How important are stats to you?

The weekend open thread is a regular feature at BadgeHungry. Every weekend, we answer the discussion question above, and chat about anything game-related. It’s a great place to test the waters of commenting and introduce yourself, ask for help with a game or challenge, or talk about your games and make friends.

  1. None to me. But ev1 is different. I only look at
    them to find out how close I am to getting to
    next rank lol. I do love badges!

    Wow lots of sales. Nice! Lots of free badges even
    nicer lol. This free pogis will help lots. I usually do get
    to the end. But know not ev1 does.

    • I’m not interested in stats, pogis, or badges. My priorities have certainly changed. There was a time playing for a badge was a must for me. No longer. Since some of the games I tried to play required power ups (hence buying gems) to progress in the game, I decided badges aren’t a priority for me.

      I now only play games I enjoy. I will play a weekly challenge IF I like the game, if not, that’s ok I also don’t bother in trying to complete a games ranks if you can’t go back to prior levels. Just my off the wall way of gaming now.

      I used to enjoy shopping for mini items and dressed my mini differently each week and for the seasons and holidays. That also has been taken away from us. Oh well times do change,
      unfortunately when you reach my age change is a bit harder to take.

      • There’s no new mini content being added, but that shouldn’t stop you from enjoying your mini. There are still members that change every day. I change mine, but normally just for the holidays. Anything that you had in your closet is still there.

  3. my goal has always been BADGES ! ! nothing
    else mattered. but Its not as much fun as it was
    “” IN THE OLD DAYS ”
    since I’ve been here, since b/4 it was POGO
    I can’t seem to leave . . .

  4. I am more interested in ranks in a game than stats. It is now so hard to find my rank in most games. Especially if there are hidden rank badges. The one question I have is how to find the high stats for Monopoly Saduko (sp). I have not been able to see any place on the game to check it out.

  5. Some of them, like Pogis, because I get power ups and gems to achieve certain levels. The other ones are just fun to look at and reminiscence about how I got the badges. 🙂 Most of the time they don’t matter.

  6. I have no interest in stats…only badges.

    On another note: Would it be possible for members to tell the answers to the 2 truths and a lie game from last week? I’m always wondering what the real answers are…:)

  7. What are the chances cards in monopoly soduk II really don’t play the game to know. Thank you and have a good weekend

    • The chance cards give (or take) dollars which are used to purchase properties and upgrades.
      In the upper left corner of the main screen you’ll see a treasure chest and the $ amount for that day. If you reach that goal then you get additional $

      The harder the game, the more chance cards you get. There’s 5 in expert level.
      If you don’t like your chance cards, then you can click on the house in the upper left corner of the playing screen and it will bring you back to the main screen. When you go back in your chance cards are reset for better picks. If you’re playing on expert level, then you have to go back into that level to get the same playing grid. You don’t have to start a whole new game.

  8. Don’t care about Stats or Pogis – only play for Badges and have completed all the December events, 25 days, Gingerbread, etc.

  9. I only look through my stats in a game for one reason:
    It is rare, but once in a while there is a stat in a game that can be used to directly or indirectly assess how close or far I am from earning a Game Award Badge in that game that I haven’t won yet.
    I’ve never understood why more of the stats don’t reference those – like keeping a count on how many arrow or stars I’ve made in Cookie Connect, or how many special things I’ve removed in Jewel Academy. I imagine that I’d play more if I saw I were getting close to reaching a Game Award Badge, and I imagine they’d be happy to have people play more…oh well.

  10. What happened to POGO releasing the whole history of mini’s that was promised in the fall ? 😢

      Hi everyone! I hope everyone is having a wonderful day! Back in August we informed you that Minis would be targeting a release this fall. The team has taken time to review that plan and has identified some ways to improve the release of the feature. As a result, Minis will not be released this fall. We want to take additional time to ensure that updates of the best quality are released. Once we have more information we will be sure to share with you all! We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused

  11. i don’t really care about the stats. I play for badges and for pogis in order to get power ups and gems. I just enjoy playing the games and the challenge of completing badges.

  13. Not interested in stats. I like badges & Pogis for the rewards we earn though I wish the rewards were A little better.

    • Even though some of the power ups aren’t something that I will use I do know that there is someone out there that was thrilled when they finished that tier and received them.

      But I can always use those free gems to buy whatever I want.

  14. In the ‘old days’ I loved checking out stats, my particular favorite was seeing how many Payday Freecell games I had won in a row (I had over 1,800). Now, post-conversion, I couldn’t care less about them. Part of that has to do with the ease of chat, believe it or not. Chat was visible to everyone playing the game in that room at the time, and you could join in or not, check the stats of other players to your own, etc. Now, chat has to be purposefully opened, and I don’t know about anyone else, but when I’ve done it, it seems full of trolls trying to bully everyone into arguments. Definitely not a ‘friendly’ environment and why I never bother with chat anymore. No more friends online willing to meet up with and try to outdo each other in certain stats means they’ve become pointless since the friendly competitions are gone.

