    Hi Everyone;

As was reccomended to me by a friend, inre Bejeweled Stars playing level #129 “50” or more butterflies per game can be “collected. GOOD LUCK “EVERYONE”! 🙂

Surprise Marathon this morning. I really like the badges and the games. I used Level 20 for the butterflies in Bejeweled Stars. That game is my favorite, I love it. The only one I may have some problem with is the Nil bids in Spades, but I think it won’t be that long!! 🙂 The others you can do favorite levels to get the badges.

    Have fun, everyone! 🙂

I know it was listed on Lura’s list, as usual, she is the best at letting us know. But I missed seeing it. Thank you, Lura!! 🙂

For Spades, overbid your first hand so you lose…your next hand will ask if you want to bid nil. You can then just repeat the process. Good luck!

That’s a blind bid that you are thinking of. You do not have to behind to bid nil.

There is no advantage losing a hand, you can just bid nil anytime you don’t have a good deal.

This spades badge is just for nil bids, not BLIND nil bid so you do not need an overbid and to bid blind. The table can be set up to allow nil bids not just blind nil.

For the Butterflies in Bejeweled Stars, I used Level 47. It has 40 Butterflies, and gave me better success than I was getting in Level 81, which has 50 Butterflies.

I found four of them easy, but I’m not a big spades player and have no clue how to win a nil bid. How do I set up the game etc. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

For spades nil bids, I double browse and have the host switch seats so both accounts are on the same team. I set up the table to pass 1 card before bidding. Often by playing both hands, you can use one partner to take any trick that the nil bidder has a high card in. Also if the nil bidder has a void in some suit, the partner can lead that suit so the nil bidder can slough off other suit high cards.

I realized that I should have made sure that you knew that your “nil bid” means that you will take zero tricks.

I do that also. I also have the “pass a card” option checked so if the account that needs a nil bid has a high spade, I can trade it to the other account. It helped a lot, especially because I had one account finished and the other was at 1. Passing a card then really helped.

Your goal is to take NO tricks. Try playing the highest card you can without taking a trick. Dump your highest card if someone plays an ace. If a trick is trumped you might consider also playing a high trump, but don’t take the trick

Click on Host Game. Check Requires Password, Play against robots, limit players to Beginners. The other options for Help and Preferences are your choice but I checked Yes, No, NO, NO, Yes. Then check pink box at bottom that says Reuse Same Options for Next Time. Then look up at the top and click on Game Settings: Click Yes, Yes, No, 250 Score, No, Yes, NO, NO and then check the pink box that says Reuse Same Options Next Time.

When your hand is dealt, if you don’t have many spades and no high ones, and you have lower cards to play in each suit you can probably win a Nil Bid, Just click on the red NIL up top and play the hand. If not, click on the Stand Up button on the top left and leave and go back to host game and try again. Do this until you get the low cards. O.ccasionally Nil bid isn’t offered as an option, and in that case just stand up and repeat.

You don’t have to play the entire game to get credit. It gives you credit each time you win a Nil Bid.

Very doable. I did them in order (1-5) except for Sweet Tooth Town which I broke up between the others to ease the boredom of doing 40 at once.

Finished all 5 too and it was fun! Lol, it was more difficult to finish the Snowbird daily..

Spades — I didn’t understand a “nil” challenge since it’s never been a weekly AFAIK and been playing forever. Got great tips on the forum and it’s all in setting up the table. Honestly, once I followed those tips I felt so stupid by complicating everything. Great way to play the game. 2 hands and done with the game, rinse and repeat.

One more post of advice for spades nil bid table setup. In “game settings” section for the 4th item listed, allow pass one card to partner before bid=yes, and the 7th item allow nil bids=yes. Also, on the “advanced setting” section scroll down the page and set the “minimum team bid” down very low. An example of the reason for this is: at the default minimum team bid of 4, if your partner has bid before you and bid only 3 or less, then you will not be given the option for a nil bid with the team min. bid set to 4.

I found this to be the easiest and the most fast marathon to accomplish was a nice change from some marathon’s that the requirements take eternity to get.

Since I play neither Spades nor Gin I knew I wasn’t going to get the completion badge for the Marathon. But, to make the Pogo Bowl weekly badge less tedious and boring, I completed the STT and Peggle badges between frames. I could have done BJS too, but I had earned that one already. All of these games have so much down time between actual play time it worked out great. I did level 8 of Peggle because it only takes one ball to win the level and did the tutorial in STT because you can win it in 2 moves. All doable during the ridiculously long wait between frames in PB.

I like Level 8 (which only requires 1 move) to get through Peggle Blast.

Good marathon, easier requirements, and fun games. I would love to see more marathons like this, unlike the other one going on with 400 mega matches in trizzle…no way!!!!
