If you can get to 11X you have 10 flowers.

The game isn’t difficult, it just takes about 10 minutes to play a game, which for the badge, is about 3 hours if you get to 11x every game

I had absolutely no idea what I was doing in Lumeno and thought it was going to be another Quinn’s for me. BUT after reading all the wonderful and DETAILED hints, this old brain finally got to get an understanding of the game.
I can’t thank all of you enough for your great hints and willingness to work with those of us who
are struggling in some of the games.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU ALL.!!
And the biggest thanks goes to the Badge Hungry Site, for without this site so many of us
would be lost!!!!

Want to second this comment. Still not great at Lumeno but at least it seems less random now. And I am working steadily through that badge.
Thanks everyone for taking the time to explain all the details and what was working for you.

Here is the FAQ for the Lumeno. We hope you all enjoy this new Lumeno game
Lumeno FAQ
Q: What is the goal of the game?
A: This game will test to see how far you can last. You are tasked with removing flowers from the board by connecting orbs of the same color. Each flower has a specific amount of orbs needed for it to be removed. Every time a flower is removed, a new flower will appear, requiring even more orbs! You have a set amount of moves to work with, but will gain 5 moves each time you remove a flower. Utilize power-ups and wisps strategically to see how far you can go.
Q: What is a match?
A: Dragging a connecting line through the same color orb. You’ll need to match 3 or more orbs of the same color for them to be removed. Connections can be made horizontally, vertically, or even diagonally.
Q: How many levels are featured in the game?
A: The game is endless! This is a test to see just how far you can go!
Q: What are Wisps?
A: Wisps are formed when you make long matches. Wisps will help clear out orbs in a horizontal, vertical, or in a 3×3 grid.
Q: How do I earn ranks?
A: Ranks are calculated based on the amount of Flowers you remove from the board.
Q: What is a boost?
A: Boosts allow you to directly modify the board, giving you easier access to make bigger combos to remove flowers.
Q: If there is an in-game currency or a collection of some sort, share how players can collect and use it?
A: There is no in-game currency! Play as much as you want.
Q: If I have more questions about this game/feature, where can I go?
A: Join the discussion here:

While the instructions may say to remove the flower by connecting with orbs of the same color, that is the least efficient way to do that. A better way is to use boosts to shoot through the flower. I read a hint somewhere to avoid using a boost for anything but destroying the flower or at least reducing the number inside the flower. All orbs shot down by the boost(not just those connected in the match) are included to reduce the number inside the flower. Also their description of wisps is inaccurate — they are nor made by long matches.
Anne Wilson says
yes i agree i tried to remove orbs of same colour but they dont give u enough to do that…
i dont have enough boosts either…and not buying any….

What actually constitutes “removing” a Flower???♥

see the requirements above…the flower tells you how many orbs u need to remove it…at least thats what i get from it…but have tried that way and no score yet….
also if anyone wants the guest passes go to classic and its on the top of your friends list…

I agree. I am stuck with you. I try with and without wisp and can only get 9.

How are you doing this?? I have tried many different ways but nothing.

I agree I do not understand at all how to get this done or even how you remove flowers. I know it gives you numbers on the flowers but what does that exactly mean you need to do? I get a purple flower with 45 on it I remove purple dots still shows 45 on the flower and how do you blast a flower if with a power up what power up? I know I sound stupid but I’m thick headed I guess I can read what is posted but still don’t really get it. Thanks for any help.