    The only time I click on it now is to see how close I am to the next rank… and even that is extremely uninformative. Exactly what is classified as ‘rank points’ in specific games and how and how many do we earn per game? Instead of telling us what we’d really like to know, we get things like this that I retrieved from Jigsaw Treasure Hunter – weekly tab – says I played 2 games (which, by the way, I haven’t played any since our last daily):
    Total time played_____________________________2449
    Total Time Played Normal and Above_________2449
    Total Time Played Hard and Above____________2449
    Total Time Played Elite and Above____________2449
    Total Time Played Master____________________0
    “2449”… what does that even mean?!?!? It can’t be seconds because it’s *never* taken me 20 minutes to complete a puzzle. *smh*

  16. I don’t care about stats, ranks, or anything other than just badges since Pogo is not doing anything to make our badge books any better after all the changes. They say they are working on it when you go to the old site, but they are not.
    Seems they just want to keep putting out the badges like crazy , but there’s nowhere to see ranks or what’s completed like before.
    Not good. They need to re’vamp all that .

    • We can still use the “My Collection” on the Classic side, and that gives us access to everything that we’ve ever had.

      Just click on your avatar > profile > gear > my collection

      All your albums are there, and you can go thru any of them to see what you’ve completed, and what you haven’t.

      You can see all the Game Award Badges by looking in your Game Award Album, or use “find a badge” just we always have.

      If you can’t find something specifically just ask and someone will be able to tell you how to find it.

      • Help Suz! I check my game awards on the Classic side. But, I am not showing Monopoly Sudoku. I just wanted to see what they added recently.

        • I’m not Suz, but I can answer.

          Once you are on the classic ‘My Collections’ page, scroll down and click on the ‘Game Award Badges’ album.

          Once you are on that page, above the album you should see two drop down scroll bars. Click on the right one that says ‘All Badges’, then click on and drag the scroll bar down to the ‘M’s’… you should see ‘MONOPOLY Sudoku’ above all of the Mahjong games, click on it and then click the ‘Search’ button to the right.

        • If you use the Game Award Album you can just search for Monopoly Sudoku, but if you want to use “find a badge” you have to use all games. Then I change it to 100 a page and skip pages until I get close to the M’s. I like the “find a badge” better because it shows the whole badge, even if you haven’t earned it yet.

  17. Stats are not important to me…..now!

    But back in the old Pogo days I liked to look at my stats (and did it often) to see my winning percentage or how many games I have played and won, (total and session), and other interesting stats (for me)
    May sound silly but looking at all those numbers gave me a sense of accomplishment and made me feel kind of proud of myself, specially in games that were hard (for me) like Risk and such.
    Stats were also useful to check your progress towards a in-game achievement badges other than ranks.

    I could care less about the stats we have now.
    There is hardly any interesting or relevant numbers in there and they are incomplete and help me nothing.
    But, IMHO, the worse is that they are, for the most part, innacurate. I’m never sure if what they show is the truth or not.
    One day you think you finally understood how they calculate a certain stat just to find out the nest day that it wasn’t really “that way”. It’s like they fill out with random numbers just for the sake of having a Stats page.
    I don’t care for that.

  18. Stats, I use to see how close I am to the next Rank in a game. *Rank Badges and in-game-badges are what I play for, along with the weekly/marathon/event badges

  19. Monopoly Sudoku
    Which are the properties causing trouble? The green or the dark blue or both?
    I finally unlocked all and now I want to keep building as much as I can but not sure where and when stop building and leave any property “under construction” before I start getting any error messages or not being able to collect rents.
    Any help is much appreciated, thanks.

    • On city #1 it’s the dark blue property.

      On city #2 it’s the 1st green property.

      I’ve continued to build on the troublesome property, but just put it right back into construction when I take it out for the star count.

      • I didn’t have trouble with city #1, so I don’t know what the trouble is with the 1st green in City 2 or even what that is. Is it something to avoid so it doesn’t mess up the game? Can you please explain?

        • If you get the rent error just build something on the 1st green property and leave it that way until you are ready to build on it again. That fixes the rent error in city #2 for those that are getting an error.

        Now I think I’m going to keep the green under construction for now, no building at all. I still have tons of upgrades to do on all the other properties but only a few millions and the green property is expensive to upgrade,. I guess is better to keep it under construction while I keep making money to build all around first.
        But will see what works better as I go

        • I keep taking mine out of construction and building again so that when it’s time to move on I don’t have to start from scratch.

  20. I agree with what Nessa said and several others. In the ‘old’ Pogo it was fun!!! Now I enjoy seeing my progress as I go along. But I am NOT in such a hurry any longer.
