Good morning! I completed Spades quickly. I enjoyed it so much. It’s challenging but doable and fun. Trizzle, on the other hand, is so boring! UGH! I will trudge through it.
Happy Badge Day!
Cher 🙂
ultimatetreebe says
I totally agree Cher, playing nil is such fun…..
trizzle is boring…but doable
Life4Style says
Totally agree with both of you. LOL I was getting so many Blue dolls in Trizzle that I broke down and bought and activated an M&M Badge to collect 700 Blue dolls. LOL Might as well get 2 Badges for my trouble. LOL
CarolsBook says
Cher, we are like two peas in a pod. I love Spades and I loved the Nil games. So much fun! Trizzle. UGH. I haven’t started. I hate it. I will start it soon. I want more Spades games. More card games. Especially Spades, Jungle Gin and Canasta.
PAN says
I used to double browse until learning here at BH a faster method: Just hit STAND if the hand isn’t good and get a redeal. Repeat until you get a hand that has no high spades and lower suit cards to allow you to dump aces later in the game. It really doesn’t take long at all. If you do double browse: One of the options in the settings is that you can pass ONE card to your partner before you bid – its a good way to get rid of an unwanted card – and can help you in bidding NIL and in Advanced Settings Bidding section to: Minimum Team Bid: 1 and Minimum Nil Team Bid: 1 AND HaVe FuN!
CarolsBook says
You can set the settings where you have a choice of a misdeal if you only have one or two spades. Then you get to pass 2 cards to your partner who passes 2 cards to you.
PAN says
I forgot to say… “PLAY BOTS”
Anne says
How do you play NIL?
afriend says
Ohoh. Nowhere do I see problems with Spades.
I’m having issues with no hands being dealt. No dogs showing
with it. EWwwww neither here or on Pogo Forum.
greydove54 says
Having the same problem. Hope Pogo fixes it soon.
RyzandShyn says
Had that problem too – had to keep refreshing the game
Cindy4764 says
I am also. This morning I did the daily and got 7/21 for the weekly and hit this glitch. I just now tried again and it’s doing that on both Safari and Chrome and on both my iMac desktop and my iPad.
Jude Nolph says
I was also having problem with no hands being dealt. Tried changing my screen resolution to the highest setting and then it worked!
Linda K. says
I had the same problem and when I changed the game choice to “PLAY BOTS” all was fine ! Good luck

Spades is an enjoyable game and trying for nil bids is challenging and makes it more interesting. Trizzle is a slog but I will work on it a little here and there and get through it pretty easily.
marcybookoo says
I agree that Spades is a fun game and not boring. I love trying to win Nil bids and blind nils too.
Sonja says
Really enjoyed Spades and again thanks to the BH community for explaining “nil” It’s like shooting the moon in Hearts but much easier. And another hint about “stand up” — didn’t know that and works great since you don’t have to play through a game.
Wish I could say I’m enjoying Trizzle. What a slog, but almost finished.
Kygirl1942 says
I am on the other side….I like Trizzle and completed it a lot faster than I did Spades. I finished both, but liked Trizzle better.
bonnablue says
I read all the comments.please tell me how to win a nil bid. does that mean no tricks?
bonnablue says
I re read the comments and finally won the game. I stood up when I had a game with Aces and high spades. Played the game when I had no spades and low cards, Nil means you take no tricks. Also read the help that the game gives you. Thanks all
NancyV says
Finished the challenges, but really really really hate Trizzle.
Kathy says
I finished the Spades and Trizzle badges today …
noattentionsp says
perhaps this isn’t the forum i should ask, but…does anyone know why nil isn’t an option in some hands? i can’t find it in the rules.
FADEDWILDROSE says
When setting up a table for spades on the “advanced settings” tab, down near the bottom, there is a choice for minimum team bid and minimum NIL team bid. If the minimum nil team bid is set to any number other than zero there is the chance that your partner bidding first may bid less than that set number, which will cause you to not be offered the chance to bid nil.
noattentionsp says
awesome, thank you! now i finally understand!
JayArvee says
When setting up a table, in the [Advanced Settings] you select what the [Minimum Team Bid] and [Minimum Nil Team Bid] is. For example, if the minimum team bid is set to four, you and your partner have to bid at least four. If your partner bids three then you have to bid at least one to make the minimum bid, therefore you cannot bid nil since you need to bid one. You have the option to set the minimum bids to Zero, I think most players now set it to one. ♠

I meant this to Reply to noattentionsp’s comment. ♠
noattentionsp says
thanks for the explanation! now it makes sense, and the badge went quicker 🙂
RyzandShyn says
The good news is that I was able to finish a Platinum badge in Trizzle around the same time I finished the weekly. Nice to get two badges done with 1 effort.
The bad news is that it was ok fun-wise until about 1,000 yellow dolls, but was a slog from there on out.
I’m officially Trizzled-Frizzled-Out again…lol.
