I never ~loved~ the original, but tolerated it for badges. The new one will be the same for me.

I will say that I really like the art.

You know you don’t HAVE to get the badge, right? I promise it doesn’t go on your permanent record.

But it’s the accomplishment of getting a hard challenge completed, for some of us.

I watchied the video of Crazy Cakes.. It is fast moving game…. It looks if it is the same process baking sweet or sweets for customers …there are challenges and looks like a brand new game …. new items to bake … has castle twist… with the ovens in the middle….

I used to like the old one several years ago but have noticed that I am not as quick as I used to be. For this reason, I dislike any challenge that is timed.

This new game has more detailed graphics than the java version, but is less appealing to me than the original.

It reminds me of CGI in movies not “feeling” as real as the more old fashioned special effects.
Recently. I heard a podcast commenter discussing this. He summed it up this way: “CGI looks real but feels fake and analog looks fake but feels real”

I imagine I will play the new game for badges only.

Time will tell whether I like it after I try it.

I thought it was interesting that they added power ups. I just hope they don’t make the game so difficult that you have to use them…lol

But the old game had power-ups too, they were given by some customers as payments (mages and sometimes dwarves)… maybe these ones will be free, too.

They had powerups in the original: they were routine gifts of the wizards and occasionally the other characters would gift them as well. I remember a sundial which was a day extender; a wand that burst into fireworks and made all customers happy; there was a flowering plant on the counter that could be used to make one customer happy again; there was one that looked like a wallet that collected all gold for a length of time; and several others. My worry is that they won’t be handed out by the characters but instead will require gems .. That will take away the enjoyment of the game for me. Otherwise, I have been looking forward to CC2 🙂

Hard to tell what the heck is going on.
But I loved the original, have enjoyed the old Pogo “time management game” genre, and am hopeful they did a good job.
    We shall see 🙂

Crazy Cakes was never a favorite of mine, but I tolerated it to do badges. The new one looks similar to the old, and looks very fast moving. Like Catmom mentioned, I don’t like games that are timed either. I will do the badges, and see how I like the game to determine if I want to play it more.

I love time management games and finished the one in classic pogo within months of it coming out. Back then we didn’t have to buy things to get ahead in a game and if this game requires us to buy things I won’t be finishing it.

I don’t know about this one. I ranked out in the old one a long time ago as I loved that version but I will try this one when it is available but seeing it is going to have power ups may mean you won’t be able to win as easily as you did on the original.

I never play the game… except when I have to for a weekly badge.

I hated the old game and am sure I probably will this one to I do have to say the badges looked pretty I hate the timed games I am not as quick in my old age as I was a few years ago Having dementia does not help any either Have a blessed day to all of you

Looks interesting. Like the colors and look of the badges. Played the original and was finally getting pretty good at serving those customers. Will always give the new, remake, games the benefit of the doubt and this one is no exception. Tuesday will tell the tale. 🙂

    Have a good day all!

Not a fan of timed games, didn’t like either this one or the hair salon one but I played them both for free badges. I may do the same with this one….if I can play it on my computer, I still can’t play Jigsaw Treasure Hunter on the desktop because it’s nearly impossible to move the pieces. I never played it before though so I’m not caring much, lol.

I’m not really excited about the new HOG game either but I am looking forward to Jungle Gin, Canasta, Thousand Island and other new Solitaires. 🙂

Agree with others. Never was a fan of the original.
But at least it’s not another Mahjong or HOG….
This one looks sort of worse graphically to me.
They went more artistically along the lines of a comic book than being fully modern. Not sure how I feel about that, especially with this kind of game.

I’ve been informed the power-ups will be free (given to you by customers) but there are also things called “Boosts” that you can add to your game at the beginning that will give you advantages in the game, like being able to carry 4 dishes instead of 2 or making all dishes cook faster.

    • MomsBassetHound says

      December 8, 2019 at 3:55 pm

Any idea how many gems the boosts are going to cost?

I like it, because I’m hopeful it’s the beginning of an outside advertising campaign. I think it was created for that purpose, rather than for current membership – it does a super job creating interest in the game and the features of Pogo. I could definitely see this ad being released to the public once Early Access is a bit more established. That’d be great, I’d love to see more players join. I hope Pogo makes many more videos of the games, it’d be so cool to see their ads running on a webpage.

I wasn’t a fan of the old crazy cakes or most all of the timed games. I’m slowing down and my hand isn’t as steady as it used to be so get frustrated with games like Crazy Cakes. Will probably only do it for weekly badges.

New games can show up at any time of the day, but it’s usually closer to late afternoon Eastern time than first thing in the day.
