Some folks that utilize Facebook may have noticed Word Whomp Derby as a free Pogo game:

This game predates Pogo for Facebook and is a standalone application. Obviously this was released when Pogo started experimenting with the Facebook experience.
If Poppit Sprint remains exclusive of the main Pogo site, they might as well move Word Whomp Derby from the separate application over to the Pogo for Facebook suite. While Pogo for Facebook is still in beta, would anybody wish to see this game fully-integrated into the Pogo for Facebook portal? Likewise, has anybody heard/read news regarding this game? Heck, for that matter, did anybody even know this game existed?

…might I add, a few other Facebook exclusives separate of Pogo for Facebook [beta] include Operation Mania, Smarty Pants, and Spore.
Talk about disorganized!
WOW Frank….I have played Word Whomp since its inception…at least 10 yrs ago. Most of us are aware of Word Whomp Whackdown and the download game Word Whomp Underground. But this is the first I’m hearing of Word Whomp DERBY!
I don’t play Pogo on Facebook..but this is a little much…on top of all the other games you’ve mentioned! Very touchy subject this…Pogo on FB vs. Club Pogo, so I’m going to leave it alone.
Thanks for the info. Have fun playing the game when it debuts!
I would play it if they added it to the Pogo on FB games. I’ve never heard of the game before, nice find!!
I’ve been playing Word Whomp Derby since it was released back in autumn of 2009. Seriously, it’s been a stand-alone application for well over a year. There’s a global leader board where high scores are compared to all players.
I was shocked that Pogo for Facebook didn’t immediately integrate this. They had a standalone Scrabble application, but Pogo retired it and — quite obviously — integrated it into Facebook for Pogo.
The disarray created by Pogo is quite exasperating. They have a “fan” page for Pogo.com, which promoted the separate applications and later created the Pogo for Facebook portal. Obviously we do not know what the staff is ever thinking (if at all…) but a person sound of mind would think they’d retire the old applications and bring them to the portal.
However, there is one easy explanation why they don’t do that: You don’t have to be a Pogo member (free or Club Pogo) to play Word Whomp Derby.
