Garden Blast (header)It’s been a week since Garden Blast was made available to all Pogo players. Have you had a chance to check it out yet?

Let’s use the comments below to collect tips & tricks for playing the game and make some guesses as to what kind of challenges Pogo might come up with for the game.

Here is Pogo’s description:

Garden Blast is officially live on Pogo! Practice your floral finesse in this all-new puzzle game packed with plenty of levels and fun. In Garden Blast, you complete levels by matching flower tiles in groups of two or more. As the groups get bigger, you’ll even notice the icon on them changes to show the reward. Clearing larger groups will earn you helpful boosters like Rockets, Bombs, and Disco Balls. Just make sure to pay attention to the level objectives, as you get a limited amount of moves to reach your goal.

As you complete levels, you’ll also earn Seed Funds, which you can spend on additional power-ups and boosters. Be sure to keep an eye out for limited-time in-game events, which give you the chance to earn great rewards while playing through special levels.

    one rocket will destroy a single row/column.
    one bomb will destroy a 3×3 square.
    one disco ball will destroy every square that is it’s color.
    SIDEBY SIDE BOOSTER COMBOS IS THE WAY TO GO
    two rocket boosters will clear 1 horizontal & 1 vertical row & column.
    two bombs will destroy a 9×9 square.
    a rocket & bomb will destroy 3 row & columns
    a rocket & disco ball makes every colored square that’s same as ball into an rocket and explode
    a bomb & disco ball makes every colored square that’s same as ball into a bomb and explode
    two disco balls will destroy the whole field.
    Except for the disco ball combos, the destruction pattern will be centered around which booster that is clicked

      • How do you pass level 40 with no power ups or coins to buy any? I can’t get the weekly badge without passing this level? Can I re play previous level?

        • I would like to know this also – about ready to give up on it and never play this game again.

          • I wish you could go back and Play levels over again but you can’t. I don’t know what half of these power-ups or boosters mean. The one I’m stuck on it’s like a cover over one of the tiles have no clue what that is

          • I have been on level 40 for months and cant seem to figure out how to get past. Hate this game. How are you supposed to blast the sunflowers on the right side if you don’t get any rockets to go horizontal?

        • if you can get 2 disco balls (soccer balls) next to each other, that will clear the board

        • Darlene….keep trying….I was stuck on 40…but I kept playing over and over….finally crystal ball showed up and I got past 40…..but when you get to 170….that’s another problem that I can’t pass….I play over and over….nothing…and I’m not going to pay for 100 pogies. Good Luck…you can do it…

          • bout a week — I finally passed it. I had to buy more moves like 4 times and the sledge hammer about 5 times. I had enough coins – hope you can get through it!

        • I like this game but I do wish I could go back and play previous levels. That’s the only thing I wish was different.

      • I agree with you about that. I am trying to put two disco balls in at the beginning of 90 to see if that will help to beat the level.

      • I have been trying to get a badge and I cannot pass level 90. I have used all of my coins. can’t do any other games for badges until I finish this one. if anybody knows how to pass level 90 it would truly be appreciated for some advice.

      • I don’t like it either. I am stuck on 90 and I am not going to keep trying and wasting time on it.

  2. Garden blast level 200: Be aware that rockets on this level cannot shoot out the parsnips! You need to get side by side disco balls (preferably twice)! To keep disco balls side-by- side, the brown flowers below them on each side must be in 1 of 3 formations (1) ALL removed, (2) None removed, or (3) only the bottom row of two remain (so that the disco balls will be side by side when released from the feeders). This level can be won without power-ups but will often need mega-repeat plays to get the colors you need when and where you need them.

    • I have literally worked on Level 200 for a couple of months. I will try to follow your instructions and see if I can finally pass this level. :::fingers crossed:::

    • Thank you for this tip regarding level 200. I have been on it for weeks now and cannot remove flowers or turnips. I always have the dark yellow ball and by the time I get a second ball I am already in single digits for time remaining.

