Did you try activating it from your M&M Album?  Where did you try to activate it from?  What happened when you tried to activate it?

If you are talking about the alternate badge for Word Womp or Canasta that cost 40 gems it appears you can’t activate it from the Event page…try badge central or classic pogo albums.
