The Goldsmithing Merit Badge Event begins today and goes through October 12. In this event there will be two weeks of challenges with a reward of the animated Super Scout Badge:

- Five special Challenges unlock every week during the event: four free Mix-n-Match Challenge and an optional Premium Mix-n-Match Challenge.
- To progress each week, you must complete either the four free Challenges, or the optional Premium Challenge. If you want to complete all five, go for it!
- Completing the necessary Challenges for the week earns you a Merit Badge for the Goldsmithing Merit Badge Event! If you collect both Merit Badges during the event, you’ll earn the animated Super Scout Badge.
- If you fall behind, you can go back and complete previous weeks. Just make sure all Merit Badges have been earned by 11:59pm on October 12!
Note: Pogo’s post says the 4 free badges each week are Mix-n-Match, but do not appear in the Mix-n-Match Albums. As soon as the challenge is completed the Badge goes into the Special Edition Album. The only Mix-n-Match Badge is the alternate Premium one for 40 gems.
Although Pogo states you can earn the animated Super Scout Badge by collecting “both” Merit Badges during the event, this is not true. There are THREE merit badges, one for each week, that must be collected in order to earn the animated Super Scout Badge.

I agree with all of you. The only one I’ll do is snowbird because I like the game and can just replay levels that are easier to win-just try a couple of times – and do not have to use powerups.

It seems like the party is over in Matching Moments. For a long time your coins would come back when you left and came back. Not anymore. Amazing that they can fix that but not fix the other problems with this game. I haven’t been able to get in unless I use the workaround that Rose posted. Just another nail in the Pogo coffin!

horrible game requirements/ i only work on one account now due to gem hungry games. i may try on principle but would love a different site at this point. so much invested in pogo and so many badges that i would miss. it does keep me focused on goals. but the money is crazy. i’d rather listen to books, even though i do that while i play pogo games.

I will do the Merge badge because I play that each day anyway. I would do the Crazy Cakes and Spades if they were free, but I’m not spending gems on them. Disappointed, terrible event.

The requirements for these badges are really excessive to the point of ridiculous. Just to get a bunch of pixels? And pogis that I haven’t needed for a week now. And we still have another week until the new constellation. No thank you.

In my future I see me doing one badge from the first set, Snowbird, and then, well, in my future I see me doing one badge from the first set, Snowbird. Absolutely the worst event I’ve ever seen here in 23 years.

I agree with everyone here. This event is one of the worst ones I too have also seen. Also, having Solitaire Home Story as October’s G.O.M. means it will be the second month in a row that I will not be doing the G.O.M. challenge. Did not even start September’s G.O.M. (Farm Merge) as I don’t play the game at all.
Pogo is not as much fun as it was when I became a member in 2006. HOWEVER, I will say that I really like the new game Word Gardens.

wow, what are they thinking, its not the games for me, its the requirements, 250 crystals in merge academy, i am lucky to complete 2-3 orders a week.

I agree, all these new games are terrible. You have to wait forever to play unless you spend gems. wish they would go back to the way pogo used to be, you could play games forever without running out of lives or ink.

I did a couple but when I came to the tile hero, forget it. I refuse to spend spend spend by purchasing the extra badges. There is a bottom to the well. I can read books and still get the same enjoyment.
