Pogo Mini: Winston's RevengeHappy Weekend Everyone!

Every year, on the Weekend Open Thread before Thanksgiving, I ask what about Pogo and games are you thankful for. This year, it just seems appropriate to open it up to anything you may be thankful for. Let’s spread our gratitude around in these difficult times.

What are you thankful for this year?

The weekend open thread is a regular feature at BadgeHungry. Every weekend, we answer the discussion question above, and chat about anything game-related. It’s a great place to test the waters of commenting and introduce yourself, ask for help with a game or challenge, or talk about your games and make friends.

See you in the comments!

I’m thankful that I haven’t (so far) got covid , and they have a vaccine coming for it. But a very close second, has to be that we have Badge Hungry with Lura, Suz, and the rest of you giving hints all the time. Sure does help get those badges.

I am thankful that my Mom is still with me and that I have my health or else I wouldn’t be able to care for her.

I’m also thankful for all the advice given on BH as there are so many knowledgeable members here and without their help I wouldn’t be able to play some of the games.

Wishing everyone a very Happy and Healthy Thanksgiving!

    Greetings Fellow Pogo Players,

This Thanksgiving day, and every day, I am thankful to be alive and well.
With so much going on around me and the world in general, I will not make a long list or lament. But , since I’m given the opportunity here, I will say I like playing some of the games on Pogo and I love my Pogo friends. I am thankful beyond measure for my Pogo friends.
I don’t get to chat with most of them anymore though. There was such a long time we didn’t have chat and I think so many of us just don’t find each other anymore. If you have time, anytime you want, look me up on Pogo, friend me if you want, contact me. Send me a Pogo message. I will do my best to listen if you want to talk or rant or whatever. God knows I have the time. I also have patience and a life-time of experience to empathize with others. Let’s get aquainted or re-aquainted. The isolation is not good for any of us. I don’t know about you, but this Thanksgiving Day especially, I need and want my friends!
    Love you all,
    Rita aka DianeRoseGrandma

Thankful for all helpers, especially the healthcare workers who are going above & beyond, the grocery stores that are implementing extra measures, the first responders & all public “servants” who are expected to be superheroes. Thankful for all of the population who take a deep breath & let the little things pass, understanding that we are all stressed in a horrible new way. Thankful for the Badge Hungry helpers, esp. Lura & Suz, & that pogo is giving so many free badges & challenges. Thankful that I always manage to have a little extra to donate, to gift to people who are truly appreciative. Also, since I no longer have a pet in my life, I was so thankful to a man who let me pet his huge pitbull service animal in CVS today! Happy Thanklsgiving all!

This really made me think. I wasn’t feeling very thankful for anything much. But now I am! Thanks, Lura! I’m thankful for you and your page, though I wonder how you do it all!

I’m thankful that neither I nor my family doesn’t have COVID.

I’m thankful for Pogo and BadgeHungry that helps with Pogo so much. The people on here seem to know every question I ask.

I’m thankful for the front line workers, the doctors, and nurses, paramedics, and firefighters, and all the other first responders.

I’m thankful that we have food to eat and are able to pay our electric bills and cable and internet. I don’t know what I would have done this year without the internet.

I’m thankful for the friends I have made on Pogo and friends in real life.

LMAO, I’m thankful I got my hearing aids this year! I can hear again! (Yes, I’m old!)

I’m thankful that we have our Thanksgiving groceries already. And that we’re able to make them into a nice Thanksgiving meal. Even though there won’t be anyone here this year, there is my husband and me.

AND, I’m so very thankful that Biden won and trump is on his way out!

Wow, there is much more to be thankful for than I knew!

One more thing, we lost our last cat this year. And I am thankful for the neighbor’s cat who comes and stays a few days or even a few hours. We love her and we don’t have to be responsible for her. So best of both worlds!

Thank you for the opportunity to say and to make me realize there are something/many things to be thankful for.

