I did the first level and I have a sneaky idea this is going to be another Quinn’s. Just in case I won’t go any farther until the first weekly or event is assigned to this game. Hoping I’m wrong, but feeling I’m right.
minty222 says
i thought the exact same thing… so also stopped there. lol
Life4Style says
That is my opinion, also. Since it’s a solitaire game, I expect it to be like Snowbird and have to redo levels.
autumn says
yes I got easily addicted and already stuck im on level 70 something
Lionmommy79 says
I’m with you! Learned my lesson with Garden Blast. Not going to play a game for fun unless there is a challenge at stake. Not about to buy powerups for badges any more. Pay enough just to play.
renee vesely says
Amen! It’s a boring game anyway.
Sharon says
More like another Snowbird’s IMO.
NancyV says
Cute children’s game. Another MONEY maker for POGO.
John says
Holy cow! Did you get a look at the prices of the power ups? I guess Pogo thinks we are all millionaires to buy that many gems.
skye says
juvenile
BeBach64 says
Very. Guttural at best.
users9425 says
Tried it.. The story line makes it a kids game..I had hoped for a poker game to come back to us,
autumn says
agree!!! I miss texas hold’em. Made alot of friends in there but now I rarely talk to them since we can’t sit at a table and chat and play
Sharon says
Playing hold’em with tokens was my favorite thing to do. I miss the old POGO.
Dusty says
Well, just looked briefly at it and Like Patray will wait till challenge comes out. And yes does maybe look like kids game, not sure as have not gone more then introduction. BUT At times I am a kid at heart. 🙂
BeBach64 says
I think it’s a “rip-off” of the Grand Harvest game! I, unfortunately am a true addict and spent welll over a grand in real $$’s!! Ain’t falling for this crap again!
monte says
Tried it also just to see what it was like. What a joke of a game. Agree that its’ juvenile. Also am I seeing it correctly that you only get 5 “lightning bolts” to play a game and it takes 15 minutes to get charged back up again? I don’t want to play any further also but don’t know if it takes 15 minutes to charge up 1 lightning bolt or back up to 5.
buckeyesno1 says
Every 15 minutes you get 5. Going to be hard doing any kind of challenge with that. I had infinity for only about a half hour then I went back down to 5 when time was up.
Esque says
When you complete 50% of a chapter, you get a little block of unlimited play. Usually between 10 – 20 minutes. Also there are different challenges that last from 1- 2 days that give you unlimited time as well. The largest block of unlimited play that I’ve gotten so far is for 30 minutes.
Kathy C says
I tried it. Just like a juvenile game I help my grandkids play.
Cher says
I tried it. I got the first badge and I think I’m done. Not only is it juvenile, it’s a frustrating gem eater. I will only play it for a weekly.
Good luck to all!
Cher 🙂
Esque says
Well, if you do play, don’t use your coins to purchase items. Save your coins to buy extra cards…you’ll need them. You can also get more freebies once you’ve progressed in the game by doing chores such as dusting the mirror or gramophone and watering plants. Free spins show up every 12 hours.
John says
12 Hours? My board tells me it takes 24 hours.
Esque says
Not sure because I wasn’t paying close attention to that when I first started playing. Perhaps it changes as you rank up?? I do get the spins every 12 hours now.
Carla says
Also, if you buy the first generic item ie: the rug, bed etc, it does NOT cost any coins, they are free! (I don’t need anything fancy in there, LOL)
I have been getting 2 free spins every morning. I haven’t tried going in at night, will try that also.
I have been also claiming a prize everyday for nothing.
(I only played the first day and went to rank 5. Since then just been going in getting the free spins and claiming a prize. I have almost 6000 for really doing nothing!
Good luck in this childish game. But I surely have a feeling it will get harder, so saving up all the coins I can get.
I am surely NOT going to buy any!!
Happy Veterans Day
RyzandShyn says
Hi Carla – I’d like to try going in to stash-up with free spins and a prize. Where do you have to be in the game for that to show up when you enter the game? Does it just pop-up when you enter, or do you have to click somewhere for it? Any advice is appreciated 🙂
Carla says
Hi, It has just been popping up every morning since the first day I played. It gives me 2 spins (and you can buy a gold spin, but I surely don’t need to do that! They will try and get you anyway they can, LOL)
Then the prize just area, I think it is the basket on the right bottom (where you can buy things, NOT, LOL) that lights up I think and I click on it and it says “Claim” and usually it has been either some coins or energy!)
