If you’ve been invited to join Pogo’s Early Access for the redesign of their site, you’ll notice that there are now three free Special Edition badges to be earned by going through the various tutorial tours on Early Access features.
To get started, head to Early Access (you won’t be able to get in with this link if you haven’t been invited yet — more details below).
The main page should introduce you to Joyce and walk you through the tutorial. If she does not pop up, scroll to the bottom of the page and in the lower left hand corner click “Replay the Tour”. This will award you the first badge.
In addition to the main page tour, you can do a tour of the Games link and the Challenges link on the main page. Each of those will award you a badge as well. If the tour does not pop up for you, read the comments below on how to get the tour for the last two badges.
Here are the three badges:
Welcome to Pogo Badge
To get this badge, visit the home page and if the Tour does not pop up, scroll to the bottom left corner and click Replay the Tour.
Pogo Explorer Badge
To get this badge, visit a game (like Poppit! Bingo) and if the Tour does not pop up, scroll to the bottom left corner and click Replay the Tour.
Welcome Aboard Challenge Badge
To get this badge, visit Challenges and if the Tour does not pop up, scroll to the bottom left corner and click Replay the Tour.
Once you have earned them, you can switch back to view them on the Classic site in your Special Edition album or all badges list. There isn’t a way to view your badge collection on Early Access yet.
How to get Pogo Early Access
If you haven’t been invited to Early Access yet (the invitation comes via email), don’t fret. Once you get invited, you’ll be able to go through the tours and earn the badges at that time.
Just make sure you’ve filled out the form to join and then hang tight. Pogo will be inviting more players via email in waves over the course of their redesign and using the feedback they receive they’ll be tweaking the site to make it into what players are asking for. In looking at previous rounds of invites, Pogo appears to be separating waves by as few as two weeks.
To tide you over until you’re invited, here’s a sneak peek of the home page:
What you see above is a barebones version of what Pogo has in store for us. As mentioned before, Pogo will be using the feedback they receive they’ll be tweaking the site to make it into what players are asking for.
But What About Tokens?
In addition, for those of you wondering what the replacement for tokens is, it’s not really addressed in the redesign, or at least in this phase. Right now, though, there is an intriguing line of text on the Club Pogo Benefits page (emphasis ours):
Access over 1,000 gaming Challenges. Earn exclusive Badges and Challenge Points for your achievements. You’ll also unlock Weekly Challenges and additional Daily Challenges.
So they’ll be called Challenge Points, but we don’t really know any more at this point. Let your imaginations run wild with that tidbit of information, maybe!