According to the Badge Hungry Comment Policy: “Comments that can be taken as rude, negative, baiting, offensive, or otherwise do not contribute to healthy discussion and sharing will not be approved.” If that is the policy, then why are comments about the election being allowed. So far they are only coming from the left which is to be expected. This is a game site and we do not need comments like this to intrude on an otherwise friendly site.

    • Lura says

      November 21, 2020 at 3:09 pm

It appears that you’re new here. I’ve been managing this site and its comments from every angle for over 13 years, so let me fill you in on a secret: I haven’t moderated out a single comment today and as you can see, nobody has said they were grateful for Trump. So you can just go ahead and continue to think this gratitude weekend is a biased or unhealthy discussion or something, but it’s not.

      • monte says

        November 22, 2020 at 1:00 pm

Sorry, but I agree with GK….the only reason you aren’t getting any positive Trump comments is because of their hatefulness towards anyone who supports him. They feel free to make any comments they want but ours are censored everywhere you go on the internet. Also, I believe we are just more tolerant than the “supposed” tolerant and inclusive Party. Their biases are always showing.

I am grateful that we had 3+ years of outstanding economic growth, salary increases, low unemployment rates for all surveyed groups (ages and/or races), lowered tax rates, new trade agreements that don’t contribute to a loss of manufacturing in America, millions of unnecessary regulations and red tape removed, three new Arab-Israeli peace agreements, countries in NATO paying a contributory share of the defense the US provides them; a much stronger US military force, a strengthened and lengthened wall protecting our southern border, and so much more that has contributed to a stronger USA, stronger families, and stronger communities. I am very grateful that we had a Trump presidency and grateful to the entire Trump family for working to Make America Great Again for these 4 years.

I’m thankful that I and members of my family, in different parts of the U.S. and Canada, have not gotten COVID.

While we all may be experiencing “virus fatigue” we must always keep in mind that the virus isn’t experiencing any fatigue. To that end I’m thankful for all the people who are listening to the scientists and following the CDC guidelines. I’m thankful for all the healthcare workers, First Responders, testers, and all the Front Line workers dealing with COVID

I’m thankful for Badge Hungry, and people like Lura, Suz and others who share their knowledge of everything Pogo. I’m also thankful for the Tiny Kittens site that, along with Pogo and Badge Hungry, has helped in getting me through weathering the effects the pandemic has had on normal day to day activities.

I’m very thankful for all the people who voted in the recent election and, in exercising their right, broke all kinds of records in doing so!!!! I’m thankful that the days of trying to govern by tweet is over!!

I too am grateful for Trump. No one should have been harassed for their entire presidency by the opposition as well as the deep state buried in the FBI and the entire press yet he has managed to do many great things for America. It is time we should really consider term limits on Congress and age limits on the Supreme Court.

This country has been torn apart by the left who refused to accept Trump as President. If Biden prevails, I am sure the right will not be rioting and looting but will accept him as we did Obama for 8 years. It is time to stop trying to cancel out those who disagree with you and your ideas – everyone is entitled to their own opinion and should not be harassed for it.

    Happy Thanksgiving America.

  31. Lura says

    November 22, 2020 at 3:07 pm

So here’s what I’m thankful for:

I’m thankful I live in a country where democracy is still alive and well — a system with opposing parties makes it possible for there to be checks and balances. I’m thankful we Americans can all have our own opinions, and vote the way we want, and that others can disagree with us without repercussion. This is a privilege and without it we’d be worse off for it.

I’m thankful for this thread, which reminds me that I shouldn’t — even while an awful pandemic is raging — open the traditional Thanksgiving thread up to all of what we are thankful for, especially in an election year. 🙂

I’m thankful for everyone who emailed me/commented/etc this morning when the BadgeHungry web server was misbehaving!

And last in this not-exhaustive list, I’m thankful for everyone wished me happy birthday this year, and for a birthday weekend where I can close this thread (which to be honest has become a little cumbersome to moderate) early and go enjoy myself. 🙂

I’ll see you in the comments again soon. <3