Now, I just looked at the spinner and it says “next Free Spins in 9 hrs 19 minutes”.. So, I will surely go in and do those spins tonight. That will be 4 spins I didn’t realize!
I haven’t played since the first day. I got to rank 5. Level 19 and I am stopping there for now and just collecting as much as I can until they put out and event of challenge or whatever.
Right now I have almost 6000 coins, 28 full energy and 5 stars.
Hope this helps!
Have a wonderful, safe Holiday weekend. 🙂
RyzandShyn says
Thanks for the information, I appreciate it.
Esque says
The chores lists for me is now completing 15 tasks. Another chance to get freebies. It was lower when I first started the game. I was wondering if it would go up to 20 tasks but it’s staying at 15 for now. I haven’t paid any attention to the time scheme for the tasks but a new one added is feed the dog 😀
vlamp66 says
well i must have caught this game at a good time.
i played thursday evening.
im level 42. i had a good player experience.. i was not limited to only 5 energy
bolts..there were game chests that awarded energy coins and power ups.
i spent no actual gems..
as for juvenile i actually prefer easy games..as of late pogo has saddled us with games
that in my opinion are not fun easy and almost demand your gems..
i dont find this game any more annoying than the other new ones.. about the same.
today the game experience is not as pleasant and is frustrating because those chests are no longer available.. its a dart board ..im going to see if you can build up energy bolts by collecting them and not playing until you have more than 5. i have commitment issues when the games are not fun and just gem eaters..id like the token system back .
RyzandShyn says
I let it run in the background. When it gets back up to 5 energy bolts, it says “Full”.
MidniteToker97 says
I will take this game over garden blast thats for sure but wont be buying any extra cards, powerups etc….
buckeyesno1 says
I got to level 13 and cant continue unless I buy the starter pack. This game is similar to Quinn. Not going to waste my time on this. You get 13 levels of a tutorial and that’s it.
buckeyesno1 says
Never mind I refreshed the game and it continued
dan says
It’s not juveniile. the story is actually smart and geared towards adults. The cardgame is very similar to snowbird solitaire. There are some super hard levels, but easy ones too.
CarolsBooks says
Dan, thank you for your comment. I have not tried the game. If there are intelligent levels geared toward adults, I look forward to trying them out.
Christine says
Totally baby game
BingoLady65370 says
I tried this game because it is new. What a waste of my time. It is definitely a child’s game, the graphics are blurry and not attractive. I hope they don’t have many challenges for this because it is not worth playing.
SnowStar says
Solitaire games, tile games and Sudoku games.
How about something different or bring back some of the old games.
boops4u says
Yes, like euchre for example… Just get rid of Gardden Blast once and for all. Can’t believe they’re getting rid of Jungle Gin, such a popular game and keeping the cash grabberf Garden Blast which most people hate and refuse to play it. All my friends and family members are in that group..
Shelly says
Are they getting rid of Jungle Gin? Can you link to the info please, I’ve looked and can’t find anything. Thanks
MomsBassetHound says
Jungle Gin is NOT being retired. There’s a Jungle Gin Badge that’s being retire, not the game itself.
Suz
shelly says
Thanks for that Suz. I didn’t think to look at badges retiring when looking for info, will do so in the future.
Thx again!
MomsBassetHound says
You’re very welcome!
If Pogo wrote things clearer, it would make everything easier.
Suz
AGWAPRES says
I haven’t seen where Jungle Gin is being gotten rid of until I read your post. I must have missed that announcement. When is this suppose to happen?
MomsBassetHound says
The game is NOT being retired.
The only thing being retired is a badge for the game.

I played for a bit. The game is fine for what it is. It’s a standard, guided tri-peaks style game that emphasizes ‘desperation buys’ to clear that last card and make steady progress.
The mobile-appificiation of modern Pogo makes me so sad. I get why they have to do it—gotta follow the market and meet the people where they are these days—but unique games are what made Pogo…Pogo!
What makes it feel worse is that this isn’t even an exclusive game to Pogo. The company that made Solitaire Home Story also distributes it through Facebook and another gaming website, and I’m pretty sure it’s also a downloadable app under a slightly different name.