jtsr1155 says
Trizzle is no picnic either. This is going to be a tough marathon to do.
patray says
Can someone tell me how to reach 8 levels in trizzle?
oldblue153 says
The trick in Trizzle is to be sure the Mega matches are not on the top or bottom row…and the last doll should not be on an outer edge…these situations decrease the effectiveness of your mega match…instead use even more moves to get them in a middle row.
an example here say this is the bottom left hand corner.
Y g g B
B Y Y g
^ ^ { move this one last the 2 g’s above will turn into G’s and the g to the right will turn into a G…and look now you have 3 Large G’s for another Mega Match…rinse n repeat often.
you would think moving the Y down to the corner means 1 move and is better…..that’s wrong…the FAR better move is to move the 2 Y’s up…you see by moving the yellow down only 2 squares will “grow” in size( the one above and the one to the right)…however moving the 2 yellows up will make 8 dolls “grow” (the 3 below the 3 above and both the right and left side of the last doll moved)…and 8 grown up dolls make for easier Mega-matches.. which produces higher scores which moves you up in levels.
.
oldblue153 says
Darn my diagram messed up those arrow marks should be below the Y’s.
Anne Wilson says
It is not merely a matching of the same-colored orbs, per se, but in some way the “flower” must also be part of that match, be it through the actual orbs being matched or through a power up that would also affect that “flower.” Any move that is made that includes that flower will decrease the number and thereby making progression happen. (Poor descriptive wording, I know, but I am barely awake at the moment LOL). KALAN posted this
shyan says
I did 11 flowers and it counted. I stop at 11 flowers.
theshroad says
I still don’t understand the game and I find removing 10 flowers to be a bit much. I don’t have enough power ups to do much and I only start at 14 moves so need to remove flowers pretty quickly. And then my flowers go from just a few needed to a lot of orbs needed for each flower ~ arrrgggh I finally got 9 flowers; of course that doesn’t help. Not sure which power up to use to get rid of the flowers but at least I feel like i know what I’m doing a little bit. This is marathon is going to take all week. I may have to do the weeklies at a later date! Thanks all for your explanations.

catlu1732 says
I think people are making this harder than it actually is. Someone mentioned Cookie Connect, and that is a great example. All you are really doing is starting on a ‘color’ and connect each of the same color until you get to the end of that line. And you just keep doing that. I was able to do it all in one game, sort of. For some reason though I tried to include the circles that actually had something inside of them, and I’m not sure they make a difference at all.

Good Luck all!

Is there somewhere that shows what the boosts do in lumeno?
bafflingbarnacles says
I found Trizzle much harder than Lumeno for meeting the goal.
Still currently doing Lumeno (only because it’s a longer requirement badge) but I’m at 10/18 and have only missed the 10th flower twice.
Trizzle took me around 25-30 games to get those 8 8th-level goals. It was actually quite long lol.
The others weren’t bad at all.. Sudoku is boring though… almost fell asleep lol.
Bev says
There is only 1 flower (with a number on it) on the board at any time. Total game concentration is to bring that number down to zero — match the color (minimum of 3) or knock it down further with row or line arrows. The next board will thrn have a new flower to get rid of.
The game went fast and easy once I got the hang of it. And once you have 10, yo can quit (3 bars upper left corner) and start a new game.
FADEDWILDROSE says
When you are having trouble understanding a game, it is helpful to review previous posts about that game. A handy way to do that here on this wonderful site, Badge Hungry, is to access the tab center top that says “pogo games” and from it’s drop down menu choose “badges & ranks” and when there scroll down to choose the game you want(for example: Lumeno). Near the top of that page is a logo for that game, under which you will usually find a link to “posts about this game”
Sister Tigger57Deb says
TY faded, I am still fairly new here so was not sure (until your post) that there was a “hints and tips” area for games here on pogo. TY again for all who take so much time to answer questions for those of us who are still trying new games! This site rocks as they say.

I guess I cannot finish this marathon. I just don’t get Lumeno. I know it’s like Cookie Connect, but I don’t understand the flower thing. It makes no sense to me at all. I’ll be in big trouble if it ever comes up for a weekly challenge. If somebody could please dumb it down for me, It would be most appreciated.
Happy Monday to all!

Your best bet is to read through this thread, and fadedwildrose gave a wonderful tip as well
theshroad says
I finally figured it out thanks to reading through all the hints here on BH ~ ty ty ty all!! Bev has a good hint. As she said, there is only one flower with a number inside it ~ that number is the number of orbs you need to remove (connected with the flower and the same color). As you remove orbs of the same color connected with the flower, the number goes down. Also if you get rid of some of the other symbols in other colored orbs near the flower, the number may go down. I have noticed that sometimes the number will go down when you remove that symbol going one way but going another way, it won’t change the number (or will change it less). I haven’t played enough to figure out why that happens; I just try doing it different ways to see if I can reduce the number. I’ve gotten 2 of 18 and feel I can finish. It isn’t going to be quick but this morning I was sure I wasn’t going to be able to do this game or the marathon!!

