I started with the last one (300 tricks in spades) and thought all tricks my partner and I took would count. It doesn’t–only the tricks you yourself take count. The only good thing is that ALL tricks you take count, no matter what your bid was. This will not be a fast badge, and for only 200 pogis.

I would save the Spades since Spades is one of the wednesday Badges this week

Hate to mention BUT
Weekly Challenges – 6/29
Spades HD – Win 30 Nil Bids this week!
Nil = No tricks
not very compatible with
Summer Spades Lap 6 Badge
Take 300 tricks before the Marathon ends.

I’m working on the 300 tricks today and tomorrow. I hope to finish by Wednesday, but if not, I should be close and can still work on it, since I won’t be able to bid nil on every hand. It’s a pita but setting the game to 1000 helps as you get more in a game and you don’t have to reset as often.

Sal says
One option would be to double browse if you have or make a second account. One work on NIL badge and the other try to WIN tricks. You can pass cards and play cards that help your partner to achieve their goal.
Leda says
Spades HD – Nil-no tricks, How do I win a game in the Nil game?
Sal says
If you bid NIL and DON”T win any tricks for that round, you get 100 points. If you win even 1 trick, you lose 100 points.
Christine says
To add to what Sal said, winning the game with NIL bids isn’t any different then winning without them.
Like Sal said, you’ll get an extra 100 points if you succeed.
If you’re partner doesn’t make their bid but you do, you’ll still get the extra 100 points.
You’re not going to be able to make a NIL bid every hand so it takes a bit of time to do.
Only make NIL bids when you’re hand isn’t very good.
You can still win the game with NIL bids, you won’t be to make them every hand.
SAT says
Thank-you for the info. I’ll leave that one for last (if at all lol)

I like spades and enjoy playing the game, but hate when Pogo over schedules a game. We just got the free badge with 1,000 Pogis from buying gem packets, and 2 challenges in this marathon, July GOTM , I believe is also spades. Thank goodness I like this game and do play it regularly. I hope a lot of people like spades, Have a great day everyone!
Sandy
theshroad says
My understanding is July GOTM is Pogo Daily Sudoku, unless pogo has made a change!
Terry
coolgranny55 says
Actually, I don’t know what I was thinking when I said GOTM for July was Spades.. It is Pogo daily Sudoku which I love to play. So, Pogo did not over schedule challenges in one game like they like to do. I will enjoy my July GOTM badges still.

Save the Nil badge to pair up with Wed. Weekly (30 nil). Also, you cannot activate another badge until you finish the one you are doing.
Ampehl says
Finished half, did bejeweled since I play it daily, did mahjong sanctuary level 4 just did seasons new game it went fast, slots went faster than expected w free spins. ( Note how when you need free spins it’s harder when you don’t need them you get them)
Doing spades 300 tricks now.
Had it so I would just finish constellation with 0 over but now will go over so not doing the weeklies this week to save the 800 for later.
Have a great day and count your blessings.
FADEDWILDROSE says
I think mahjong sanctuary level 3 is even quicker than 4 for seasons. Gotta do 4 for flowers though.
KarePackage says
I agree. I always use level 3. 🙂
Christine says
Thank you FADEDWILDROSE, I always thought seasons & flowers both started at level 4, I never thought to check level 3 & apparently forgot about! Thanks for the reminder 😊

It seems I always get a free spin when I am about to leave out the door. lol.
Thanks for the idea of not doing weeklies. I was away for a month, so I will only get silver, but I still would like to save it for a constellation when I can get gold.
theshroad says
I seem to get a free spin when I am ready to stop to get going somewhere so am delayed!! It happened this morning but it was fine as the free spins finished off the badge.

I realized a while ago that I could “let it go” for the last third of the constellation when there aren’t that many days left. Also, I actually get some chores done around the house! Then I miss Pogo and look for mix and match badges with 14, 21, or 28 days and do most of each one then (writing them down to keep track) on Day 1 of the next constellation I get a ton of badges!
Seriously, I did a comparison of the first constellation through the present and can’t believe the HUGE difference in the numbers to get through the third round now. The first constellation we only had to get 30,000+ and now it’s what, 70,000+?
MomsBassetHound says
It only required a total of 69,000 to get thru all 3 levels on this constellation.
Bronze required 12,000 Pogis, Silver required 25,000 Pogis, and Gold required 32,000 Pogis, for a total of 69,000.
Where are you seeing that any constellation required 70,000 for just the 18 gold tiers?

I’ve done all of them except Spades which I can’t do. Hubs said he would do them tonight. I already activated the Nil badge so since we have that Wednesday, I’ll activate the other one so he can do those two together. Thanks for letting me know, you all.
bigfun says
Spades is not a game I play. Can someone explain what a nil bid is, and how to win this?
Thanks for any help
Sal says
You probably will get a lot of answers but the answer to your general question is: a NIL bid is when you bid NIL. In order to win you have to lose every trick. If you win even one time, you lose. There is a lot more to know if you have never played the game. If you know how to win by winning tricks, then this is just the opposite. When you set up be sure under settings you say YES to allow Nil bids. Good luck.
Puzzler125 says
The word “nil” means nothing so when you bet that you won’t get a single trick or “nil bids” you aren’t dooming yourself, you’re just figuring out you didn’t have an A,K,Q of spades, A of other suits, and/or probably wouldn’t do well for that hand anyway.
theshroad says
A nil bid is where you pull no tricks. You want a hand with few spades (low ones), preferably no aces (unless you have an ace in a suit with a lot of cards), Play your highest cards first as long as it’s lower than those already played. I like to pass a card to my partner, even when playing with bots. I can get rid of a high card or a spade. Give it a try – it may take a while to get 30 nil bids but I enjoy it and will sometimes try even though my hand isn’t a great nil hand ~ sometimes I make it; other times I don’t. LOL
Terry
Christine says
When making a NIL bid you can’t pass any cards to your partner.
You can only pass 2 cards to your partner when making a BLIND NIL BID.
The difference is, you can make a NIL bid with every hand your dealt. You can only make a BLIND NIL BID when you’re losing by X amount of points (I can’t remember how many, I think it’s around 120). a window will pop up & that’s when you’ll have the chance to make a BLIND NIL BID & pass 2 cards to your parter.
Sal says
IF you set up to Pass one card to partner, you pass card BEFORE you bid. You can then bid NIL. You can pass 2 cards for Blind NIL.
Sal says
I bid NIL almost every time. If you succeed, you get 100 points. Only 10 points for winning trick. 13 tricks per round. So winning 10 tricks to get 100 points not easy. Seldom lose NIl
Sal says
I forgot to say when setting up choose NIL plus partner’s bid in scoring.
Christine says
Thank you Sal for the correction & clarification.
I’ve always played with the default settings.
Time to change that.
Thank you again 😊
