  5. Nice! I was keeping my eye on the calendar and hoping for this sale over the big shopping weekend.
    Yesterday I was down to my last 20 gems and was playing the last 3 M&M badges I had to play.
    I’m in much better shape today – purchased gems and badges.

  8. These sales couldn’t have been any more perfectly timed for me if they had tried!!! The latest release of platinum badges dropped me down to my last 25 gems and I had been fearing another tempting offer or trying to finish my last 30 games of Quinn’s to complete the monthly and Harvest Feast badges before their deadlines. Like Moms, I saved most of my stimulus check… so now I plan to stock up and buy 3 of the largest packs (I just need to make a quick trip to the bank to deposit the cash back in… damn SSI restrictions). Hopefully, that will be enough to last me until the next gem’s sale… it should since I restrict myself on my purchases.

    I only buy what I consider ‘good offers’. Platinum badges (20 gems for 600 Pogis), collections (12.8 to 13 gems for 200-400 Pogis), and all but Scrabble Mix & Match sales of 12 gems each. I’ve only played Scrabble once since they converted… I’ve earned 19 out of 40 badges (only 2 are purchased, other 19 have ‘Buy Now’) before I realized it was dumb of me to keep buying them. I also buy the Hidden Object scenes when they are on sale, and now they are a FULL 50% OFF! I know I’ll be busy buying up all of the episodes I haven’t yet gotten in all of those games.

    I live on a very limited income with SSI Disability and Pogo is my one and only ‘gift’ I give myself permission to splurge on… IF the price is right. LOL Happy shopping everyone!!!

    Oh, before I forget… can someone who has some ‘clout’ make a suggestion to Pogo to change the Pogi system rewards to pay out gems for every level… say 2x each level? I know we’d feel a lot more rewarded earning 20 gems at level 10 and not having to struggle so hard to reach level 18 three times every 60 days for a measly 50 much-needed gems. The vast majority of power-ups they give out are never even used, and the additional gem rewards wouldn’t really hurt them, it may even boost more players to want to try harder.

    • Agree with you Jillian, on most of your points. I find myself struggling to complete the second tier, only to get 50 gems… and what’s worse, SPENDING gems to do it. That’s stupid. So I stop.

    • Oops! I did the math after I posted and realized that asking for 2x each level might be too much to ask for. Proposing 1x each level equates to 171 gems earned per tier… 2x would be 342 and I know they’d never go for that… we all know they’re tightwads! lol

      • I don’t understand your math.

        We currently get 50 gems for the 18 tiers in Bronze, 50 gems for the 18 tiers in Silver, and 50 gems for the 18 tiers in Gold. That’s 150 gems for 54 tiers (18 X 3).

        • I misspoke when I said ‘per tier’, I forgot they call them ‘prestige’. My proposed math would be 1x gem for each level (tier). Receive 1 for level 1, 2 for level 2, etc.:

          1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9+10+11+12+13+14+15+16+17+18 = 171 (1x for each tier)

          All three prestige would be 513 gems if we got so far that we complete the constellation and earned the final gold badge. Considering how many thousands we spend to buy the badges needed, this would make it hurt a lot less.

    • Hi Jillian – I’m glad you mentioned the HOG episode sale. I saw it but didn’t investigate until I read your post. I used to buy the Clue and Claire when there was a sale, but haven’t interested in buying the new Claire. However, when I saw it was 10 gems an episode, I went to the BH page for the new Claire and looked through until I found a Case I thought was pretty enough that I’d enjoy playing it and then went and purchased it. It’ll be nice to have it to play for a badge instead of always playing Case 1.

    • Looking at the fact that 50 gems are only worth about $5 I wonder how much we do spend to even complete all 3 levels. I am sure that receiving $15 of gems for completing all levels will never match the number of gems we purchase in order to complete bronze, silver, and gold levels as there would never be enough free badges to complete all 3. I think that 100 gems for each level would be a much better offer because I am sure there are some who never complete them all and including me sometimes & would think that would encourage more to buy. Otherwise, spend $5 for the gems and forget the whole Pogis thing and not worry about completing the 3 levels.

  11. grrr Wish we knew the sale was coming, I was down to 11 gems so I purchased a large package when my SS check was deposited on Wed. I wanted to make sure I had gems for the upcoming badges. Naturally I went off the wall when I saw the sale. But I still bought 2 more packages on sale. These better last me to the New Year, Pogo you are my life and will probably be my death. LOL

    • You are not alone ☹ I bought a $40 pack yesterday (Thur) so I could buy the Thanksgiving LE badge. It did not even occur to me that Pogo would have a Black Friday sale on gems. If I keep playing Pogo, I will probably end up in a room with padded walls 😵 Always glad for a gem sale tho, hope Pogo has one for Christmas 🎄

  12. Most of the hidden object game episodes are on sale as well at 50% off. The only exclusions are the four most recent Claire Hart and StoryQuest episodes and 12 most recent Paranormal Destinations and Winter Wonderland episodes.

  16. I was really happy well I call it a gem deal lol. More bang for my
    $$’s.

    I too was very happy with Hogs on sale. I have bought some over the
    years but know they sometimes will go down to 4 gems and I even had
    8 SQuests episodes I could get for 10 gems a piece. 4 is better but even
    on sale SQ is 15 …..10 is better lol.

  18. I am sickened that my gems keep being taken. Last month I bought some and 270 disappeared. Took me forever and so much hassle to get POGO to give them back. Today something called FIVEHUNDRED_GEM took 700 of them. Just poof. It shows up as that in my gem transaction. Now I wish I would have just cancelled POGO. They have some sort of bug or something doing this. Anyone ever have this happen to them?

      • I know what is happening. Everyone take heed. This gem problem seems to occur if you go in and click like you are going to purchase a gem pack but then don’t follow through. Paypal sends a charge to EA which confuses them. They think you bought the pack and then take it away. You are left with a negative gem balance. So beware. It is really hard to get the gems back. I have been on the phone over an hour and they insist I spent the gems. How can I spend 700 gems at once. EA customer service is a nightmare.
