Today marks 14 years since I hit publish on the very first blog post here at BadgeHungry. It was literally one sentence, about Canasta getting new ranks if I recall correctly. It all started out as a fun way to keep track of my own ranks in Pogo games — because why just make a spreadsheet when you can program an entire web site and maintain a blog to go along with it? And it now has grown beyond my wildest expectations to become a thriving community of players who have come together over our common love of Pogo games and adapted to all of its changes in the most admirable ways.

Today I celebrate each and every one of you: for your support of this site and each other, your communication (and always letting me know when there are mistakes on the site!), your camaraderie, your patience, your daily visits, and so much more. This site would be nothing without you.

Over the past year, BadgeHungry has grown a lot behind-the-scenes as we too have had to adapt to Pogo’s changes as well as the changes brought about by the COVID pandemic. My assistant has just had his five year anniversary with BadgeHungry and he’s responsible for the majority of the regular posts that you have all come to love and expect. And I so appreciate him, his hard work, and our check-in meetings!

We launched the Today in Pogo feature earlier this month for VIP members. It’s a feature I’ve been talking about doing for a very long time, but the pandemic changed my day-to-day so much that I had to postpone planning and implementation until I knew I’d have the time on a regular basis to do it justice. I’m glad I was able to finally come up for air and get it going. And I’m even more glad that it’s so useful to so many of you!

In closing, thank you for visiting, thank you for telling your friends about BadgeHungry, thank you for sharing the URL with your friends and family, thank you for continuing to send in news and tips and rumors, and thank you for continued support and participation here.

  5. Congratulations on 14 years!! I’ve been around for most of them. Richard mentioned BH in the chat in Trivial Pursuit one day, and I’ve been here ever since. The 1st thing that grabbed my attention was the Badge Tracker. I still miss it…lol

  19. Congratulations on 14 years of Badge Hungry! I wish I could remember how I found your site. But I do recall that the first I knew was Badge Addict. When that tanked, somehow I found you. I’m sure someone in a game (in chat that was easy to engage with; what’s wrong with the Pogo web developers?) told me about BH. And I’ve relied on you for hints, general information and your wonderful array of badges ever since. I come here a lot to just view the Super Secret Badges as a friend and I are just obsessed with them and here is the only place to view them. Please don’t ever get rid of your display of Super Secret Badges. Really grateful for your tips and general Pogo knowledge.

    I, too, miss Badge Tracker. I felt accomplished seeing what I had finished and how far I had to go to finish other games.

    I love that BadgeHungry has continued all of these years and is very helpful. I have been a member since 2009 on Pogo. Not sure how long on Badge Hungry. I don’t know where to look it up.

I cannot remember how I found your site but it comes to mind that I was doing some kind of researcher and your site was one that popped up, So being a fan of Pogo of course I had to find out what your site was all about, Of course I loved what I saw so I had to be a member so I could enjoy what you had to offer So thank you and your staff for so very much help when we need it and all the information you give to us. I was trying to remember how you alerted Big Sea players of your initial Badge Hungry postings but I can’t remember. I do remember I was very happy about it. I was sad to lose Big Sea and knew I would be playing even more on Pogo after it was gone and having your site has always been very helpful.

I use the site as a daily reference: ranks, sudoku and crossword answers, what’s new, what’s almost over so I had better hurry up, and the Q &A, mainly! I always have a tab open with BH, “just in case”.