    • I got the first two GOTM badges for this game, then came level 200. been playing about 50 times. I need to complete with 5 or moves left. have 21 of 35 so far. I will just be happy to win it to move on. This may be the first GOTM I do not complete this year. i should have looked at them before activating. just hit activate when new one showed up,

      • How can you get two disco balls together when you can’t get enough color blocks together. You end up running out of moves before you get the two disco balls.

    • I’ve played this a zillion times! Rarely get a rocket, rarely get anything but the red ball! Never have I been so frustrated with a game. No matter what I do I can’t seem to get past this one! Any additional tips?

    • I have played this a zillion times and even had three disco balls together at one point and still ended up with 5 parsnips left. I really hate when they make it almost impossible to get a badge. It would be nice if you could go back and replay previous levels like in most of the other games.

      • I agree I was on 150 forever now on 159 trying to get 160 and i am going nuts this is not a fun badge to do after this i will not play this game thank you

    • How can you get the two disco balls together when you can’t get enough color blocks together. You end up running out of moves before you get the disco balls.

  3. Garden Blast level 150: the parsnips below the yellow feeders cannot be shot down until there is a tile under them. You can get that to happen by filling those feeders.

  4. There are currently 240 levels .You earn powerups along the way that you can use during the game. After completing all levels you get to play random levels, but you need to win the random level in order to get another random level. Be careful with the power ups you earn. If you use them all and you are on a random level that is hard you will be stuck there until you either win it or purchase more power ups. There are a lot of easy levels and some strategizing goes a long way. After a while I actually started to really enjoy this game

    • Thank you for the helpful info, scout–it’s nice to know where one’s game rank currently stands and what to shoot for!

      As a newbie to the game (just reached Rank 1 & completed Level 20), I was wondering about the straw brimmed “hats,” that are sometimes hung on the Score fence post. If one doesn’t win that particular level, a pop-up warns you (totally paraphrasing here): “Are you.sure you don’t want to buy 5 extra moves for xxx amount coins? You will lose your “Anthony hats” (I think that was the name; I may be mistaken). It’s nice that players are awarded coins after completing each level. The first 5 extra moves cost 40 coins–and increases exponentially with each extra 5 moves on that level. Of course, because I’m a bit stubborn after having invested these coins, I emptied my coin stash chasing these “hats.” Which made me laugh at myself afterwards because I’m not even sure of the value of these hats! I’ve since disciplined myself to only buy 5 extra moves if I’m fairly certain I can complete the game board within those five moves. You are right about strategizing–thinking ahead by looking at the whole game board prior to making moves gets easier the more one plays.

      However–Is it wise strategy to spend awarded coins for 5 extra moves to obtain these hats? Or is it wiser to just click out and start the level over? How many straw brimmed hats are able to be piled on that old fence post anyway, and what happens after one gets the maximum (or any) amount of hats?

      If you–or any other kind citizen of Pogo land–knows the scoop on these straw brimmed hats; it will be appreciated — thank you in advance & good luck!

      • Clarifying the Anthony hat: you only get one hanging there but it has adornments that show you how far you are on it. To avoid losing your hat advantage (extra boosters beginning a level) when you lose, DO NOT hit new game, but exit the game

        • Ohhh snap! Many thanks for this valuable tip, FW Rose; you are a pogo goddess for saving me (us) from needless inner turmoil over whether or not to spend those awarded coins for 5 extra moves. Now that I’ve gone up a few levels, I notice the coins are only being awarded every ten levels now.

          Attention Garden Blast Newbies: So like scout said above–save your coins for the harder levels later on–don’t spend them in the early levels (like me) if you can instead use FW Rose’s tip!)

