Chrome is not your operating system. Chrome is a browser, like Internet Explorer and Firefox.

Your operating system would be Windows XP, Vista, Win 7, or Win 8.

Check to see if your plug-ins are still enabled. Google Chrome has sometimes been blocking them lately for security reasons. Type chrome:plugins into your omnibox (address bar) & click on . Expand the page with the little in the right-hand corner. Scroll down to see if your Java is still enabled.

You may be more successful with an offline download & installation of Java.
