Happy Weekend Everyone!
Do you dress up for Halloween?
The weekend open thread is a regular feature at BadgeHungry. Every weekend, we answer the discussion question above, and chat about anything game-related. I only dress up my Pogo mini for Halloween. In real life I just stay in my jeans and look forward to seeing all the kidlets that come to the door in their outfits.
Happy Halloween everyone! BOO

My husband and I dressed up one year and went to a few neighbors homes, we came home with 2 apples, 4 pennies and 2 sticks of dentine gum and a headache with all the good cheer that the
neighbors shared. “Trick or treat smell our feet, give us something good to eat!:
WE HAD A BALL!

I don’t dress up for Halloween but, I love to see all the happy kiddos dressed up and having fun. I live in an age restricted community so I don’t get any more trick or treaters.:(
Have a happy Halloween!
Cher 🙂

I don’t wear a real costume, but as a (retired) teacher I have a fair collection of Halloween shirts, sweatshirts, scarves, socks, earrings, deely boppers, and whatnot – enough to be festively festooned for the kids 🙂

No, I don’t dress for Halloween. I live in my sweats as I like to be comfortable.
Living in a rural area there aren’t any kids close by. I used to drive to a nearby town to meet a friend along with her grandchildren as all the stores (which are not many) would hand out candy to the children and do face paintings, have the kids decorate cupcakes and cookies.
That reminds me that my Mom used to make Halloween cupcakes and decorate them with candy corn, etc. when I was very young. When it was time to go trick-or-treating all the kids in the neighborhood would first come to my house to get a cupcake. 🙂
Happy Halloween everyone!

When I worked at Moore Business Forms, later took over by RR Donnelly, we did Halloween Big Time. Every Dept. tried to out do the other. We’d decide on a theme & everyone in our Dept. would dress accordingly. Things got really elaborate. Took 2 days to clean up the place.
The year I retired we were an Epidemic Hospital & we all dressed as Doctors & Nurses who caught the Zombie disease. Such fun, we won the award. We all stood outside on the steps by entrance doors to have our picture taken. You should have heard all the horns honking & people calling out to us.
Not much work done because we always did a potluck so called lunch, which means you eat all day from 8am to 5pm. Oh yes we also did a costume parade & voted on best costumes too.
Wore my costume home as usual. Really scared a bunch of kids. LOL even startled a parent or 2.
Alas once I retired I stopped dressing up.
Happy Halloween all

I don’t have a costume, per se, but I always wear some kind of shirt that says something Halloween-y on it. Plus earrings and socks and pins and things like that. I have all kinds of these things and it is fun to join in just a little bit on the festivities. I always enjoy Halloween!

I forgot to say HAPPY HALLOWEEN ALL!!

Since I haven’t had trick or treaters for almost 20 years, I don’t dress up anymore. I do wash my face in order to scare anyone who might come to my door!!!!🤣

HAHAHAHAHA I love your sense of humor

I always told people I didn’t have to be worried about being grabbed at night. They’d get me under a street light and die of fright🤣

When we were self-employed with our own handmade chocolates store, I always wore my black dress and a witch’s hat there; after the store closed for the day, I would head home and add my familiar (mini-dachshund) and we would hand out any chocolate-covered Oreos that were left at the store. I’m not sure if the trick-or-treaters came to see the doxie or for the Oreos, but I do know that few of the young ones actually ate the cookies, as their parents would immediately confiscate them for their own! Good times 🧹
Today would have been my brother’s birthday, which brings back another memory. I was the oldest, Michael second in birth order. But I used to complain about trick-or-treating with him, as in Ohio, Beggar’s Night was the 30th, not 31st, and he would tell everyone that it was his birthday–and thus he got extra treats from all the neighbors! 😡 SOOOOOOO unfair to your typical 5 – 7 year old!
Happy Hallowe’en to all 🎃 Be safe…coco

I’m sorry about your brother. Today……errr….yesterday now, would have been my Mother’s birthday also. She’s been gone five years, and I still miss her.

I enjoy dressing my Mini -Me as well! Love all the choices Pogo gave us for our minis for all occasions but particularly enjoyed Halloween & Christmas.
I no longer dress Halloween -y for the season though I used to do it before retirement.
Happy Halloween all!

The number of trick or treaters has been steadily declining over the years but when it’s my turn to answer the door, the missus insists I wear a mask so as not to scare the kiddies (?????).

My former husband and I used to dress up and all of the nieces and nephews came to our house for some treats… We were married on November 1 so Halloween was our anniversary eve… He actually was pulled over by a cop on Halloween 1980… He was on his way home from dropping me off at my parents’ house so that I could sleep there the night before our wedding… I’m sure that he was flying down PCH… lol… He told the cop that he was so nervous because he was getting married tomorrow and the cop let him go…

I don’t dress up but I usually deck my house out. I say usually because I didn’t do anything last year and also won’t this year due to the pandemic. It’s my favorite holiday so I’m hoping I can resume again next year. I have regulars because I always hand out to each a toothbrush, floss, sugarless gum and candy (retired forensic dentist 😂). I’m so ready for better times.

I used to dress up while trick or treating with the kids. It was fun and I could do it without feeling silly. I dressed up as Gandolph the White from Lord of the Rings one year with a white wig and beard and white costume gown. People couldn’t tell I was a female! My favorite was sticking on a green witch nose, and painting my face green (I went as a witch). A lot of parents dress up taking their kids trick-or-treating around where I live.
I don’t dress up now that the kids are grown, and my 13 year old went out with friends for the past few years, so I didn’t even need to go anymore. But my adult kids still all dress up for their parties. It’s fun.