    • I’m with you Scout! I really enjoy this game. It is my “go-to” game if I am not “working” on some specific goal. Only rank 10 though

    • I just wanted to add that most levels are doable. Some are easy and some you need to repeat several times. like I said do some strategizing. Only use your power ups or buy extra moves if you absolutely have to. Keep the power ups and use them only on the really hard levels

    • I’ve been frozen out on level 240. No matter how many power ups I purchase. Can you go back and replay other levels? If so. how?

      • No, there’s no way to go back and pick an easier level. Once you complete level 240 you will be able to play random, but it’s different from other games. Once you start the random you must complete whatever level you get before getting another random level.

    • Suz, Ironically, by all reports, the in-game event turned out to be super easy. And did not use any levels in the regular game so didn’t matter if you were stuck somewhere. You can still easily complete the event.

  6. I haven’t played this since it first came out so I might not remember things correctly.

    It was important to keep the hats. If I wasn’t going to win I would reload the game. That way the hats weren’t lost. I think I also reloaded to try to line up the power ups.

    The coins you earn are only on the original levels. Once you get to random you stop earning them.

    At the time when you got a random level you couldn’t get a new level until you won it. Exiting and restarting didn’t change the level. They might have fixed that. I stopped playing because of that. There were some very hard levels that I didn’t want to be stuck with.

    • No, you still need to win a random level before getting a different random level.

    • In random play you do get seeds, but they are rare and measly . When they are awarded they are never enough for even once adding moves at the end of a game.

  7. I also read that we can not replay levels…. so we will careful when the challenges and events occur. i am level 20 and thanks for tips and keep them coming …

  8. I accidently spent seeds a few times. Not realizing that I was at the end of a level, I had the “spend 60 seeds” link jump under my finger as I poked what I thought I was doing as my next move.

  9. How do you get rid of the box of gardening tools? I just got to Level 43, and don’t have a clue.

  10. Tool boxes need to be matched beside or hit with a booster 3 times ( disposing of each of the 3 tools inside). When that is completed, a random booster will replace the tool box.

  12. Hello hope POGO watched copy right laws closely. This game is walking a thin line between the KING games game FARM HEROES SAGA. The game formats between the two are too close for comfort. Farm Heroes it is veggies. fruits and animals and here coloured squares. But the game formats are the same both tell you an x amount of each to get plus how many other things. Like HEROES extras would be sheep, spiders so on and so forth here garden boxes, I PLAY FARM HEROES SO I KNOW THE CLOSENESS OF THE TWO. BOTH ARE FuN.

    • It doesn’t matter about copyrights. Remember the Cabbage Patch Dolls? How many companies duplicated that doll? A bunch. As long as it has a different name and a few other changes, there is no problem..

  13. i am stuck on level 40 and I can not replay any levels to get the badge I am working on. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get passed this level?

          • Another tip. It was tested and works great. Once your loaded into the play level screen, duplicate your tab. Most computers can go up to 15. You can do the same level 15 times, it will count. So you can win this badge with only 2 levels. Good luck

    • Level 40 has me stumped. I have tried and tried. Am giving up on this and won’t play in future. Anyone else feel defeated?

      • Yep ..I’m stuck on level 40 also ..been on there for weeks ..now with the challenges and it being the Sept monthly ..ggggrrr

  14. I have been stuck on level 35 since the first week this game debuted. I instantly got hooked. Now, there is a weekly challenge, and I don’t have a chance at completing it unless someone can give me an answer. I am not in a position to buy extra turns.

  16. I’m at the beginning, level? 15, maybe game 15. it keeps telling me I’ve run out of lives? then says all pogo players have infinite amount of lives but cant continue! have 11/30 whatever we’re sposed to be getting.
    Don’t understand the game, wont win the challenge cos cant get past 15, ugh.
    Can some1 help me please?

  17. Level 81 says ‘Match a piece inside a water droplet to collect it’. I’m not sure what needs to be done. I’ve clicked on multiple bubbles, and in random patterns. I’m not sure what to look for, or what is required. Does anyone have any helpful pointers?

