Pogo Mini: Drawing a BlankHappy Weekend Everyone!

What do you use as your avatar on Pogo: your mini, a favorite badge, or a Pogo character?

The weekend open thread is a regular feature at BadgeHungry. Every weekend, we answer the discussion question above, and chat about anything game-related. It’s a great place to test the waters of commenting and introduce yourself, ask for help with a game or challenge, or talk about your games and make friends.

  1. I use my mini right now.
    Does anyone know how to remove the frame (from the constellations) from around the mini?
    I’ve seem some people who just have their mini showing without a frame and I’d prefer that.
    Thanks in advance.

    • PS. On the forums it says that the only time it disappears is from the time one constellation ends and you are working to the end of the Bronze levels of the next constellation at which time the Bronze frame returns.
      There doesn’t appear to be a way to get rid of it or have it be optional.
      I’m hoping someone here knows something different…lol. 🙂

        I hardly ever change my avatar but I was checking out some of my profiles and backgrounds and found this by mistake.
        In the new pogo, click my profile, click the little pencil on top, that removes the border and hit save changes

        • That doesn’t work on mine. After I click Save Changes and go back, the border is still there.

          • I use my mini. But I change it when I am in classic mode. That works for me.
            I hope they don’t take away our mini’s & closets. Just think of all the money we spent over the years for memberships & gems to buy our outfits etc.

        • I clicked on the little pencil, it removed the border but when I hit save changes it went back with the border. Tried it several times but it didn’t work.

            I think it’s weird that the border isn’t optional, but that seems to be the way it is.

  2. This is a nice question.

    I use my mini , and I still change it every Thursday like I used to when we had the new releases on a Thursday.
    I am so pleased we are still able to do this at the moment at least.

    I have spent lots of tokens and gems on mini items over the years and hope we will still be able to carry on being able to use them going forward.

  3. Mine is a mini. I agreed with Pogo Llama on keeping the mini as I feel it is a reflection of myself and I like changing them especially to reflect the change of seasons. I was glad she convinced Pogo to keep them. Happy weekend all!

  7. Right now mine is my mini. Sometimes I change it. I rarely change my mini now though.

  8. I use my mini, and I change it often, depending on the season or the holiday. I’m so glad we can use our minis!

    As an aside, I sure miss the blog to keep us informed about upcoming events. I know that Llama left, but someone at Pogo should be able to give us news and updates without any commenting allowed.

  13. I would love to figure out how to use my favorite badge from claire heart. I had it showing on old pogo but can’t seem to figure out how to put it on new pogo. Is it that you can only use the new badges and not the pogo classic ones?

    • Saving Favorite Badges in Early Access
      1. Click Profile Icon
      2. Click ‘My Profile’
      3. Scroll Down to ‘Favorite Badges’
      4. Click ‘Edit’
      5. Click on the position where you want the badge
      (there will then be a pink border around it)
      6. You can use the filters to narrow down the badges
      (example: for an LE badge check ‘Mix N Match’, etc.)
      7. If it is an older badge select ‘Sort by: First Earned’
      (so you have fewer pages to click through)
      8. Page thru the badges until you find the badge you want
      (fortunately the badges are dated to make it easier to find
      if you know about when you earned the badge)
      (an MP4 animated badge will show as a black box with an ▶ in it)
      9. Click on the badge
      (it will show up in the pink box you had selected earlier)
      (if it is an MP4 animated badge Click low below the Arrow ▶)
      10. Click ‘Save Changes’

        I go to Classic first, then Badges, then find the badge I want to use as a favorite so I can click on it there and see what date I earned it.
        Knowing the date makes it much easier to find it in Early Access and Classic is the best place to find that date.

  14. My mini most of the times.
    It would be so cool if it showed animated.
    I sometimes change for a favorite badge but then I go back to use my mini after a few days.

    I too wish we could get rid of that annoying frame from the constellations (I thought I was the only one who didnt like it) and hope that one day they will give us the option to use it or not as we please. One can always dream!

