Happy Weekend Everyone!
As the year wraps up, we have a yearly BadgeHungry tradition of looking back on the goals and resolutions we set for the year.
How did you do on your resolutions?
If you didn’t set your goals for the year with us last time, just think/look back over the year and let us know some of your accomplishments.
And next weekend we’ll set our goals and resolutions for the next year, so stay tuned!
The weekend open thread is a regular feature at BadgeHungry. Every weekend, we chat about the discussion topic, or anything else game-related. It’s a great place to test the waters of commenting and introduce yourself, ask for help with a game or challenge, or talk about your games and make friends.
See you in the comments!

Well so far I am on pace to achieve my goal of finishing my 2019 album. Proud of myself.

I didn’t make any resolutions with all the changes happening on Pogo. I just wanted to relax and enjoy myself.
As the year draws to a close I would like to thank Lura and the BH community for all the hard work and all the help that was provided during the past year. It was a pleasure and it made my gaming experience so much better. I am looking forward to being with you all during the coming year.
Thank you.

I completely agree with Catherine L’s comments! I also have made no pogo resolutions (I don’t make any other resolutions either). I just play what I like and enjoy what I play. I have kept up with completing the 2019 badge album, and have completed all other albums over the many years.
Also, I would like to thank Lura and all the people on Badge Hungry who give tips that help us complete our badges, and our albums!
Merry Christmas to all, and a happy weekend to all!

Let’s just say that my goals are a work in progress, and I still have 11 days 🙂
On my 2nd account I did meet my goal. I wanted to get caught up and I did. All that I have undone is the Mahjong Sanctuary M&M from a couple of days ago, and I’m completing that just by doing the daily puzzle. I also have a badge that I just received but that will be completed this afternoon. But I only do the free badges for the most part on this account, so much easier to stay current.
My other goal on that account was to get thru the Tropical Tank in Quinn’s, and I did that also.
On this account I wanted to continue purchasing everything on this account, and staying current. Well, I can put a checkmark next to buying it all, but staying current is a different story. A couple of months ago I had 187 undone M&M Badges. I currently only have 23 undone, and 20 of them were released on or after December 15th. The other 3 I’m really working hard on and they should be done by Christmas. But I keep telling myself that I’m doing great since there were 1,100 new M&M Badges this year between what I purchased and the free Marathon Badges.
I haven’t managed to stay current with Mahjong Escape though. I currently am 4 1/2 locations behind. And I don’t think that I will find the time to complete them by the end of the year. I will try to have them all done before the March 10th retirement date.
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas!

I did well! In fact I’ve done well for a couple of years now, so I’m pleased as punch with myself 🙂
I wanted to slow it down a little and stop treating badge work as a second job or some sort of emergency.
I did that – I noticed that on our 6 month badge counts threads here on BH I earned far less badges than I had previously in 6 months, so I know I slowed it down and spread the fun out. I’m still playing as often and still always have a few badges activated, I’m just not manic anymore…lol.
I vowed to be pickier and stop spending gems on badges unless I really enjoyed the game and the badge goal was something I wanted to do.
I did that – only buying the games I enjoy and only buying badges that don’t require replays of already played stuff….I’m so over that.
Hope you all did well and are playing happy!

My goal for the year was a bit ambiguous. I first said I wanted to get to 10K badges this year. Then I changed it to 9K. I kind of split the difference. Right now I have 9602. This was a rough year financially and several times I didn’t have enough gems to get the all the badges I wanted. Like the cookie badges, I couldn’t get all of them when they came out and only got two sets a couple of weeks ago. I think I really COULD have gotten to 10K if I had not been short on money/gems this year. But, I’m pretty proud of myself for reaching and even going beyond the 9K.
Happy Holidays to everyone!!

Lura, please feel free to join me in Montana if you want a white Christmas. The mountains are just beautiful this time of years. All the peaks are that beautiful bright white since there’s nothing to make it dirty, The ski slopes are open, the lifts are running.

My main goal for 2019 was to remain “calm, cool and collected” throughout all of my gaming. To my utter surprise, that goal was almost instantly achieved and except for some small disappointments and a few minor irritations (the last Claire Hart releases) I have “gone with the flow” very nicely. What a relief.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to each and everyone of our awesome Badge Hungry Community! ♥

My goal has always been to play, have fun, buy those challenges in games that I like to play, and add those badges to my collection. Been hard to stay focused but it has been accomplished.
Thanks to BadgeHungry and its community for all the help w/getting those badges done. Couldn’t have done it without you.
Wishing Ev1 a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year!

For Pogo I have never set goals within a specific time frame. Ranking out happens naturally as I play my favorites. It took a couple of years to complete the original game and bowling the same way. I ranked out in loads of Java games because I really enjoyed them. I never bought all the m&m badges or worry about completing yearly albums. Pogo has always been my relaxing and enjoyable time with no stress.
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a Healthy Happy 2020.