PrairiesDweller says
LUMENO:
Note: Please post any corrections: Thank You.
Each screen has 48 Orbs and 1 Flower. The flower has a number in it.
Every time you get the flower number to 0 you earn 5 more moves and the flower number increases.
The sequence for flower numbers is: 3 10 15 20 25 30 35 40 45 50 55 and so on.
To get credit for the badge you have a flower with the number 55. You DO NOT have to decrease 55,
(not even to 54) just use up your moves.
TIPS:
1. Like Cookie Connect there are 3 power ups. Up Arrow, Down Arrow & Star Like.
2. You can lower the flower number by having a chain that includes the Flower.
3. Even better is to use an arrow power up that points at the flower or the Star Like pu that is near the flower.
Special Tips:
4. Like Cookie Connect the power up moves with the chain so an arrow that DOES NOT point to the flower
can move so it points to the flower. Same with the Star Like power up.
5. YOU DO NOT need the chain to include the flower. You just need an arrow of any colour pointing to the
flower, or Star Like power up near the flower.
6. Like Cookie Connect, you can use more than 1 power up at a time. They have to be connected to each other. They DO NOT have to all be in the chain or the same colour.
Extra Special Tip:
Keep looking at the number in the Flower. As you do the chain that number can change. Of course zero
is the best. But the lower the better. If you hold down your mouse and then move it you can change the
chain. You can even remove orbs. You can reverse the chain completely if you see a better chain. Experiment to get the lowest number in the flower!
Back to Regular Tips:
7. I believe that longer chains give extra power ups. Maybe someone has that info.
8. If the flower cannot be part of a chain look to see if 1 or 2 moves will get the flower into a chain. Especially orbs near the flower. Or another chain with a power up.
Good Luck 😉
RyzandShyn says
Very well done, PrairiesDweller! Thanks.
I particularly like the Extra Special tip – I have often found that if I just keep the mouse held down and move my “trail” around some, I get the number to lower exponentially without having to try and figure it out visually myself. Many times I can get it to 0 this way.
theshroad says
Excellent tips Prairies ~ I have used the power ups in the orbs but wasn’t sure what they meant. I have been able to get at least 10 flowers on each try. I have quit after getting to 11 X and have received credit, just to make it go faster.
Terry
DeeVermont says
PrairiesDweller, excellent instructions and tips! Below I tried to dumb it down even more for those who are still having trouble with this challenge. Please feel free to make any corrections.
1st Grid – look for the flower surrounded by same color orbs (circles) and drag your mouse through it until it says 0 (should take 1 move). Screen will say 2x
NOTE: If you don’t see the same color orbs (at least 3) then quit and start over again.
QUIT: Look for the 3 lines on top left and click on that. You should see Quit at the bottom of the list. Click Yes.
2nd Grid – Flower will have #10 inside, drag through with mouse and try to make a long streak (long streaks make power-ups inside grid which you will need later). Screen will say 3x
NOTE: You don’t always have to drag your mouse through the flower with number. You can experiment with different color orbs that have symbols (power-ups) which will turn your flower to 0. (See PrairiesDweller’s comments on power-ups).
3rd Grid – Flower should say 15 inside, no matching orbs? Try dragging your mouse through a different color that has a symbol or power-up (such as a flower/star or circle with arrows) inside until the flower says 0. I found that the direction you drag your mouse makes a big difference.
HINT: Try different streaks but don’t let go of your mouse until you find a streak that makes the flower turn to 0 or make the number lower. You may want to start at the opposite side of the grid and drag your mouse through a symbol toward the Flower that you want to turn 0. Keep trying different combinations but DON’T let go of your mouse until you find a streak that works.
If your flower # does not get lower drag your mouse through the streak to undo it. Watch the amount of Moves left on upper left side.
Screen should say 4x
4th Grid: Flower will say 20. Repeat above until flower says 0. By making longer streaks you get 5 extra moves and you create power-ups inside the grid.
Screen should say 5x
5th Grid: Flower should have 25 inside. Repeat above (may take 3 or more moves or streaks).
Can use Orbs (circles) of a different color with the symbol of a circle surrounded by 2 arrows.
Repeat above until your grid says 11x then look for the 3 lines on top left and click on QUIT.
Good luck! Dee
MomsBassetHound says
Just 1 thing I want to add to these great directions.
Every single time you remove a flower you will get a pop up telling you that.
I think that in the beginning when people were reducing the # inside the flower, but not getting it to zero, that they thought they had removed a flower when it changed color. It actually does leave the board for a nanosecond.
Suz
DeeVermont says
Thanks Suz, yes a pop up does appear stating “flower removed” along with the multiplier number and the 5 moves added.
I also thought when I first started this challenge that I was removing a flower but I really wasn’t because the number inside the flower didn’t go to zero. It took me awhile to “get it” but eventually I did with the help of others here on BH.
Dee
eggfarmer says
Lumeno
The “flower” that you have to get rid of is the one with the number in the middle and the “petals” that are rotating.
You have to get rid of that flower repeatedly until your multiplier on the top right hand of your screen shows 11X for it to count for this badge.
Every time you get rid of a flower it comes back next round with a higher number of orbs to match to destroy the flower.
You do not need to buy or use the power ups that cost money. What you need to do is to look at the board and try and make a streak of at least 5 orbs in one move. If you do that a power up will appear randomly on the board. The longer the streak – the more power ups will appear on the board.
You have a horizontal power up a vertical power up and a 9 square power up that will be given to you for free if you make the long streaks.
The most effective was to get rid of the flower is to use the power ups you have been given – preferably in combinations as you get higher up the levels and the number of orbs needed to destroy the flower increases.
If you keep your finger on the mouse as you make your streaks and head towards the flower, the number in the flower will change so that you can decide where the best place is to finish the streak to make the most progress.
I basically load the board with the free power ups, look to use a streak to activate one power up which will set off others that will knock the flower out and as many orbs as possible.
Hope this helps
FADEDWILDROSE says
Excellent post Eggfarmer, but I want correct that the minimum number of orbs that need to be connected to generate a power-up is 4 not 5. Connecting 4 to 6 orbs generates 1 boost, connecting 7 to 12 = 2 boosts, 13 and up = 4 boosts.

