The weekend open thread is a regular feature at BadgeHungry. Every weekend, we chat about the discussion topic, or anything else game-related. It’s a great place to test the waters of commenting and introduce yourself, ask for help with a game or challenge, or talk about your games and make friends.

  3. I can’t remember exactly but I do remember you were at Big Sea so maybe when that was closing you mentioned BH? I remember at some message board there was discussion amongst Big Sea people about other sites to play at. I was already at Pogo anyway but however I found BH I’m happy I did. 🙂

    • Yes! When Big Sea shut down, I definitely encouraged Big Sea players to come check out Pogo and BadgeHungry’s awesome community. 🙂

  4. I belonged to and played on Pogo for a long time before becoming interested in working on badges or using gems. Once I jumped into it, I was hooked. I got stuck on a badge early on, and wondered if there was any help available on the internet. I did a search for help in whatever game that was, and Badge Hungry popped up.
    I came, I looked around, I bookmarked it, and I’ve been here daily ever since, learning something new each time!

  5. I remember I couldn’t figure out out to play one of the games (I don’t remember which one) and I googled the game and lo and behold Badge Hungry appeared with tips. First I didn’t post in BH but lurked and found other great tips. Finally I said to myself “I’m tired of being a silent reader” and started to post and I’m so happy that I did and still do!

  6. Somebody mentioned it in chat when this site was first created. I’ve been here ever since. We’ve had some great times. I remember doing the mini dress up every morning It was fun!

  7. I can’t remember the exact details. All I know is that someone mentioned BH in a game- room chat when we were all having difficulty with a particular challenge. But I DO remember I almost fell rushing over here. lol
    I seriously doubt that I would still be in Pogo Club if it wasn’t for Badge Hungry.

    We have a dandelion in Wisconsin! Yippee! And we’re finally out of the 40+ degrees!

  8. I honestly can’t remember how I found BH. I may have found it my accident, or I may have seen a mention of it in chat as some have noted. However I found it, I’m glad I did!!! You’ve been an enormous help in keeping us up to date with changes Pogo has been/is making to it’s site. There are also a lot of people contributing to the hints/tips for so many of the games. Kidos to you all!!!

  10. I think i found out Badge Hungry in chat and been even since… its a great site and awesome community and tips are great.. I also reminder the daily minis Lura had and it was fun and great minis…. and contests sometime she had … keep well and safe

      Are the coins only good for buying stuff to decorate with?
      I have thousands, because so far I only purchased a deck chair to rest my weary self in…lol.
      I’m not “into” decorating in games.

      • I don’t do a lot, not as much as with Sol Gardens and I really enjoyed filling up my biomes in Sanctuary and watching the animals cavort. But you won’t have any little snowbirds show up If you don’t put up some chairs or give them something to do. They come and go, it’s different every time. It’s cute watching them play badminton or whatever that net is for, lol. As far as I know the coins aren’t good for anything else.

        • Yes, I noticed that there is often a bird sitting in my chair when I go in to play.
          Maybe I’ll buy a couple of other things for them to do just for giggles.

          I was never happy with how my Solitaire Gardens looked, so I finally gave up trying, and I despise Mahjong games (except Safari ) so I only have two lonely elephants there which I got by getting to whatever we needed for random.

      • That’s correct, buying chairs & other decorations. I don’t know that I even have 1 chair 🙂

    • Speaking of Snowbird, I finished the whole island long ago, is there going to be another island or more ports or something, getting tired of playing randomly for no reward ?!

  13. Years ago there was a weekly to do in Trivial Pursuit. I wasn’t very good at it and wrote in chat how hard they were to do. Someone in chat told me about BadgeHungry. That was the best information someone gave me and have been here ever since. Thanks for all the tips and over the years.Thanks Lura for all you do.

  14. I found out about BH the same way I found out about Pogo – from my daughter. Only with BH, she mentioned it many times before I finally came to have a look. Now I mention it to others.

I was playing a game with some others I ask if someone knew about to do a badge I was going work on someone spoke up and mention a site called Badgehungry they said it was all free if you like the site give big shout to Lura she’s the founder of it so that’s how I got started in here hoping you all have a wonderful & safe weekend

  16. I got hooked 100 years ago when someone mentioned it in a game room. I know it was at least that long as it seems like I have been here forever…haha.
    When did BH start?

  17. It was after Trivial Pursuit was released and a few days after Lura started posting the answers. I think this was 2 or 3 months after the game was released.

    A friend started sending me the answers in a pogo message every day but then I guess she got “tired” of copying and sent a message saying to check the answers myself directly on the site and put the link to the Trivial answers’ page.
    But that was all I did on BH, check the answers and leave.
    I don’t know how long before I “dared” to go to BH Home page, maybe a couple months after my very first visit to the trivial page.
    And I have been on BH ever since.
    How long is that? 10? 11 years? I don’t know

  20. when I started pogoi use to go to badge addicts for extra tokens, then I found badgehungry and lura when you first started the site and have been here ever since, just before you had your first child then I missed you very much when u took time off thank you lura for doing all you do ,you have been here for 13 years or a little bit longer,

  21. please forgive me for posting this message here but i don;t know how else to tell all of you how wonderful this site REALLY is, yesterday was my birthday and none of my FRIENDS, on Pogo, said a word to me, nothing, now maybe i am wrong but you see i never forget them, and maybe because at my age it is stupid or maybe because i am at this age for whatever reason it really hurt, BUT, because of this SITE and the wonderful people that really take the time to reach out, two people i have never met, took the time to send a BIRTHDAY WISH, yes i was shocked and so thankful, and yes i even cried, i hope i don;t get in trouble for this post and please forgive if i offend anyone but when we get older it really makes a difference, you see it meant a lot because no one else cared, anyway, it was a wonderful surprise, their names were, MysteriousMoods and MommaMick16, Thank You all, GB

    • Happy belayed birthday Tonya! You are not alone in feeling alone. My brothers called me this year on my birthday without being reminded but I make sure anyone else gets a reminder before the day arrives. Stay well!