Hi “Everyone”;
After joining the “11,000” badge club last Decenber, 2018, my “1920” goal was to join the “13,000” badge club which I did on “12-16-’19. Again, I really want to thank “Lura’s” site and it’s very helpful membership. Have a great holiday everyone! 🙂

In all honesty I don’t really make any goals or resolutions about Pogo or life for that matter I’m just pleased to have lived another year. I do try & do all the weekly badges which I have accomplished all the years I’ve belonged to Pogo. At this point I just play the marathons & do the challenges if they are games I like & won’t be a burden to do. I’m a little apprehensive about the new site I haven’t really looked at it much I just hope it won’t be a problem to play. Pogo for me is for relaxation & passing time not to be anxious or feel pressure from.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!!!
Lizz says
the only goals I had this year were to stay alive and get 7,000 tokens. On new years day last year I had 5955 badges and 191 million tokens. I got more than I aimed for and today I got to 8002 badges, I also got to 204 million tokens so I guess I have been busy playing. I don’t think I will achieve that kind of a goal next year since tokens will probably be gone and badges may be less too. I find I need to have a reward, more than a badge when I finish a game so hope they come up with something wonderful.
Have a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful week of celebration and joy to all. Thank you Lura for all you have done for us this year. That has been a wonderful gift too.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all. My goal for the year was in get to 9500 badges. I currently have 9548. My goal for next year will be 10,000 badges. Have a blessed day all.

After all these years I just figured out what I need for some of these really long challenges.
I need a grandchild, or two!
I am so tired of popping balloons that I’m dreaming about them at night. And my very short term goal is to get them finished by Christmas.
Anyone have a child or grandchild that I could rent for a few hours a day?? Salary negotiable 🙂

Funny story – I was trying to keep one of mine busy when she was visiting because she was in one of those little girl moods…lol. I put up Pogo and tried Poppit for her. Her response? “Nanny, this isn’t fun”.

Guess she’s not available…lol

Moms, you have to be careful about child labor laws. Having a kid play Poppit could be considered cruel and unusual punishment. 🎈

Hi — My goals are like every 1 else to enjoy myself. I was getting stressed out trying to keep up
with Marathons & Albums that had games I don’t like or even play. I even left for about 6 months &
discovered there are NO game sites like Pogo. I’m back with no plans to ever leave — I’m playing
what I like & enjoy — if I don’t receive special badges for completing Marathons then OK — as some 1
told me Pogo is a game not a job so enjoy yourself & I AM.

Last year I listed just 2 goals. One I met. It was to get the golden pinecone badge in Everyone Wins Bingo. The other talked about ranking out in Poppit Bingo. Ranking out had been my goal the previous year, but I only made it to rank 167 because I had started to lose interest. So I set it again this past year as a goal. I have only gotten to rank 185. I decided that I am ok with that. Much as I like to rank out in a game, I always like it better if I have not ranked out when there is a weekly or new marathon badge. Although I did not even get 20 new ranks, I did work on getting more collectibles, going into lower rooms to get them. That certainly slows down rank progress.

I had wanted to reach 5,000 badges by the end of 2019, mission accomplished. I’m up to 5,931 badges. 🙂
All those Badge events and auto-awarding certainly helped.

About this time last year I learned that my cancer had relapsed for a second time. My goal for 2019 was to stay alive. It took a lot of time, energy , and really good people, but here I am. As long as I continue treatments, I will continue to be here.
Much of Pogo has changed. It has been difficult to keep up with sometimes. Luckily I can usually find answers to my questions here. Thank you so much all of you. I had no Pogo goals, but did have some hopes. I passed 100,000,000 lifetime tokens. I passed 3,000 lifetime badges.
Questions: How can I find out how many stars I have in Daily Sudoku? Also, I put Zuma’s Revenge on my computer several years ago. Will I still be able to play it? Thanks again for always being so helpful.
MomsBassetHound says
Congrats on reaching 100 million tokens!! I still remember how excited I was the day it happened, just like I remember my 1st million many years ago.
Congrats & Welcome to the 3K Club!!
I don’t think that the amount of stars that we have are in our Sudoku stats.

I reached and surpassed my first goal, to reach 10,000 badges, and I am currently at 10,816.
I did not achieve the second goal, which was to catch up on all my badges. Oh well, win some, lose some!

228 over goal of 10,000 badges completed
13 over goal of 350 albums completed
102 over goal of 3,200 MNM badges completed
68 under goal of 1,500 Premium badges completed
10.1 million over goal of 146 million tokens earned
Most of these results were affected by POGO’s announcement about retiring games, which influenced me to finish some badges before I might have otherwise done them or to discontinue the purchase of badges/albums involving retiring games.
Let me take this opportunity to thank Lura for doing such an outstanding job of keeping players informed. (BadgeHungry is how I start my POGO day!) Wishing everyone a blessed Christmas season and a happy, healthy, prosperous New Year. Holiday hugs to all, Joan