I found the best way to win was to use a different color with an arrow and shoot the flower. Make sure the arrow points at the flower and make it as long as possible, When you get close the flower shows how many more moves it has, Any color bombs work, hook up 2 and blast away. The more circles you connect, the more bombs you get,

Lumeno — I don’t like it! Anyway, at the beginning it’s pretty easy to remove a flower just by doing the Cookie Connect matching. Longer streaks starting birthing power ups which in later stages are the only way to get rid of flowers. Keep your eye on the flower count. You can get to zero with a different color power up and take the move. It’s not always easy for sure. And don’t quit until the MIDDLE number after removing a flower reads 11. It’s a slog and sure hope it doesn’t become one of Pogo’s favorite games.
Ryz, had the same thought on Trizzle! Had never had that much trouble getting to level 8. Finished it but annoyed.!
GL everyone!

Catherine L says
For the Lumeno badge the flowers are the ones with the number in them and you go up a multiplier to get 5 extra moves. At the start 3 is in the flower meaning to get rid of 3 of the same colour as the flower including the flower. As you go up, you need more and more. The higher the number the more power ups I use on the board to help me get to the next multiplier plus an extra 5 moves. The power ups on the board must be able to contain the flower so the number keeps dropping down with each power up you use. To get 10 you must reach 11 for the 10 to count.

Well have tried Lumeno dont like it, don’ t understand how to get the flowers have no power ups either, and to win 18 games! not a chance in h** l and of course its had to be the one I started first oh well that will teach me lol
Sal says
To get power ups in grid (horizontal arrow, vertical arrow, or star) you need to connect at least 4 orbs of the same color. See previous posts for numbers.
Then use those powerups to attack flowers. Watch number inside flower to see what effect your chain with power up is having to reduce number. When number in flower gets to zero, flower will be removed and popup will appear to increase multiplier and add 5 more moves. Next flower will appear so continue removing flowers until multiplier reaches 11X.

