Happy Weekend Everyone!
Do you do personal challenges each week? How do you go about choosing your personal badge each week? Are personals a must-do for you, or just optional? For those of you who have completed them all, do you still do them? If so, how do you choose which badges to re-do?
Do you do personal challenges each week?
The weekend open thread is a regular feature at BadgeHungry. Every weekend, we chat about the discussion topic, or anything else game-related. Itβs a great place to test the waters of commenting and introduce yourself, ask for help with a game or challenge, or talk about your games and make friends.
See you in the comments!

Yes i do!
I am doing the retired games first Before they do actually retire! I wished they would have kept all of the retired games longer ESPN the really good games. I hope to goodness that they bring them all back! I miss playing them!
If i do redo a personal it would be jungle gin! I really hope they make new badges for jungle gin or a marathon or something for this game!
MomsBassetHound says
I stopped doing personals a couple of years ago. Mine are all done, but I don’t even bother doing them on my 2nd account where they aren’t. I’d rather be working on M&M Badges.

i usually try to match with Wednesday challenges with other close the same requirements…. it varies from week to week..

Good question. I stopped doing personal badges when they stopped giving you anything for doing them. When it was about tokens I always did them picking out the games I really enjoyed playing. Even though the tokens I received was never as much as what I received the first time I did them it was at least something. Now that it is Pogis I don’t do any as you get nothing so why play them. I can play the games I like anytime so why bother playing personal ones. It would have been nice if they would give maybe 25% of the original Pogis so you would feel like you are really winning something so until they do I just skip them.
Gudrun says
My. sentiments exactly!
NancyV says
Amen to that!
RyzandShyn says
I rarely do one anymore. Usually if I skip a badge it’s for a good reason and I don’t go back and do it. If I have a change of heart about a game I will activate an old missed weekly as a personal challenge.
When I first got into doing badges I always did personals and even bought some extra personal slots so I could play all the old weeklies I had missed.
That was so much fun!
Cindy4764 says
Pretty much the same before with tokens and now with Pogis. I never cared about tokens so I play only the games I like. I’ve said it before, I’ve never completed even one whole album for any year all the way back to 2003.
Because of not caring about tokens I never even used to look at Dailies, probably had done 2 or 3 in my Pogo lifetime. I will do a few now for Pogis but for only 100 Pogis they’d better be short and sweet. π
johnny says
I have been re-doing them cause I have been getting the pogis again if they are recent – the old ones I am not re-doing ‘First Class Solitaire HD
The Spade Badge’ gave pogis 3 times in this month
Danny says
I just did a personal in Poppit Bingo from April 1, so very recent. And I did not get Pogis.
I think you are wrong, personals do not give Pogis.
Listy
RyzandShyn says
No, you don’t get Pogis when you re-do a challenge. They were specific about this on the Pogis FAQ thread in the forums. Here’s what it says:
Q. Will players be able to earn more Pogis by redoing Challenges or do they only earn them the first time?
A. Only once! The first time you complete a Challenge, you earn Pogis. You will not be able to re-activate a Challenge to earn additional Pogis.
johnny says
I have gotten pogis for this badge 3 times this month – I am aware that POGO said that it NOT going to happen – BUT it is doing it for this badge – so far THE ONLY one
RyzandShyn says
Thanks for clarifying that it was only that 1 badge and not all the recents. Congratulations on finding a glitch that worked for you. It’s fun when that happens π
dan says
Sure if its a game a like. But if its Quins A you can have it;very tired of that game.
JayArvee says
No. Any Personals that I have left undone are in Flash games that I hate. I can take a pass on old badges that are not worth the time doing. (One exception: I left last weeks Weeklies to do as Personals in June for this new constellation.) πΌ
Cher says
No…mine are all done so I see no reason to redo them. You get nothing for it so what’s the point!!
Hope everybody has a good weekend!
Stay safe & well!

