“Northern Excursion” is a really dumb name when it includes Antarctica, the planet’s SOUTHERNMOST continent…
RyzandShyn says
LOL, that’s a good catch there, Blysse.
And I imagine the St. John’s they’re talking about is the one located in the US Virgin Islands, which is, technically, north of the equator, but not by much.
I’ve always wanted to go there or St. Lucia.

Actually they mean St. John’s Newfoundland so they’re OK on the Northern part for that one, lol. I read it somewhere earlier but don’t remember where now. The only reason I’ve heard of St. John’s, Newfoundland is because a singer, Alan Doyle, previously from Great Big Sea, is from there and I’ve had friends who have been there. 🙂

Thanks, Cindy! I haven’t started the new levels yet so I couldn’t see which they were talking about and am glad to know it is indeed a Northern Excursion destination.
But that kind of makes the Antarctica mistake even more glaring…lol.

They clearly meant snowy/cold/icy/etc.
IMO “Wintry Excursion” would have been a better name. It fits all the locations AND is appropriate for the time of year for most Pogo players right now.
Blysse says
No, it’s in Newfoundland, Canada, so that one’s in the North.

There are TWO cities in the Canadian Maritimes with variations of that name. The one they are talking about is St. John’s in Newfoundland…..but the other one is in New Brunswick (due south of NL) and spelled Saint John. A friend of mine lives in Newfoundland, so finally got it straight. I have been to the other one as well.
The Maritimes are gorgeous and we are going to head back to Prince Edward Island next summer to relax and stroll thru my ancestors’ cemeteries, lol. They arrived 200 years ago from Scotland and England.
Cheers from freezing cold Ontario!!