EA is caught between a rock and a hard place as the casual gaming landscape continues to change. I just wish they could get some of their old spark back. They might be able to lead again rather than play catch-up.
Justin (Armadillokd) says
Haven’t tried it. Doesn’t look appealing to me, I have emailed Sconnie and did surveys about the games they have brought are very gem friendly now days. CP needs to bring the variety of games we were used to would be nice. Sorry to rant it’s just why have us do surveys and not acknowledge us long term members

I had a similar game in my old computer, Garden Scapes, with Austin, where you had to make garden renovations but instead of playing cards you had to play Match-3 boards. I loved the game and completed it in no time, nothing to buy or spend real money on (except for buying the game of course). It was super fun, super entertaining, super cute and super easy and I really enjoyed “building” my garden. Then I downloaded Home Scapes wich was the same but this time you had to do the inside of the house and I loved it too. Sadly my computer crashed and lost the games.
After that I found the games in the app store, for free, I still have them on my phone and play once in a blue moon.
I don’t like these apps as much as I loved the computer games, they are maybe nicer and funnier but way way harder and if you want to eventually “complete” the games in this life you better be ready to spend real dollars to pay for extra time, extra lives, power-ups and extra everything. I stopped playing when levels became extremely hard to complete.
My guess is this Pogo game is exactly like that. It’s super easy at first, you fly through the first levels but as you move forward the levels become harder and harder until you get stuck and there’s only 2 options, replay the levels a million times or use power-ups you have to buy with gems of course, and don’t forget the limited “energy”, you wait for recharge (a few minutes at first, them hours or days) or buy extra energy with gems. I’m only guessing here, I only played 2 levels.
The game is cute thou and I like it but most probably I won’t be playing it except for challenges
Christine says
POGO is better then the free apps you can get from App Store. This is the death of POGO.
Kygirl1942 says
Childish!
QuietDi says
I have a hard time spending 32 Gems (limited time 90% off for a new player) on the paltry starter bundle of power-ups. The “Most Popular” Big Repair Bundle — double the starter bundle, but still paltry — is 750 Gems. I’ll pass.
I played a little to earn the first 2 Game Awards, and now, I will wait to play again when there is a challenge. I will launch the game twice a day to get free spins and rewards.
I really find the game really annoying. Every time you select a card on the board, and it does not lead to another card to play on the board, the Undo power-up jiggles. Every time you turn over a card in the draw pile and there is no playable card on the board, the Joker power-up jiggles.
mtl33avs says
This game reminds me of the one I downloaded onto my phone about a month ago while waiting for my Mom to get out of her appointment. It is called “Homescapes”. It is almost the same storyline too…(except I don’t remember any solitaire games on that one. It’s not bad, it’s a good time killer, lol.
ladyuvleisure says
I wonder why they made the badges smaller than normal, and is that to be the size for all future releases? Also, they have 4 badges with all the same picture – a clothes hanger, which is actually the Costumed Cactus badge from Poppit Party. I assume it was just a placeholder that they forgot to upload the correct badge. Hope they fix it soon.
Another issue I have with the game is one of my treasure rewards was for 20 minutes of infinite energy, meaning it didn’t cost me anything to play a level during those 20 minutes, but the timer keeps ticking down even when you are not in the game, so I basically lost it all without any benefit.
buckeyesno1 says
This is crazy only getting 5 lightning bolts to only play 5 hands and if you have to use all 5 lightning bolts for a hard level then you are stuck having to wait 15 minutes to only get 5 more. I agree, this is a “push gems down our throats” game like they all are. I realized I don’t need to refresh every time they push the starter pack on us,, I just noticed the red x to close it. Those surveys they have, I guess they don’t pay attention to the complainers and only listen to those who like Pogo.
Shyan says
I was hoping this would have been different that the Facebook version but alas it is not I also will only play for challenges
Charlene says
Well I hoping it would have free unlimited lives for club pogo members like snowbird and jet set! 15 min for 5 lives??? Crazy
P.J. says
i am on level 89 i like the game. The games keep me sane i stay in bed all the time cancer got me. Hospice care now. Guess i am in my 2nd childhood with this game lord know i wouldn’t be here much longer being a grown up is overrated.