  22. A Pogo friend of mine told me about BadgeHungry many years ago, and I’m so glad she did! Unfortunately, she is no longer a member of Club Pogo anymore. Thank you to Lura and the BadgeHungry community who give tips and advice on the various games and badges over the years!

    Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and keep praying that the pandemic will end soon!

  23. Popped in a game I wanted to try out and chatting was taking place. Normally the chat is turned off but for some reason decided to keep it on. Topics ranged from what was going to be for supper, recipes, games, and getting in the know. BH was mentioned and I wrote the information down to get to it later and here I am and never left, This site and community has helped me in so many ways. The camaraderie is outstanding and Lura and her team are just as awesome! 🙂

  24. I found out about BH from a coworker who I was friends with about 8 or 9 years ago. He had gotten into Pogo while undergoing cancer treatment. It was the perfect thing to entertain him while he recovered.

    The job we met on was pretty easy and allowed time for Pogo play during work hours. It didn’t pay super well but it DID have medical benefits. Ah, the good old days!

  25. I kept seeing MomsBassetHound in the forums. She made sense when I was having trouble with all things Pogo. She had BadgeHungry.com plastered all over her profile so I figured it was worth checking out. She was right of course 😀

  27. I have been a member of Pogo since 2003 i believe. I took a break in 2014 or so and came back in 2019. A lot has changed in between there.
    Anyways I found BH from Pogo Haven. I had a lot of fun in Pogo haven. I wished it was still here.

  28. I found out about this site through a chat on one of the games I was playing at Pogo. I wrote the name down and came over to investigate. I am so happy I did.

    Everyone is so willing to help. You have all helped me in things I was confused about and when I was discouraged with the Sanctuary and posted I got help and now I am so thankful that I did not give up on it. I have the whole Sanctuary done and can hardly wait to see what new animal they may give us, but it is thanks to this group that it got done.

    I don’t post often but I am here reading every day and get tips from you all. Thank you to Lura for this fantastic site and to all of you for the help you are all so willing to give..

  31. I found a different badge site first. Then, they stopped updating their info, like what weeklies were coming up next. Someone on that site mentioned badgehungry being better. I don’t even remember when it was. But it sure was nice to see what was coming up again. I never went to the other site again.

  32. I don’t even remember how or when I heard about BH, but I’ve sure been coming in here for “ages”. Maybe it’s an “age” thing, as I did just recently become a Senior Citizen (assuming that 65 is that number). Yeah, have Medicare now instead of Un-affordable Care Act! It will have to be better!

    I used to only come here for the TP answers, then after taking early retirement I did start reading a lot more on the site, but still didn’t post much. Just read all the Friday topics. Found a lot of advice/tips to help with various games. I used to print out the Crossword Cove answers also, but now that we don’t get tokens for them I haven’t been keeping up with them. I used to say I was doing it to keep my typing up to speed since I wasn’t working. Now that I started posting in here a few months ago, don’t need the CC excuse.

    I also want to thank Lura and all the other people who have posted the various tips. But I still don’t like QA and refuse to even try it any more. Don’t need the aggravation. We’re currently under enough stress with this COVID-19. Of course, by staying home much more than usual, I am playing a lot more Pogo games! Do appreciate the free badges we get!

  33. Hi all hope you are all well with all of this “new normal” stuff.
    I am having a problem with Snowbird solitaire. Level 205 I can not play any cards, does anyone have some suggestions? If not how does one play random games? I did look in forums on pogo 2 post having the same problem (different time frames) with no reply’s on how to “fix”

    • I surely do remember that level because I thought either the game or my computer was broken, all I got was red Xs when I clicked on the cards. As I can’t get back to 205 now all I can say is I discovered you can only play the two middle cards at first. Those were the only two that were playable but of course you had to have the right cards to be able to play them.

      Maybe someone else can be more specific but I do remember that level was a pain.

      • Sorry, forgot to answer your random level question. Go back and click on Beach and then click on Play More. It will give you a random level. If you don’t like the look of it, too many obstacles etc. leave and try again.

    • I am past level 205 (420 or so). I don’t remember it specifically, but I know that any level I was stuck on got fixed by waiting a day or two or maybe a game or three before I could get past it. I used only the 5 free wave power ups on the bottom right to get to where I am now, so I know it’s eventually possible. Frustrating at time? Yes. Played over and over again many times? Yes. But doable! Good luck.

      To play random games, go to the icon on the left that says “back to map” when you hover over it. From there you can choose a different part of the resort.
