On March 10, 2020, Pogo will be permanently retiring all Premium Badge Albums. The reason for this is changing technology on the web; as Flash is phased out across the internet, the Premium Badge Album graphics will no longer be able to be displayed in modern browsers.
Here’s a list of all Premium Badge Albums.
According to Pogo:
- All earned Badges within your Premium Badge Albums will be transferred to your collection and can be found on Early Access under the My Rewards tab in your Profile.
- You will have access to your Premium Badge Albums on Pogo Classic.
- You will be unable to purchase additional Premium Badge Albums after February 9, 2020 or make progress on them after March 10, 2020.
- Shortly after March 10, all of your in-progress Premium Badge Albums will be automatically completed and the Badges will be transferred to the My Rewards tab in your profile.
- Want to stock up before time runs out? On January 8, all Premium Badge Albums will go on sale for 50% off, giving you one last chance to grab any favorites before they retire.
How many Premium Badge Albums do you own? Will you be grabbing any before they retire forever? Let us know in a comment below.
Thanks to Kathy for sending in the news!

guess mix and match will be next
Lura says
No, this isn’t about Mix-n-Match badges at all.
MomsBassetHound says
You got that right!
Suz
Blysse says
No, they won’t be.
Static MnM badges are not Flash-based, and the animated ones are being [or all have been already?] converted to other formats. Badges as a whole are not going anywhere, not when Pogo makes so much money off of them. And MnM badges are already a part of Early Access–they wouldn’t spend the resources to make that happen if they were going away like PBAs are.
MomsBassetHound says
The OP and I were not talking about the badges, we were talking about the albums that house the badges.
The sale of badges is the only thing that keeps Pogo afloat.

There are a lot of rumors floating around Pogo right now and I’m not interested in having anything but the best, most correct information on BadgeHungry. I would like to encourage everyone to stick to what we know for sure and avoid speculation about what may be next until Pogo officially announces what’s happening.
Pogo has only announced the retirement of PBAs. Let’s get back to that topic and not Chicken-Little over what it means for other types of albums.
Glenn Banks says
I own all of them and one badge is incomplete. Spades and Iβll be glad to not have to do it
Kathy says
I owe 190 PBAs and earned 217 albums .
If you go to badge central and click on My collection and scroll down to Premium badge album you see the total of albums owed

Wonder if this is the sunset date for all flash games also.

It is.

When I logged on this morning at around 8am UK time, there was a message at the top of the tournament page which indicated that the tournaments would end on 10th March. The message was taken down shortly after that – so it’s the end for tournaments too, although I think we all knew that. I would expect the message to reappear on Thursday morning at the start of the next tournament.

I own 180 PBA’s, all of which have been competed. I doubt whether I’ll be adding any more PBA’s after today.
shelnick9293 says
I own and completed every Premium Badge album that I have purchased. The only one I did not buy was Aqua Pops which is a QA album. I hope sometime in the future that they will be back.
shelnick9293 says
My correction. After checking my 236 albums I saw that 8 were not completed and mainly because of the requirements of the badges or the dislike of several of the games. At this time I see no reason to complete them.
JayArvee says
I was expecting Pogo to re-release the PBAs.
Wring some more money out of them before they disappear.
50% off is nice deal. Unfortunately you won’t be able to see the badges.

LR3216 says
Ok so let me understand this, they will be Completed for us if we havent been able to finish the albums? OR they will finish the badges that we have “activated” within those albums at that time???
Linda says
Will we be given any badges from PBA’s that have not been completed or activated?
tiggerlicious196 says
From what is posted above:
Shortly after March 10, all of your in-progress Premium Badge Albums will be automatically completed and the Badges will be transferred to the My Rewards tab in your profile.

I am the first to admit that I am not computer savvy like many are on here – but despite that I am struggling with the logic of this – so hopefully someone will explain this to me –
Flash is going – so the statement by Pogo is that Albums can longer exist is because Flash is going ? Do you mean to say the internet is to grind to halt because Flash is going and there is no alternative? That there is no alternative to being able to display the “graphics” of badges or albums? I just don’t believe that. This feels like fake news to me.
There must be an alternative. I am quite sure that “graphics” on the internet will still continue after the demise of Flash. It may well be that it is more complicated or more expensive or something – but there must be an alternative to “graphics” being displayed on a web site like Pogo. Could someone please enlighten me?
Lura says
It’s not all graphics that will cease to work, it’s the particular Flash-based animation that Premium Badge Album badges used (.swf files) that requires Flash to play. In fact, the majority of the animated Pogo badges prior to 2018 used this technology (others were .gif files). Flash has always been a little bit of a security risk (a lot if you’re asking some experts), so it’s not going to be supported into the future.
Pogo now uses .mp4 for their animations. They *could* redo all .swf badges into .mp4 format but I can’t imagine the amount of time and effort that would take.

Pogo’s post says all in-progress PBA badges will be awarded to us upon retirement. Does that mean we’ll lose all the badges in PBAs we bought but didn’t activate or complete? I’m a little confused about that. I have a few PBAs that are close to completion, but I won’t quite get there because the remaining badges are too time-consuming or too difficult for me to complete.
RyzandShyn says
No. It means that you’ll be automatically awarded all the badges in the PBA that you haven’t done yet – the PBA will look like you completed it. You will also be awarded the PBA completion badge as well.
drkchclvr says
It actually says all in-progress badge albums so to me that means if you’ve started the album, Pogo will complete it for you and you will get all the badges.
Anyone know the answer for sure? I’m just guessing..
missymiss1000 says
I have one PBA that I still want to buy so I will when the sale is on. That will use up most of my gems that I have left and if I don’t get the games done, at least the badges will be automatically awarded. I don’t play much on Pogo now with all of the changes. I wish the old games weren’t leaving, but I guess it’s a fait accompli.

RyzandShyn says
I have 177 PBAs.
So, if I understand this correctly – and please correct me if I’m wrong – shortly after March 10th, all the badges contained in them will jump out of Album formation and line up in single file formation under the My Rewards section on Early Access?
That’s going to be a hot mess to look at!
Mozartjea says
There were a total of 190 pba’s released over the years and 25 of those were free marathon (pma) albums. Some of the other 165 albums were pma’s also but they were not free.
On the new pogo experience site in your profile there are 4 categories of my rewards badges and the categories are:
Mix n Match
Game Award
Event
Others
The pba badges are currently listed in the “Others” category alphabetically by badge name. The album names and the games these badges were associated with are not listed. The list only gives the badge name and the date completed. That’s the new pogo experience. I know this because I went there and looked.

RyzandShyn says
Thanks, Julia. I went and looked also and came to the same findings. I kept looking because I wanted to be wrong, I wanted to find that I had missed something.
Like I said, hot mess! I need my badges organized in a better fashion than that and with more documentation than that.
Tom says
I had thought of getting a couple of the ones I don’t already have, but idk… it’s not clear to me if they’re going to give us all the badges for the albums — say if I bought a 10 badge album and finished 6, started on the 7th, do I get 11 (10 badges + 1 completion badge) or merely 7 badges (6 completed + 1 activated)?
Until I can figure that out, I’m NOT buying anything.
GL on badges tomorrow,
Tom
Sandy H says
I am showing that I own 189 PBA’s and all are completed. Does anyone know for sure how many PBA’s have been issued?
MomsBassetHound says
There were a total of 190 PBAs.
Suz
Blysse says
Thanks for the info.
Looks like I’m missing 11 of them.
MomsBassetHound says
You’re very welcome!
Hopefully you can pick some of them up on the sale if you want to.