    • Toolbox empties when you remove tiles around it. It takes several times. Or you can use arrow to empty either up or down.

    • After purchasing boosters how do you use them? Has this question ever been answered? Same question for Power-ups that have been earned or purchased.

      • Hi Sal. It’s my understanding that all of the boosters you “own” display on the screen right before you begin a level (any level) and you can choose to add one (and only one?) booster to the board before you see the board. Power ups can be accessed while you are playing the board. And you can use as many as you want. While playing in game you can generate boosters to be used on that board. And the tiles indicate which booster you will generate if you choose to match them. For example if you have enough of a certain tile color that are all connected you will see the shadow of a bomb in those colored tiles connected so you can generate a bomb booster. The disco ball booster which is probably the most valuable is less obvious by the shadow on the tiles (at least to me), but is easy to recognize since you need a large number of tiles of the same color connected to be able to generate that one. It’s late here so I hope this message is coherent 🙂

          Rose gave a complete list of what the boosters and booster combos do. Is there a similar list of what power ups are and what they do alone or in combinations???

          • The power-up description in game is written in Pogoese. The hammer is used to remove a single block. The garden glove removes an entire row when any tile in the row is tapped. The flower pot removes a whole column. The dice will scramble all the non-booster tiles on the board when any tile is tapped.

    • Unfortunately there is no way to go back to play lower levels. I believe that when you finish the last level you are given random levels.

    • I am stuck at level 160 too. I don’t want to waste power-ups. If you have it figured out and where to place the specials, please let me know.

  26. When I 1st atarted to try Garden Blast when I looged on it took me to level 40! I know I tried this game one other time so I knew level 40 was wrong. I am trying level 1 and I am getting stuck. I am trying I wish they had this at the very end.

  27. I would like to start back at level 1 but don’t know how to do that. I’m on level 40 7 can’t get past it. Tried the other challenge, & got to #4, but can’t get past that, either. HELP, please!!

    • Sorry, there is no going back in this game. You can’t even redo a level in order to get more stars. That’s one of the reasons people dislike this game so much.

  29. I am stuck on level 40 of Garden Blast. I’ve tried the tips here and still stuck. I’m at the end of my rope with this. Help!
    And can you go back to earlier levels? If so, how? TIA

    • Someone earlier in the thread said you can’t go back & re-do levels at all! 🙁 SO sad. Guess I won’t be finishing this badge, or the challenge.

  30. I miss the [ how to play ] link on all the games. This Garden Blast game has me confused. Is there anywhere that will tell me how to play it?

  31. I’ve been looking for the tip of using the duplicate tab. I know how to use that…but what is the process of doing the game? To what point to you do the game then use the duplicate tab? Like on sudoku you go up until the last number. I haven’t been able to figure it out on Garden Blast.

      • Thank you. I figured it all out after I asked the questions and already have 3 of the GOTM done all on level 89 which is super easy.

        • Updated steps for duplicate Garden Blast:
          1. Go to screen that says PLAY, PLAY RANDOM, or even to show the grid
          2. RIGHT click the tab at the top of the browser that says Garden Blast|Free and LEFT click duplicate.
          3. Load to PLAY, PLAY RANDOM or to the grid
          4. Repeat steps 2 &3 as many times as desired
          5. When starting play, choose Cancel NOT Refresh if offered (you may need to continue)
          6. Play until won, wait for “continue game” and click it
          7. X out of that tab
          8. On the next tab and repeat steps 5 to 7
          Duplicates advance badge credit and rank progress but only gives one advance to the star chest.

          • Rose. Great Instructions for Duplication in Garden Blast. Picking up where you left off, I would add: Duplicate Chest BEFORE opening to get more power-ups and boosters.

