New Challenges: Spectacular ShowcaseStarting July 5 Pogo will bring 48 new challenges as part of the Spectacular Showcase. You’ll be able to unlock the first 24 challenges for free immediatelly, and completing them will earn you two bonus badges. After that, you can purchase the remaining 24 challenges, which reward three new bonus badges for their completion.

  1. I’m not sure how I feel about this yet. I would be excited about it if I knew I could multi-activate but since EA (Pogo) took that away I just don’t know. And if we can only activate one challenge at a time I will be extremely upset. I get bored playing only one challenge. I enjoy playing different challenges each day and not being stuck with the one I chose to activate.

    Guess we have to wait and see until July 5th.

    Don’t forget to do the Survey (we need to make our voices heard).

      I filled out survey, just hope Pogo Spike and team read them all !

    • Ditto, Dee, every word. I skipped the last ( and current ) marathon because of inability to activate more than one badge. I couldn’t care less how many ( or what kind ) of badge(s) I have. If I want to relax on pogo, it’s only going to be with games I enjoy. Everyone should play how it makes you happy 🙂

  2. I’ve actually been waiting for them to bring back the Mix and magic type of badges! It’s been close to year since they did one

    • The will have to be completed by the end of the Event in order to get the bonus (completion) badges.

    • I can’t see us multi activating them. Pogo done away with that. It’s one at a time now unless a miracle happens between now and then.

      • Only if they call it a Marathon. If they consider it an Event we will be able to activate multiple badges at once, as long as they are in different games.

        • Thanks! That is refreshing news since EA has taken away so much from pogo that made earning badges fun.

        • I’m thinking that because we have to complete the first 24, to get to the second 24…and we have to BUY the second 24…they’ll allow for multiple activations

          Given a choice between fun-sucking and money-sucking…Pogo goes with money-sucking every time! 😉

          • I’m hoping this is just plain old Pogo not being able to write things out in a manner which doesn’t cause confusion.
            I mean of course the part that reads you must complete the 24 before you can buy any alternates or additional badges.

            I mean think about it for a second…last time there was a Magic Marathon and we drew our 30 challenges some of us got the win 60 Random games in trivial pursuit…and some who did said NO WAY! and bought an alternate for 8 gems.
            If the way the blurb read is the way it is…then anyone who receives even 1 badge in a game they refuse to play ( quinns? snowbird?slots?) Pogo will forfeit any possible revenue on the remaining 24 badges as these said people wont be allowed to buy a badge till the finish the challenge they refuse to do.

            Pure speculation and we have seen bigger faux-pas…we’ll see tomorrow 🙂

          • Exactly, which is why no matter how it is worded (it’s Pogo, remember lol) I can’t believe we’d have to finish doing the free 24 before buying any of the second 24. It would be monumentally stupid of them to do so, especially as the first 24 are free. I’m hoping it’s like Magic in that after the first 24 are given instantaneously that we can start buying the second 24 one at a time for as long as we want.

      • That’s way too many badges to do one at a time within a 4 (?) week period so I just don’t see how they could not allow multi activate. Plus that gives me no incentive to purchase the additional 24. Patti

  5. i filled out the survey on front page….
    i am curious what will be the deadline when we have the first 24 badges to done… this is a different Magic Badge event. i wondering if wlll last over a period of several weeks..then we can purchase the remainder of the badges if we want them … so many questions…. wait till July 5

  6. If they do it as a Mix and Match type I would think we could multi activate if they do them as a badge album then it would probably be one at a time since they changed the free events to show in our special album I think this is why it changed

  7. A lot will depend on the time frame and the difficulty of the challenges. Forty-eight challenges over 14/21/30 days won’t happen for me unless those challenges are super easy, especially if we can only activate one at a time. Let’s hope that Pogo realizes that single -activation + the randomized no choice of difficult challenges isn’t a winning combination.

  8. If we will be able to open as many as we want and play them when we want, fine but if we will be only able to open one at a time I will see no reason to complete the challenges just to win 2 badges.

    • They will also have Pogis attached to them, a big head start at the beginning of a new Constellation.

  9. I`m hoping that the badges we get for free, will be in different games for a change, like turbo, thousand islands,etc. The older games. Not the games that are over and over again. I did fill out the survey . Hopefully we can activate more than one. That is tedious in itself doing one at a time. I have always like working on one for a bit then switching to another for alittle while to take a break .

  10. I am hoping that, since it isn’t called a marathon, that we will be able to multi activate badges. I’m looking forward to this event. I’ve always enjoyed the mix and magic type badges. It will be nice to get a head start on some pogis ~ maybe I can actually complete the gold constellation this time!