Hellga says
I like the look and the story is your standard renovation game story (a zillion phone games just like that out there), but I absolutely despise the gameplay. Lightning bolts being used up for every level even if you win is a big no-no. And many levels are complete luck of the draw and require several replays if you want to win without using power-ups. Plus little annoyances like the jackpot wheel automatically coming up after every level won even though it is recharging and therefore unspinnable at the moment. I will go in daily to collect door prizes, but that’s it, I won’t be playing except for badges because it’s such an obvious money grab. Also prices in gems are absolutely ridiculous.
Sweetness6645 says
hi all,
does anyone know how many levels there are?
thank you
Sal says
The game now goes up to 1500 levels and includes 100 ranks and 12 rank badges.
Carla says
https://www.badgehungry.com/game-ranks/solitaire-home-story-ranks/
There are a total of 43 Badges.
31 In-Game Badges
12 Streak Badges (which are Rank Badges)
And as I wrote below, there are 1500 Levels.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My suggestion and what I am doing and a lot of others are doing!
Stay on a low level in the game and just keep collecting your pups from your 4 spins a day, the daily prize and the shop prize.
Build up as much as you can. Do NOT PLAY!!
When there is a challenge you are going to need them!
This will be worse that Garden Blast as you can not dupe to build your pups. So, stay low and build them up.
(Just my opinion)
Good Luck
bety says
I see 35 non-rank in game badges and game award album lists 47. I suggest that you play to at least level 7 to get the “daily” spin which occurs every 12 hours.
Boosts you can add at the start of each game (1) clear 3 cards, (2) jokers into deck, (3) see the top cards in the deck. These boosts become active at levels 10,13,16.
Carla says
Bety Yes, there are 35 in-game badges. For some reason I did not see those others. Thank you for clarifying the last 4.
Jeff says
I think the game is pretty fun for a few minutes but it’s so blatantly obvious that it’s a money trap, it’s almost insulting. I had a level spit out 12 hands in a row that I couldn’t win because I wouldn’t use power ups – 2 of them I was only able to remove 1 card from the game! This game is available on Facebook and mobile apps. What happened to the days of original games?
Sal says
Hi Jeff, Just wondering. What happens when you get a hand that you can’t win? Do you get “stuck” on that Level until you can WIN one of those hands?? And what Level are you on now?? TIA
slowtospeak says
Super disappointed to see no Level Select. I guess we will get stuck on a level just like Garden Blast.
Sal says
Take Carla’s advice so you never get stuck on a level in this game and NEVER get stuck on a level in Garden Blast either!! Just read and follow advice of successful players. Good Luck 🤞
Carla says
👍🤞
skye says
i just wish there were better instructions. i have never gotten the spins being talked about.
Carla says
Hi Skye, When you go into the game click on the spinner wheel on the top right and open it. See what it says at the bottom. It should say when your next spin will be! You get 2 spins from there every 12 hours. Like mine says right now “Next FREE spins in 4h 36m.
So, when I go in then, it will automatically pop open on the screen and I can spin.
The other two spins are strange, LOL. One is the daily and it pops up for me around 5 in the afternoon, the other is from the “shop basket”, if you see it blinking open it and you will see where it says “claim” so that is another prize. But there is no rhyme or reason when these seem to pop up. I usually get the shop one in the morning when I do my morning spins. Hope this helps and you can start claiming your pups!! You are going to need them.
Good Luck.
bety says
You do need to be to level 7 for the spinner to become active
FADEDWILDROSE says
My notes say that the “daily” spin becomes active after level 7. I am seeing spins every 12 hours not just “daily”
Carla says
Rose Yes, I forgot to put that in. Maybe Skye has not reached Level 7, that is when the spins do start! (I stopped playing after level 7 and just collecting from my 2 spins Every 12 hours, my daily gift and the claim from the shop.
I tried this new solitaire game and have no idea what I’m doing. I know it’s juvenile but I guess I don’t have the patience to mess with it. I’m going to be in trouble when it comes as a weekly challenge. I just don’t get all of the power ups and other things they want you to buy. Oh well! I’ll worry about it when the time comes.
Happy Thanksgiving to all. 🦃
Cher. 😍🦃
Sal says
Don’t BUY anything. There’s lots of FREE stuff including FREE power-ups.
At least you all can get into it. I’ve tried twice and it sits on loading.
Yes indeed! I like this game and am completely confused by those who think it is childish. It is a solitaire game. I like the story and the dog. I am not a very good solitaire player but have managed to get around 15-20 of each power up and about 20,000 coins since it became available.