  32. I am soooo stuck on lev el 126 on garden blast, I cannot get the nets or webs to clear in the bottom blocks. If anyone has completed this level I would appreciate any hints. Thank you very much in advance

  33. Can someone tell me how to eliminate the tree stumps. I missed the info when they were introduced.

    • I just got through that level!! with the stumps.they don’t totally disappear. Blast them with as many double boosters as you can and watch your count go down.I surprisingly made it through

  35. I’ve searched utube and every where else I can think of with no luck. I can’t get past lvl 249, please help.

    • Update, after 10 days I finally got through 249, now I’m stuck on 250. Ugh this isn’t much fun anymore. =(

        • The only way I finally got past 249 was by getting 2 disco balls together on the right hand side of the board. Do that twice and you should be able to get through. Good luck!

          • When you choose a booster (disco ball) before playing, do you get to place it or does Antony randomly place it in the puzzle along with the other randomly placed boosters (I think 3) that you get for your lives.

  37. Regarding Level 200: I played this level many, many times over several days with no success. For the life of me I could not get two Disco Balls next to each other (on the few occasions I was able to even get more than one Disco Ball). I finally caved and bought (and activated) a Disco Ball booster. And I finally won! Hallelujah! I then used the tip to duplicate the tab before collecting the Garden Chest and that worked too! I only did five duplicates but I ended up with over 1700 seed funds. And, by the way, level 201 is VERY easy, so may want to duplicate your browser a few times before playing that one.

    • I didn’t even do Daily. Saving easy one for next challenge and then I’ll duplicate that easy one a lot!!!

        • noattentionsp. Do I understand you to say you were able to get credit for the disco balls without WINNING and losing easy level?? Too late for me to try yday Daily today but good to know for future. Please confirm or correct if I misunderstood you. TIA

          • ooops sorry i missed this but yes, i got credit for the disco balls without winning the level.

  39. Garden Blast….stuck on level 255. Out of ideas – has anyone done this level yet? Also I still cannot go back and replay completed levels.

    • Scrabbleuse. You have to choose booster BEFORE you start to play. You can choose one (only one) of each type. In other words One rocket per game.

  41. is anyone else having issues with the game loading. Mine won’t go past 80 percent.
    I’ve cleared the cache etc, changed computers to no avail.
    I don’t know if having to play random games had anything to do with it.

  42. Ive bin stuck on level 110 for a month. Bin a pogo member for many years. This is the worst game !!

  43. Been stuck on level 100 for weeks. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    • I made it through that level. I believe I used a disco ball mixed with bombs or arrows–depending upon how many blocks of the disco ball colors you have on the level while playing. If you have a disco ball in green and only have 6 green blocks, use bombs if they surround a large group of the hay bales. If you have loads of green blocks, arrows work wonderfully when used instead of bombs–but both were effective for me. Good luck! When you get to level 270, let me know how to beat it because I’m at a loss!

  47. How do you get to levels 241 – 260? I’m at 240 and all I have available to select is play random level. Thanks!

    • Colleen. Interesting question. Sorry it takes so long to get an answer. So I’ll guess. Either you mean How to USE power ups or How to see Boosters. Easy one first. Click on power up that you see on bottom of screen and then click on the board where you want to use it. Boosters can be seen when you first click on PLAY BEFORE you start playing, You can choose ONE of each type of BOOSTER BEFORE you start playing. The one(s) that you choose will appear in the board wherever Antony places them. YOU have no choice. Hope that answers your question.

  50. Tring to figure out how to use the rocket in level 249 to destroy the tree trunks in the right hand separate field. Tried getting help within the game chat but cannot figure it out.

  52. I’m fighting level 270 on garden blast and having a ridiculously hard time. All of these latest levels have bales of hay that are awful on top of the other hazards and traps already intended to make you nuts! lol Does ANYONE out there have a sure fire way to eliminate the hay bales and then kill off all the monster flowers to finally get past this level. However, there are hay bales all through these levels, so just knowing how to defeat these–yeah, bombs and arrows will obliterate some of them but there are massive quantities that almost seem to defy removal–will certainly go a long way in getting through these levels! Thanks so much all!!
