I really like getting free challenges from Pogo. On this new 25 day challenge you have to start with No. 1 and go through all the challenges in order. What if you don’t play the first game? I guess you’re just out of luck earning any badge for the 25 day challenge.
DeeVermont says
This is one event I am really enjoying! I’m almost done with Mahjong Sanctuary and will start Snowbird. I love Quinn’s and don’t mind Snowbird at all. The rest of the games are also fun.
Good luck and grab those free pogis!
Dee
Mary says
Wish Pogo would give us a choice of games so those who don’t know how to play a particular game or those who don’t care for a game could still earn the animated badge
Joellen Fry says
I absolutely agree with you.
Faith says
Yes, you have to do each badge in order starting with #1. After you do one badge, the next one is available to play.
RyzandShyn says
WOW, thanks Lura for posting all 25! That’s a HUGE help because I can gauge which I can do quickly to get to the ones that will take a bit of effort/time, and hopefully finish them all.
All will be fun for me except for Quinns and Mahjong Garden, both of which I don’t care for at all.
RyzandShyn says
PS. I didn’t see them listed on their own Pogo Event page – I must have been scrolling too quickly this morning trying to figure out how much “new stuff” there was today. 🙂
daxmomma says
Thanks for nothing Pogo! Another event where you must do the badges in order and I don’t play Canasta (or any multi-player card games for that matter) so I can’t participate. The exact same thing happened the last time they had this badge scheme, the very first one was for a game I don’t play. And from reading the comments here, I’m not the only one not happy with this “non-celebration”. Merry Christmas. To others that play the games — enjoy!

Hi Cindy,
I used to get helpers for people like you.
I don’t have the time now.
But if are willing to try, reply to my comment.
I believe someone will offer to guide you in a 2 player game using private chat.
The badge can be win in 1 hand.
tiggerlicious196 says
If needed I’m available to help with whatever
daxmomma says
Thank you so much for your kind offer Tigger. But looking at the setup there’s Jungle Gin and Spades as well in there. That’s too many games at which I am clueless as to how to play. And I have just never been one to play cards (other than Solitaire). And life is too short to spend time doing something you don’t really want to do for the sake of a few pixels.
But again, thank you so much. It’s one of the many things I like about this group.
Cheers!
~Cindy
Joellen Fry says
Cindy, well said.
Susan says
Most of the time I play Canasta by myself. I pick the 4 “person” (me and 3 bots) version and games go fairly quickly. I’ve earned every badge I’ve tried so far and had no issues. “Forcing” us to play games we haven’t played or don’t like has taught me to learn to like and get far better at Quinn’s, and several other games I would not otherwise have played. There are very few I actually dislike now that I’ve learned to play almost all of them decently. It just takes practice and I earn badges while practicing!
pamdew says
Susan well said!!! That is me to a tee. I play the 3bots also which gives the red 3 to my count from my partner etc.
I have found new games that I wouldn’t have tried had I not been “forced”
BUT I love playing games
Sharon says
I like Quinn’s. I can win most games pretty easily. If I cannot, the shuffle is great. One shuffle and the game is winnable.
theshroad says
I agree Susan. I had never played canasta, spades or euchre but learned them due to challenges in them. They aren’t my favorites but not my least favorite either. Of course, I do enjoy card games so I suppose that helps. But, there are other games I don’t care for but like the challenge of learning to play them and improve my strategies. I don’t worry about getting it done on the first day but usually they can be done fairly easily in the time frame pogo gives us.
spendmoney_ says
I’m with you, Cindy! Bah Humbug, Pogo. That is no way to celebrate Christmas. You pretend to give us 25 gifts, but if we can’t do the first one, we get nothing. Very unfair. We’re all paid members.
DeeVermont says
spendmoney, Pogo didn’t pretend to give us 25 gifts, they did give it to us. If you can’t play Canasta (one of my favorites) then ask for help and we would be more then happy to give you instructions or play with you including myself. What is unfair is when members refuse to take the help offered to them.
I’m offering you help then the balls in your court.
Dee
spendmoney_ says
Thanks for the offer of help, Dee. I did read up on how to play. It just sounded too complicated, especially when I’m in the middle of Christmas shopping, gift wrapping and sending Christmas cards.
shelnick9293 says
If I remember I didn’t get very far the last time mostly because of QA. I did the 1st four even the QA one because it was easy enough but to stick another one in the event is where I stopped before. This time I will probably end on the 21st one. Too bad as I will be close to the end but I will not play QA. I just don’t like that game. With all the games that are available there is no reason to do two of any.