Jin and Word Whomp are pretty quick, Trizzle is bearable if you are willing to use power-ups, slow if you aren’t, but the other three are just LONG. 10 Lumeno games would have been plenty, and 10-15 sudokus and 15-20 roses in the other two games would make a lot more sense. This way, with having to do them one at a time, I am quickly getting bored out of my mind with the long badges. Very meh.

This is the dumbest game going! I hate it! I can’t get past 9 and am going to give up.

I finished Lumeno and it made more sense once I got 10 flowers. I can only add a little in the way of hints since I never did quite feel I knew what I was doing. But here goes:
If I couldn’t clear the first flower in one move, I started a new game. And did the same for the second flower so I got 10 extra moves and only used two.
I worked on long streaks to get the power up (never figured out how many you need) and those were my focus to knock out the flower when it needed a lot to count down to zero and go away. Connecting power ups that aren’t the same color works amazingly well, just keep your eye on the flower number.
Later you get the lone flower needing 35 or 45 and I’d use the column power up to just remove it. Finally you get a reasonable count.
I saved power ups as much as I could. They combine well to knock out a flower much better than trying to connect the flower color.
This probably doesn’t make much sense. 😀 And I hate the game. This was not a reasonable challenge to introduce a new game.
If I can do it, anyone can do it!

While it has been pointed out that Lumeno is similar to Cookie Connect, I think that it might be helpful for some people to think of how much it is like Bejeweled Stars. I say that because the main thrust of this game is figuring out how best to use power-ups (boosts). Fortunately, in Lumeno you don’t have to buy boosts but you create them by making matches at least 4 orbs long.

IMO this was the WORST ever marathon. Hated it. Well still
not done but it will be. I love cookie I love JA I HATE Lumeno lol.
This getting older thing isn’t helping much either but the alternative
is even worse lol.. I was whining to a friend about they did something
to Trizzle. She laughed and said they aren’t n/m probably anyway I think
it’s just the dang older thing….I did still get some good ones but nada like
I used to!

Excellent directions Dee. For clarification: :
“4th Grid: Flower will say 20. Repeat above until flower says 0. By making longer streaks
I4 or more orbs) you create power-ups inside the grid.”
As Moms pointed out: When you remove the flower, you will see a large pop up that says you increased multiplier and get 5 additional moves.
Note: When flower reaches bottom of grid and disappears, it is NOT removed. It will reappear at the top of the grid. Only when that pop up says multiplier increase and 5 extra moves have you removed a flower.
Continue until multiplier reaches 11X.. Then you can QUIT that game and start next one. You must reach 11X 18 times to complete badge.

Hi Sal, thanks for the clarification. When the flower does reach the bottom of the grid it jumps to the top and is not removed even though for a split second it appears like it’s gone. The flower must state 0 inside and the pop-up will appear as you stated.
I completed the badge and sometimes I went to 12X just to make sure I would get credit. This is definitely not one of my favorite games but on the positive side I was “forced” to learn how to do this type of challenge so if we get another one like this I will know how to play it. Live and learn.

Thanks for writing about being able to QUIT – I was hesitant to try it once I got to 11X but didn’t want to play any longer than I had to, so I switched over to BH and found your post. Whew !

I read all of the comments. But, what helped the most is going to YouTube and watching the game played 3 times. I got 10 flowers and didn’t get credit. Next game I got 12 flowers and got credit. I understand the game enough to get flowers, and I picked it first, so I am determined to (God willing) finish it and the other games which I like more (so far) to finish this marathon. I am a visual learner. I can read about a game all day long, but when I SEE if played I learn.

is there any way to activate a new event challenge/ I don’t like the one i am on, but want to complete others for Pogis. It wo
MomsBassetHound says
Unfortunately Pogo changed the rules about 6 months ago for any event that has the word “Marathon” as part of it’s name.
You can only activate 1 game at a time, and you cannot change your mind and switch to another game. You have to finish what you have activated before moving on.

A big “SHOUT OUT” to all the BH fans that posted tips on Lumeno!! I only ever played the game one time when we had the challenge to match colored orbs. I didn’t know where to start with the current badge. After reading through this thread a few times I tackled the game. I couldn’t believe how easily I got the badge done. So again thank you all! You rock!