  15. I use my mini who wants a silly avator on profile and I still change often..I love to remove frame too

  16. May I take a moment to moan about Pogo Bowl? Is it just me, or do others feel that the walls alongside the pins seem to prevent pins from falling down?

    • I found the pins don’t fall down as easily as the old game, I don’t know if it’s the walls alongside the pins or something else. But I did find out that I could still curve the ball at the last second like the old game. I hope pogo makes some changes to this game as it can use improvement.

  17. I use my mini and change it according to the season and/or holiday. I happen to like the frame around my mini.

    Finished Quinn’s, Trizzle, Blitz, Bowling, Bingo yesterday. All 5 challenges were very easy for me.

  18. I know that Minis are on life support now, but if they take that away I’m done. Minis are what caused me to join Pogo in the first place. Collecting them, admiring the artwork, admiring people’s creations in the Hot Shots and Mini contests, working for Mini awards: they remain my fondest memories of the old Pogo.

    So, definitely a Mini for my avatar.

  19. The pins just don’t fall the same as they did in the old Pogo bowl. Most times they just dance around.It does take a lot of practice with this one;hopefully they’ll make improvements as players continue to complain about how it plays. Many, many players are unhappy with it.

  22. I have and continue to use my mini, changing it daily to represent a special holiday/event.
    For example, today is World Theatre Day, so I have an background and image of the the stage of Romeo and Juliet to highlight this event. I wish that Pogo would have continued with the minis and kept the mini mall.

    • There’s no reason for not having the mini mall. With all the games having wonderful graphics, it seems POGO doesn’t want to be bothered. Come on POGO, throw us a bone! 😡

  23. I use what ever Constellation I have finished. In the past I have used a mini and I might go back to that again in the future.

  24. I’m using the mini with the bookcase and he Pogo characters peeking through the door. I like it because it reflects my love of books.

    For my favorite Badge I use the Looking Skyward from Mahjong Garden. I like it because, to me, it kind of goes along with my screen name. It represents hope, imagination, and a vision of things to come.

    However, it took on a new meaning for me this past week — sadness and longing for days in the past. Sadly, I had to say good bye to my other 15 year old cat, Snoopy, on Wednesday. A sonogram revealed she has pancreatitis. The Animal Hospital treated her for a couple of days with little progress, so it was evident she had it longer than was known. It was tough because it meant I lost her and her brother, Bruschi, within 2 weeks of each other. The possibility of that ever happening like that wasn’t even on my radar!

    I hope everyone has a good weekend. I hope no one was affected by the tornadoes than ravaged the southern region this past week. That area has certainly gone through a tough period recently.

    • Sorry to hear about Snoopy. I was sad when you posted about Snoopy not eating at all after her brother Bruschi was gone – I was thinking she was experiencing terrible grief, poor old gal.
      I’m glad you got an answer as to what was going on with her, but my condolences for what that led to.

    • So sorry for yout loss! Snoopy & Bruschi are together again at the Rainbow Bridge, and will be waiting for you when your time comes.

      • Thank you all for your sentiments for Bruschi and Snoopy. It sure is quiet around the house. I’m still not used to not having my escorts to the door when I’m going out, my escorts to the kitchen, the bathroom, and to bed. LOL But I’m thankful we had 15 good years together, even though it seems like yesterday that I adopted them. Boy, how time flies.

  26. I use my mini and always have. I try and change it every once in a while so I am in season. I don’t have a lot of mini outfits or backgrounds but I have enough to change with the different seasons. I have never used a badge as my avatar. Hope we can keep using the minis. I hated having to use the avatars they had for the new Pogo when it first started.

  27. I use my mini. I haven’t changed it since the beginning of the new Pogo. Besides loving my mini, it’s just not something I even think about changing.

  29. Happy almost end of the weekend everyone! ( And for those that follow the NCAA go Zags 🙂 )

    I use my mini as it was a gift from a former tournament player. She gave the nun costume to me as a gift when I actually became a Nun. On occasion I will use some of my other costumes like the Irish lass, or my favorite dragon badge from Mahjong. [ I mostly hosted there, so Mahjong was my second Pogo home] Otherwise I just stick with the nun mini.
