Happy Weekend Everyone!

It’s another Badge Help Weekend! You can ask for advice on earning a badge or ask for partners to help you earn a badge in a table game. As always, BadgeHungry will not allow any requests or offers to have someone log into your account and do a badge for you. That said, you can absolutely earn every badge available for yourself: the tools and resources are here on this site for you. Ask away.

The weekend open thread is a regular feature at BadgeHungry. Every weekend, we chat about the discussion topic, or anything else game-related. It’s a great place to test the waters of commenting and introduce yourself, ask for help with a game or challenge, or talk about your games and make friends.

  2. I just want to take this opportunity to thank Julia for her support while getting to the end of Mahjong Escape. I never could have done it without her. I had almost 7 full locations a few weeks ago, and they are all done!!!

    And a reminder to anyone trying to finish something before the Flash games disappear. The games will probably be removed during maintenance on March 10th, so the last full day you will have to play this is Monday, March 9th.

    • Sadly, I will not be one of those that finishes all of ME or Solitaire gardens before they go bye bye..the cats didn’t show much interest in clicking…just playing with the mouse cord and modem cord…
      I am trying to work on SG to get as much done as I can before the next marathon hits, but doubt I’ll get both games finished b4 the deadline…I should have stocked up on seeds to buy the Happiness badges that I won’t earn enough for…many are cute. I have so many undone badges, but a lesson learned that I should have stayed current. Am very close to the end of Plants vs Zombies…wont make it in Biggest Brain…but such is life. I have come to terms with an incomplete collection, and should stand proud of having a complete one, until it got to be too much.

      Anyhow…I do have an undone ranked spades badge to 500 if anyone has time to lose…i work 3 to 11 est but the w/e is usually best for me.

      Good luck to all as you dash towards the finish line of the flash games, and enjoy playing them while you can.

      • I need to get that spades badge, but can’t find 3 players to play a ranked game. Would be glad to help if we could get together on it.

      • I also have a ranked Spades badge to complete…I don’t mind losing for someone if they can do the same for me. Actually I don’t mind losing to help someone win, that’s really what I mean! I’m available most evenings after 6 (till whenever) and I’m on Central time. Anyone can PM me on Pogo @ SQmarx and I’ll help any way I can.

  3. Tomorrow is Leap Year Feb 29 2020 they only come around every 4 years….take leap into Pogo
    with all the changes coming in March 2020. have a wonderful weekend

    • Exception to that is when the year ends in 00, ex: 1700, 1800, 1900, 2000, 2100, etc

      • The exception to that is when the year 00 is divisible by 400 …400, 800, 1200, 1600, and 2000 with the next time being in 2400.

  4. My only Question is on the new “Jungle Gin ” How do you switch from the 100 points system to play the other ones ( 500 – 700 ) ?

  5. My badge question or questions are, do we keep all of our badges and badge totals when early access becomes the only site.
    I might be missing something, but there seems to be no organization to see completed badges, purchased badges, badges unfinished, in game badges, etc.
    Not even totals for weekly challenges.
    It seems quite chaotic as well as a deal breaker for me if we lose our badge totals.
    I broke 14,000 a couple months ago and would be sad to see it disappear

    • All our badges will still show under our profile, rewards. And our badge total will show on our profile also.

      We are not losing any of our completed badges. But we are losing the albums that house them.

      It is a mess, and I have no desire to buy badges that I’ll never find, easily like we do now. If they come up with a way similar to Badge Central, My Collection, I’m there. But don’t see that happening.

    • I found this in the Pogo forums: “17. Where is my Badge collection?
      Answer: Your Badge collection is currently still being housed on Pogo Classic. A new Badge collection and shopping experience is in development.”

      • Thank you. I hope that means really soon. I hadn’t seen that. I don’t like the idea of buying badges and throwing them into the badge chaos black void which seems to be in our immediate future.
        i still search out old badges, especially if double checking to see if they are completed.
        I have found having all the badges listed under each game helpful as well as badge central.

        • I found it on the FAQ.

          Unfortunately it’s not what we are looking for. All Llama means is that they are adjusting the drop down menus.

          If there were going to be albums on early access she would be screaming it from Pogo’s roof so we could hear her.

  6. If we have badges activated, will pogo automatically award them if we don’t finish them? I’m working on the dragon fly badge marathon from last year or so on Mahjong Escape. I activated a Risk badge also and can’t win.

  7. I have both a MnM and a Premium badge for Spades that I definitely need help with – win two 500 rated games. I’ve had it activated probably 10+ times in the last few months and can never get lucky enough to win a second game! 🙁

    On the new Pogo, if there are no albums any longer, that means no bonus album completion badges but I assume I’ll still keep all of my badges that I’ve purchased but not activated/won yet, I just won’t be able to see them in one central location, is that accurate? Would I only see them on an individual game page? For example, I’d have to scroll through the pages of challenges for Poppit Bingo to see if I even have any purchased (not yet completed) badges? Seems so disorganized 🙁

      • I would love to play with you. I have gotten good at losing at Spades. It’s fun to help people get those badges. Maybe the two of you (Bronze and Jill) could play with me and someone else I can get to help. Are you available on Monday? I’m not sure I have a chunk of time either today or tomorrow. I see that Jill’s are 500 games. Are yours also, Bronze?