Pretty much all caught up…presently I have 11 that aren’t done.
These 11 are in games that are blah to me n although I’ll do them I like to wait till they come around a second time so I can double up on them.
jigsawing says
I stopped doing Personals a long time ago when amassing tokens ceased to be important to me.
Right now I am just grateful to have Pogo and any and all of its aspects during these unsettling times.
Wishing some peace and comfort to all,
Janet
Kirsten says
Did do personals in games, retiring or not, that I enjoyed. Went by the wayside when we started getting so many events. Not so many left that I would even think about doing. Keeping current helps me do other things in my life so they are not missed.
Have a Great Weekend All!
sphoebus31 says
Yes, I do personals every week, trying to finish those I missed over the last few years. It was much easier when you could buy the 5 extra personals. Now I’m slogging along with the extra 2 per week.
mspatmac says
No. The ones that are still undone are ones I chose not to do the first time around and I still feel the same way about them.. Same with back from the vault m&m;s
Sonja says
I stopped repeating when tokens went away. I mean by repeating games I loved and would play anyway. I have some undone personal java games and gave up java years ago but otherwise up to date in all the personals. Those undone java personals aren’t even accessible!
No longer see any point in it. So no, don’t do personals.
wuzzie70 says
All my personal badges have been done for years — all my weeklies are done up to this week. I have completed all my albums since the weeklies started in 2003. I used to redo some of the badges, especially if we needed extra badges done to get to a certain number finished before a certain date, but Pogo doesn’t do that anymore. I didn’t know that you could redo the newer badges and get pogis again and again! I will try that — thanks to johnny as he stated in a post above!
Have a wonderful weekend all, and stay safe!
RyzandShyn says
That information is wrong. Here’s what Pogo said about that in the Pogis FAQ:
Q. Will players be able to earn more Pogis by redoing Challenges or do they only earn them the first time?
A. Only once! The first time you complete a Challenge, you earn Pogis. You will not be able to re-activate a Challenge to earn additional Pogis.
Dino says
I used to re-do them, even though I have completed them all. For one thing, their token count didn’t decrease, while M&M’s token count went down to 1000 tokens and then progressively less with each re-do. I also liked seeing the x2 beside them in the albums. But re-doing all the new games’ personal challenges seems pointless to me: no gain, just pain.
As well, there seems to be very ,many more fresh and shiny new badges that require my attention these days, so I really don’t have the extra time for personals.
Have a great weekend everyone – keep well.
Cynthia Wilder says
I only do personals if/when I’ve missed the weeklies and need to catch up. For instance, I didn’t do the last couple of week’s worth of weeklies because I wanted to save them for this new Constellation. So, I’ll play them in June when I can activate them.
Hope everyone has a super weekend.
Jennifer says
I don’t do them anymore. I am all caught up. Before tokens went away, I wanted to hit 300million and I re-did personals to help get that goal. Now…who cares? I keep up with all the weeklies. I’m just having fun ranking up in the games that I want to and force myself to complete the weeklies for Quinn’s that they seem to give quite often. I wonder if anyone at Pogoland tries out the challenges before they are released. And if so, how in the world do they do the QA ones without throwing their monitor out the window? Mine was almost tossed out 10 times in this week’s challenge.
jgs98765 says
If I go on vacation, it’s great for catching up. I also have used them to add a little fun to a boring slog or while trying to rank up. Otherwise, I see no point.
Pogo God says
Its all about art work for me, doesn’t matter if its a weekly, personal or game award… If it looks ugly i’ll do it but I won’t wear it… kinda sad how they throw story quest together.
Catherine L says
I don’t do the personal challenges anymore. Most of the ones that are left are in games that I have ranked out in and no longer play. Too much going on now to back-track to the older games.
Have a lovely weekend. Stay safe and well everyone.
drkchclvr says
I did personals to complete all my badge books. I was trying to do all the books x2 but then it just got to be too many badges I didn’t like originally, so I stopped. Not doing any lately, since all my yearly badge books are full.
par521 says
I usually do all that are offered for the Pogis simply because I am competitive and” feel the need” to complete any challenge. That said, I do not buy badges. In the past, I have bought gems and used them for powerups, but decided Pogo was getting too much of my money and I’d just have to buckle down and achieve on my own.
Right now there are no free badges beyond the weekly and they are achieved pretty quickly. It was my understanding that we would be able to use our tokens to purchase challenges. That hasn’t happened. Wonder if it will…anybody know for sure?
MomsBassetHound says
No, they never said we would be able to purchase badges with our tokens.
What they said was that there would be booster challenges given to members based on how many tokens a person had. The maximum they awarded were 4, and you can see them here…

