If you’ve had a difficult time matching two Autumn Dolls together ten times in one game to earn the Family Scarf limited-time badge in Trizzle, you’re not alone! You’ve only got until December 1st to earn the Autumn Dolls badges, including the Family Scarf Badge, so don’t get all Trizzled-out yet!
Here are some strategies I used to earn the badge:
1. Gather your supplies
A pen and paper are handy to keep a tally of how many times you’ve matched two Autumn Dolls together. The game does not keep track of Autumn Dolls or your matches of two Autumn Dolls anywhere.
You’ll also need some patience and frustration tolerance. I can’t tell you how many times my tally was at nine of the required matches and the game ended, or even worse, how many times I had two matching Autumn Dolls on the board and a cascading set of matches wiped one out. Good thing I like Trizzle!
You’ll also need a little bit of luck — especially in getting lots of Autumn Dolls and not getting cascading matches that wipe out single Autumn Dolls. So grab your charms and rabbit’s feet if you’ve got ’em!
2. Start with the naked littles
Begin the game by making as many matches of little dolls that are not wearing scarves. You just want to get rid of them in hopes an Autumn Doll will fall into place. Making a four-match or a five-match is good too.
Avoid making matches of medium or big dolls until you absolutely have to. Your singular focus as you play should be to make room for Autumn Dolls to show up on your board.
3. Keep your eye on the single ladies
As you are making matches, try not to make any matches that contain a single Autumn Doll. Remember, you’re setting yourself up to have the best chance at two Autumn Dolls of the same color on the board at the same time.
Also, think ahead at what might either also move into place to wipe out a single Autumn Doll or cascade down to take one out. And watch out for making mega-matches next to single Autumn Dolls as a mega-match will spin her scarf right off as she grows!
As soon as two Autumn Dolls of the same color are on your board, match them! It’s totally fine to sacrifice moves to match 2 Autumn Dolls together. So, if you need to make two moves to get two Autumn Dolls matched, do it! You can also probably get away with making three+ moves to match them but if you do this a lot as it could end your game early.
5. Know what counts
Manually matching two Autumn Dolls together obviously counts towards this badge, but making a mega-match (three big dolls) that spins the scarves off of two Autumn Dolls of any color also counts. At this point I do not know if cascading matches that contain two Autumn Dolls count or not but I did not count them in my tallying.
As you can see I didn’t use any power-ups to complete this badge, but I also was actively trying for it for many hours before I refined my strategy and got a large number of Autumn Dolls. If you’re tired of trying or just want to get the badge faster, power-ups can help.
I finally got the family scarf badge (bug-eyed after many hours) by using the “paint booster” when I was almost at 10 matches and had two scarf dolls easy to match but of different colors. I lined up the two scarfs with a third matching one of their colors and used the booster to paint the odd man out to match the other two.
Brenda M says:
I just got this badge and used my paints and extra lives, I made matches of the same color, that’s all that would work for me. I had 7 and used extra lives to get the other 3, and I added 4 or 5 more to make sure they were all counted!!! lol