Susan says
I didn’t used to like it either but frankly I stunk at it! I took some practice and learning to recognize which “boards” I could do well. The great big ones with lots and lots of tiles get me badges every time now and I would have been willing to bet, once upon a time, that that would never happen!
Sharon says
The thing about Quinn’s is just because you see a move it does not mean it is the best one.
spendmoney_ says
I found that if you use the shuffle power up in Quinn’s, you can win every time.; So I bought gems on sale. I bought shuffles on sale. I can sail through Quinn’s and even enjoy it. I don’t like to buy power ups, so this was a stretch for me, but I find that I actually enjoy Quinn’s now.
MomsBassetHound says
I really don’t like the way the Event is set up, had my hissy fit in August when they did it the 1st time. But it’s obvious that Pogo doesn’t care whether we like it or not. That said, I will complete it on both of my accounts for the 13,100 free Pogis.
Good Luck & Enjoy!
Suz
nessa says
Maybe I’m in the minority but I really I’m Ok with the way it is, for 2 reasons mainly:
– Because I play any game (no matter how much I hate it), any challenge or requirement for a badge. The order in which they have to be done is same for me, I will do them all no matter if the game/s I don’t like come first or last.
– Because they are free and guess I can say I finally learned not to complain (or complain less lol ) about Pogo gifts or any free content. Just like the saying goes “don’t look a gift horse in the mouth”. In this particular case I rather do the badges in whatever order Pogo decided for me to do them than not having free badges at all.
And what I really like is that you can activate next badge as soon as you finish the previous one.
At first I thought it was “One Day – One Badge” only, similar to and Advent calendar so it was a nice surprise to see that badge #2 unlocked as soon as I finished badge #1.
DeeVermont says
nessa, you are not in the minority as I feel the same way you do. I don’t look a gift horse in the mouth. Pogo didn’t have to give us all these free challenges which include lots of pogis yet they did. I enjoy doing them in order and I like knowing when I finish one challenge that I already know what my next challenge will be. No surprises.
I’m up to #10 (Cookie Connect) and look forward to #11 (First Class Solitaire) as I enjoy that game.
I’m not the sort of person to complain about Pogo (except for multi-activating) because there are real life issues to complain about. 🙂 It’s all about perspective for me.
Dee
tiggerlicious196 says
I am the same way as you both, I am ok with this way of doing the event- I may dislike a game or few, but I still do them because it is relaxing and is something I enjoy, also takes the stress of the real world away even if for a moment
catania1966 says
Firstly let me say – YES – there are more important things than Pogo – gasp, shock horror lol
and if these last 2 years have taught us anything, its perspective and whats really important to us all
I really have only 2 issues with the format apart from just not liking it – but thats just a personal opinion
Firstly the doubling up of games – just give us some variety – please – we all know there are at LEAST 25 games in pogo
Secondly, and this is the main one – some players CANNOT play ALL games. Whether by choice, because they dont like it etc,or they are challenged by certain games,OR and here is the main point – they CANNOT physically play the damn game due to a pogo glitch or issue.
Pogo knows there are glitches in games, they KNOW some people CANNOT play certain games for whatever reason – most of the time it is a POGO issue, not a persons computers issue and we all know Pogo is slow to put it mildly at fixing glitches – so if they get stuck at a game they cant play, thats it – all over red rover.Take your ball and go home – the game is over
So just maybe Pogo should consider THAT when they introduce this format of events – just my humble opinion
take care all – enjoy
Linda says
I am one of the people that has a glitch. I haven’t been able to play Jet Set Solitaire since January 13. I am unable to complete the event missing out on over 9,000 pogis not to mention all of the badges.
JillianVP says
Have you tried clearing your cache, trying a different browser, or possibly using a different device (phone vs computer)? If you don’t have ‘easy’ access to one, you could always try your public library, they usually have public computers you can ‘check out’ some time on.
I wish you good luck that something will help and you don’t miss out.
cortnum says
Even though only one badge can be activated at any time and they must be done in order , I think this challenge is wonderful. The increasing amount of Pogis is much more than we see in other challenges and the whole thing is free. Look at this challenge as an opportunity and enjoy it.
Paulette Davidson says
I got to #4, but it is Quinn’s and it is impossible. If you got credit for the tiles you removed and couldn’t finish the puzzle, that would be one thing, but you have to win the stupid thing. I guess I stop there.