I never heard that would be happening and I highly doubt it will happen- And we’ll have free badges soon I imagine with more marathons/what not
Esque says
Does anyone know if they ran out of super secret badges again? I just finished album 249 and didn’t get awarded one. Thanks
Lizz says
I just got a couple of them yesterday. I don’t know what for but I was playing Quinns when I got 1 and Jungle Gin when I got the other.
tiggerlicious196 says
They are for when you complete a mix and match album
MomsBassetHound says
Yes, there are only 248 in circulation. I brought it to Pogo Llama’s attention a couple of weeks ago.

Well….I ALWAYS used to do them. I had all my weekly badge albums done and completed a very, very, very long time ago, so my personals were mostly just for some quick and easy tokens
If there was a particularly challenging M&M badge I was working on, I’d do a personal badge in the same game and it helped me feel like i was making progress
Lately, because there’s no incentive to playing personal challenges, there have been several weeks where I just left my second badge un-selected, un-played and unearned
BUT – the “Rainbow Wedge” badge in Trivial Pursuit was originally released on January 6, 2010 – and I have used it as one of my weekly personal badges, every week since then. It was a quick, easy, five minute 10,000 tokens – and I LOVED quick, easy, five minute 10,000 tokens. Once they took away tokens for our personal badges, I would’ve stopped playing for the Rainbow Wedge badge, except…I’ve earned it 492 times since January 6, 2010…and I kinda want to make it to 500 times. If they remove the last of the old games in the next 8 weeks, I’ll be irked at Pogo…again! But I’m always irked at Pogo these days, so it won’t be anything new
jwalters1395 says
Since I have all the past Wednesday badges done, I was only doing personals when tokens were still around. I have since stopped. It is hard enough to keep with all the challenges as it is!
Stay safe all!

Yes, sometimes, when there is a long badge, I pick a personal to go with it. I’m working on Poppit Bingo room badges that I did not do very early in the game so I picked a personal to go along with them.
For what it’s worth, that Pogo Slots free gift this week is truly the hardest badge that I have ever done, including the Tri Peaks badge to use 35 Wilds weekly. I will never activate a badge that Pogo gives us 600 Pogis to earn! I have 5900 so far, and have lost 10K coins, which I don’t care about anyway, but the game is so cheap even the Colossal Wins are less than 1,000 :D. It will take me another week at this rate to get the badge, unless the gates are opened wide for us to get it. π
Have fun, everyone!! π
dottiedeedee says
I have done EVERY weekly badge on my account TWICE which meant I had to use the Personals to do them the second time. I also did several years additionally of make-up for the ones before I started with Club Pogo. These make-up Personals I had to buy. (I also had to buy all the “Starter Album” weeklies because I was using the 2 free ones to do my weekly badges twice) I’ve also done every weekly to date on my 2nd account ,more recently aquired, using Personals for all the years before I started it.
BUT — Last year Pogo decided to drop the ability to buy additional Personals. So my albums from 2003 through half of 2019 all have badges done X2 — using Personals, Any since then have been done only once,–No Personals used.
Actually, though, it is a relief not to feel I have to do them twice. It was just my own personal quest, started before we were bombarded with Marathons and Quests and Game of the Months, etc, etc.
I have been able to keep up with my Weeklies so far. I now see no reason,to use a Personal except to pick up a missed weekly if that becomes necessary..