  12. I love getting free badges to do…but like most of you, I am also hoping we can activate more than one at once…too boring to do the same game over and over….fingers crossed

  13. the ones that are free do they go into our albums for us to keep, cause i will be gone for 3 days before i can; t even pick them wont be back till wed or thrusday ,hope they will be still here

    • We don’t know anything other than what Lura has in this post, we’ll have to wait until tomorrow to know the rest

  14. What’s the story all of the sudden with everyone’s infatuation concerning activating more than ONE badge at a time business? Furthermore, when did that become such a dire need to must-do during an event?
    Does everyone here realize that you will arrive to the top of the Pagoda 🛤 regardless of the path taken? And btw, what happened to old adage of “finish what you start”. 🙄🤦‍♂️

    I guess complaining 101 is a way to de-stress in between events here in Pogoville huh!

    • It’s simply allowing members to play the way they want to, not the way that Pogo thinks they should.

    • Because it’s been a thing we could do for a while before they took it away- Some did it because they didn’t like a certain game or didn’t want to have umpteen badges to do in the same game and it take hours upon hours to do them all…There’s plenty of reasons for everyone “complaining” about it, just because it isn’t your cup of tea to have multi activated doesn’t mean everyone else thought the same, just something to think about =) I’m not sure this tone within your post was necessary though in all honesty

    • It’s definitely understandable to me, especially if there are a couple of challenges that are extremely, well, challenging. Have you not heard the phrase “Variety is the spice of life?” 🙂

      While I was happy having one husband who was the love of my life, I usually am reading 3 or more books at a time; I keep my Kindle next to my bed and have 2 or 3 paperbacks next to my reading chair. I pick up whatever I’m in the mood for. And even if I’m bingeing on a TV show with several seasons, I will take a break and watch a movie or two for a change. Have you not listened to music on your iPhone/etc. on Random? Variety!

    • Up until they changed it, we were able to take a look at the offerings for a marathon and activate whatever we liked. I liked to see them all and then activate 2 or 3, flitting from one to another to complete them in small increments of work over time. Then I’d go back and activate the others and continue flitting around.
      This was especially helpful if it was a game that caused a particular problem (clicking/vision or frustration or difficulty factor) for me.
      Being tied to one game until it’s finished in order to move on is a change that is not appreciated by most.

      • I also think the same that you should be able to double up, if the games are not the same so you would not be doing 2 badges in one game at a time even would help. It would at least be better than it is now.

    • Being able to multi activate for me is breaking up the monotony of a single game/badge. Burn out is a real thing. I DO FINISH what I start which has nothing to do with multi activate EXCEPT to avoid burn out. I’m saddened you feel we are simply ”complainers.” Patti

    • Hi Studly2009, it’s not an infatuation activating more then 1 badge at a time. Pogo (until recently) let us do this so most of us became used to it. So taking that away from us was a big surprise to say the least.

      As a full time caregiver for my elderly Mom, I come to Pogo to escape and relax and playing the same game until I reach the top of the pagoda has not been relaxing for me.

      I just had to put my 2 cents in.

Hope this is correct. We’ll see tomorrow. If they earn pogis and not just completion badges, I will do the ones I want to.

    • Of course they will earn Pogis. The only challenges that don’t are the in-game events. Even Pogo knows that they wouldn’t sell an additional 24 badges if they didn’t earn Pogis.

      10 gems each. But they don’t tell you what they are. I don’t think I’ll take that kind of chance.

  17. It’s been so long since we have had one of these. My memory tells me that the challenges are in sets of 3 per game, and the first 24 are randomized as to how many you get. (In other words, you might get 2 free badges in one game, and 1 in another and 3 in another). So maybe that will be the pattern this time as well. I am just hoping that Pogo has forgotten that Quinn’s Aquarium and Snowbird Solitaire exist.

    • Probably won’t do Snowbird nor Quinn’s. Not my favorite games. Didn’t even finish Quinn’s weekly challenge.

  19. On Bejeweled Stars – anyone know a level that you can reach 190.000 points that doesn’t require a ton of power-ups EACH time? Thank you for any help!

  22. I’m pretty amazed but I’m actually finished with this event. I did the majority of the free ones first as I knew they’d disappear. I decided to buy all the 24 because I knew with my old Magic luck if I did random I’d be getting all three Trizzle and probably something else I didn’t want. I fully expected to not do any of the Trizzle and possibly not the 30 games of Quinn’s. However, the Quinn’s turned out to be much easier than I thought, I do believe some time ago they may have jiggered them a bit so they wouldn’t be so darned hard. I then decided with only the 3 Trizzle left and still plenty of days left in the event to go ahead and do them as well. I still very much dislike the game but I am better at it now than I used to be. Win Win. 🙂

  23. I hate Trizzle! I didn’t think I would do these badges but I looked and the help section here for Trizzle . Had no idea there was a quick way with getting levels . Yoohoo Lura!!! Thank you. I might just get that last badge 🙂 I also hate Suduku. Don\t know if I will finish that. did the 10 games on easy and got that but the rest/ ? DON’T know