  8. I’m trying to call 70 bingos with B numbers only in Poppit! Bingo. Does anyone have any tips on how to accomplish this? I am not very good at this at all. Thank you in advance.

    • Unfortunately it’s the luck of the draw. I’ve played several games where very few “B” numbers are called. I’ve played several games where I have only one “B” number left and Cactus Cash hits all the other numbers except the “B” ones. Yesterday I played a couple of games where most of the “B” numbers called were not the numbers I needed.

      Although I almost fell off my chair (and choked on my coffee!) the first day I played the game and got my first and only blackout!!! Right now I’m only at the half way point of reaching the goal for that badge, so I’m glad I began when I did and didn’t wait. Good luck.

      • This is all so true. I can’t remember how many times yesterday that I got left with one B number after the cannon went off. A couple of times I had one B number as the only number left on the entire card, so a 99.99% blackout, lol.

        I’m not the biggest fan of P Bingo, it reminds me of a pinball machine with all the beeps and bleeps and throbbing colors and vibrating Bingo buttons. Also having to take the time to trash power ups is annoying as I trash everything but golden balloons. If you use the other power ups it takes too long to get another power up.

        I will however, play for some badges and I happen to really like this one. I did a weekly together with this challenger earlier in the week. I did go up a level to 10 (Parthenon) and continued until I got the first Athenian owl as I love owls. Now I have 53/70 so finishing this out won’t be too tough but I certainly understand why some folks are thinking it’s just too much.

        • Today I quit when I had several games yielding NO bingos and when I clicked for no Cactus Cash there was a notice that bingos had to be called to receive prizes! LOL

          • Well, I had a distinctly different experience this morning. I played three games and got 0 B bingos and only a very few total bingos. I left the room and went to another and had a 4th game with 0 bingos. I was getting a lot of #s and therefore a ton of power ups but only one balloon power per game. There were either very few Bs called and/or my one set of balloons were nowhere near the B column. I just quit and haven’t been back in yet. Sometimes you just have to walk away for awhile.

  9. I have a group of helpers for Spades badges. We have helped a lot of people through the years. Unless there are glitches you will be amazed how fast badges are earned!

  11. Spades. I posted a request for help on one final RATED game in spades (not my wisest badge purchase), and within hours I received messages of offers for help. I have made a personal choice not to add any further gems in my account after the new year (after 11,000+ badges this wasn’t an easy decision to come to) and try to focus on what drew me to Pogo…. love of the game. I have a few badges to finish up on my MNM albums and the one I cannot do alone is Spades.

    I cannot express enough appreciation to the BadgeHungry community. The BadgeHungry.com community actually reminds me of Pogo “back in the day”. I have no delusions that Pogo can get back to what it was, because honestly, its time may have just passed. That said, I appreciate all the work Lura does to keep this site going, because I think she gets it…. it’s about the players. I will keep my Club Pogo membership, and daily read my BadgeHungry.com feed, because it makes me happy. Perhaps Pogo will take a lesson from here…. it’s about the players. Here’s hoping…

  12. If I don’t play the 4 player rated badge in Spades from Best Dad album, will I still get credit for the badge when we change to the all-new Pogo? If I have to activate it to get it, then I’ll activate it the day before the change.

  14. Where are all the comments in the Pogo blog post about Pogis?
    It shows 398 comments but I can only read one.

    I know comments on Pogo pass through all the censorship and must be approved first before making it to the comments section.
    Does this means that only the one comment from “some Major” was approved?
    Is it just me who can only see one comments or is the same for everyone?

  15. I would like to know if the chart for ranks in Solitaire Gardens is up to date. it seems that it does not reflect my rank given the stars that i currently have. Thanks for any info and help.

    • This has been an ongoing issue since SG was first released. There’s a glitch with the way the game counts half stars. Indeed the ranks shown here have exactly the correct requirements, however depending upon how many half stars you’ve earned your progress might not line up with the ranks chart.

  16. I have not been posting for a while.

    My Mother is very ill in hospital. She has Parkinson’s Disease for the past 7 years. Her Parkinson’s has got a lot worse and she can no longer swallow. She is in hospital with pneumonia. Her kidneys are failing also. It’s just a matter of time at this stage. She is in her late 80’s so the years are there.

    Have a lovely weekend all and make the most of everyday no matter what the weather is like.

    • Sending prayers that those caring for her can keep her comfortable so that her journey will be a peaceful one.
      I was also lucky enough to have both my parents well into their 80s and am so happy for all the loving memories I have to wrap myself in when I think about them and miss them – which is daily.

  17. Does anyone know if we will automatically awarded the completed album badges (2008, 2009, etc) when pogo switches over and the games are no longer available? There are only 1 or 2 badges in each that I can even activate, and won’t have time to earn them before March 10.

    I played a M+M badge for Phlinx and when I won it I also earned the 2007 album badge, despite not playing a weekly challenge for it.

    • I was awarded two yearly albums 2011 and 2012 last July because I had badges for games that were no longer available and that I had not done so they probably will do the same this time.