Hels says
All the individual challenges aren’t bad, but I have two issues with this event: the multi-activation, which was already mentioned, and the fact that they couldn’t come up with 25 unique games and instead we have two Quinn’s, two Snowbird, and two Sanctuary challenges. Really? BORING. But I will still complete it, for the Pogies and because I don’t mind the games themselves.
shelnick9293 says
I am now on Day 24. Can’t believe I made it through QA but then I and the shuffles finally completed it but I still don’t like the game but without the power-ups, I wouldn’t have finished it. Now the Surfboard one is going to be another difficult one for me so maybe a few power-ups will help.
RyzandShyn says
WOW – I remember you posting about how much you dislike the game (like me) so good for you for getting through it for this event! And almost done already? That’s great.
I was going to stop at #31 because 30 games of Quinn’s sounds like a Holiday Headache to me, but you give me hope – kinda…lol.
shelnick9293 says
Thanks, and to my surprise I even won a few games without power-ups. What’s this world coming to…………lol
Cindy4764 says
I think you mean stop at 21 because I’m now at 22 which is QA, Yikes, 30 games and I even like the game but that’s a lot! 😬 , I’ll do it though because the last three are all favorites of mine. Luckily I moved right along with this event and paired the badges with other challenges so I can afford to slow down a bit and not try to do all 30 in a couple of days. 😊
RyzandShyn says
Yes, stopping at #21 was my plan, but I also love everything that comes after that 30 game Quinn’s badge too 🙂 We’ll see.
DeeVermont says
Congratulations shelnick! I also remember how much you hated QA and look at you now. I’m so proud of you! I’m almost done with QA and yes, Snowbird will take some time but Pogo has given us the time.
Dee
Paulette Davidson says
I finally muddled through the 4th challenge QA and now am at 22 another QA. I have several power-ups, but I have tried to play this one 3 times and each time when I have run out of moves and try to use a power-up, I get an error message and the game shuts down. Cannot continue and lose the power-up. They really need to get the bugs out of these games. Not Fair to have to lose everything, especially on a game you Hate!
tiggerlicious196 says
Likely isn’t the game, but Pogo itself
Patricia A Babowitch says
there was an issue for everyone it seems to be fixed now
theshroad says
I discovered with Cookie Connect that you don’t have to WIN the game. If you lose, but go all the way through the puzzle, you still get credit. I know I could do 25 on level one but I like some variety so I will play the easier levels, usually up to level 10.
nessa says
I wanted to complete all 25 badges by tomorrow (Sunday) night but not sure I’ll be able to do it.
I got stucked doing Snowbird #8 which is what kept me behind.
One thing is sure, I’m not looking towards #22 QA but the one Im really really dreading is #24 Snowbird, win 40 games, 20 games was already hard, 40 seems close to impossible and in a game I hate.
But there’s still plenty of time and I’m going for all!
theshroad says
I know what you mean nessa. I did make it through the 20 games of snowbird (not how I usually refer to it but will be nice here) without too much difficulty. Not looking forward to winning 40 games but I know I can do it. Most of them are not too bad and not too long so having to do them in order hasn’t been too bad.
shelnick9293 says
Well finished the 25 days but for me, the Jungle Gin game was one of the easiest to win so I am surprised it was the last one. I would have thought that QA or SS would have earned that honor but glad that it is over.
DeeVermont says
Congratulations! Dee
Kay says
I have made it to #22 which will take time since I don’t buy powerups and have to keep hitting new game until I get one that is doable. The final 3 days are games I like so it will be fun and easy. Thank Pogo for all the Pogis. This will be the first time I have been able to get 50 gems twice.
Happy Holidays to all.
Beverly says
I finished it. Very nice pogis gifts for the last ones.
For Quinn’s challenges I always do the challenge rounds, and very seld0m have to use a powerup. Because of the length of this one though, I did shorter levels and once it was half through did a shuffle to finish it.
DeeVermont says
Congratulations Beverly! Dee
Kathy says
I am halfway thru the event i am at no 13… i hope i can try to finish by Dec 25
RyzandShyn says
Those bullying Quinn sisters finally lightened up on me. I reported their bullying ways so I hope they finally got in trouble for it. 🙂
I got through the 30 games without much damage. As others have reported, 1 shuffle was enough to get through it when I got stuck toward the end of a round.
So happy I can now finish the event with games I like and benefit from all those Pogis!
Kathy says
i finished the event and did all 25 badges… i am glad it is complete . got the badge for the event
most of the badges are not hard to get and Quinns’ i use the shuffle power up for the games i could not win
an Snowbird i plowed throught it…. good luck Happy Holidays
Jon C says
I finished all 25 different challenges. The hardest is #22.
