Pogo Mini: Marshmallow casualty!Happy Weekend Everyone!

I so love this weekend’s topic — which came from mrslavallie a long time ago — I’m using it again. She shared this story: “Had an idea while playing Zuma’s Revenge today – specifically, level 5 – accidentally clicked on another ‘lily pad’ on the screen to find out you can MOVE the frog to the other side of the board – wow, those fruit bonuses sure just got easier!” That was an ah-ha moment for sure, and I think this weekend might bring some more for us!

What little Pogo secret were you late in finding out/wish you had figured out sooner?

  2. The best one lately was the way to double the chocolate chip cookies in Level 9 of Cookie Connect…GREAT hint.

    On another note: Any idea when there might be a gem sale? I’m down to 8 little, pitiful gems and hesitant to buy if a sale is imminent.

    • I’m down to 60 on my account, and holding out until they’re gone. I still have 221 on my 2nd account, but they are going fast 🙂

      I was hoping for a gem sale during Member Appreciation Week.

      • I am also hopeful for a gem sale. When I messaged Pogo Llama a few weeks ago to complain about having to spend so many gems for fast retiring badges, I specifically said it would be helpful if Pogo could at least give up a gem sale. Most likely it just fell on deaf ears. We have until Tuesday to see if they help us all out.

    • I’m so hoping for a Gem Sale. But in my opinion this Member Appreciation Week was a bust. Nothing great or exciting.

  3. The frog moves. Never would have found that one. Brilliant!

    Mine: 2-player games in Canasta: computer has to pick up the pile on or after the 10th card goes on it if he can meld. Makes the game much easier to predict and win.

  4. I just noticed 4 new gifts at the top of the page. Is there a QA included in the list. I am afraid of just that. Anyone out there know? Please let me know.

  5. I didn’t find out until a few weeks ago—by accident!—that you can right-click to deal a new row of cards in Aces Up. It blew my mind.

  6. – I saved myself from panic when I found out that the ticking bombs in Bejeweled Twist are counting down MOVES, not SECONDS.
    – Duh moment when I figured out I could figure out the Word Whomp words I was missing because the list is in alphabetical order. I know, Duh!
    – I could access a wealth of game and badge help by using the search box on the right hand side of the BH home page and/or the search box in the Q&A section and reading through the results.

  7. My aha moment came thanks to Aj who wrote the tip about BCA and how to find a hint star in every episode. The last time I had to find hint stars in BCA it took me a very long time. Thanks again Aj!

A huge thank you to the gentleman who recommended Rustic Garden #1, Level 2 (which is now available to anyone regardless of whether or not you’ve completed previous gardens) for Solitaire Garden badges; It’s almost impossible to lose, and you can use that level for getting two stars or better (only once in 100 games did I get less than 2 stars), maxing out the 3X meter (can always do it once, but sometimes twice in a single 3-minute game), and easy for accuracy badges. I’ve never lost a hand in that garden. This tip saved me hours of playing time, and I can’t thank that BadgeHungry member enough for the tip.

    • I believe I was the one who told about Rustic Garden #1, level 2, last week. I am not a gentleman, lol, I am a lady. If the tip was given before last week, then it wasn’t me. I gave it during the Mahjong Garden-Solitaire Gardens marathon we just finished.

      The tip I got many, many years ago was for First Class Solitaire — we had a weekly challenge where we needed to win 3 games IN A ROW. It was near impossible for me at that time, until I was given the tip that after you win 1 game, if you won’t win a 2nd game, you X out of the game, and come back in, and your progress of 1/3 was saved. Keep doing that until you win all 3 games. You can go out and back in as many times as it takes to win 3 games.

  9. The best thing I found was in PHLINX II you can just do the tutorial for power-ups and dropped stones – BUT make sure you try to do a real level after doing several tutorials

  10. In Sweet Tooth Town, I got all the levels,but only 17,000 tokens. I’ve played countless times…but nothing. Please help! I need 50,000 to get to the Chocolate level.

    • Sweet tooth town is a sore subject for me… I have won 3076 levels I have 8576 stars and 150 Million Total points and I was stuck at rank 14 of 150 ranks needing 24 more rank points to the next level. I improved my coins by increasing my 3 star counts until I had 50 000 choc. coins to construct the last 30 levels in cookie jar. Well that was nice to finally get credit for that effort.

      After countless calls to the tech teams, I was told I would have to finish all the levels I have left that I have never worked on before.. Well I had a tech wait while I completed one level. I had to purchase 86 gems in power ups to do that one level and wow my count went to needing 23 more rank points to reach level “15.”

      At this point I have more equity in Pogo than I have in my home. My 13,182 badges have cost me more than my car, but I can’t drive them to the store. I spend a great percentage of my monthly income in Pogo but I am not able to satisfy my thirst or hunger with my badges. Neither am I able wear my badges as medals of honor or as an accessory to my wardrobe.

      • Isn’t that the truth, Bryan….and yet we continue to work on these badges. I don’t know about you but I’ve spent a ton in the Mini Mall as well. I continue to purchase Mix and Match badges because I am obsessed with the Super Secret badges. I got one of my, the Breaking Bad one, and I desperately want the Twilight Zone one, plus a few others. The quest goes on and on….

    • You can’t earn coins by replaying levels, only if you don’t have 3 stars. And you only get coins there if you increase the number of stars that you had.

      If you don’t have any levels that haven’t been done you are stuck in limbo, like many are.

  11. I think it’s a great topic also. What would really be helpful is when you are mentioning the great hints, how about explaining them to the rest of us? Such as, and a little late for me as I already have the badge, how DO you increase the cookies in Level 9? And what is the secret to finding the hints in BCA? And any others that have or will be mentioned. The only hint I knew was for Lost Temple Poker and that’s certainly moot now. 🙁

    • The secret for finding Hint Stars in BCA came from AJ who wrote:

      I was late in finding this out and I don’t think I would have figured this out on my own. I did accidentally find out about the frog in Zuma’s Revenge from clicking my mouse. That was a big surprise for me. I also found out about right clicking in Aces Up by accident (again from clicking).

      I just remembered something about Trizzle (even though it’s not part of any current marathon). The game kept freezing up on me when I used either Internet Explorer or Chrome. Once I downloaded Firefox the game didn’t freeze, lag, etc. Thus I only use Firefox for Trizzle.

    • This works on any Cookie Connect level and will double the cookies removed and number of customers served.

      Step 1: LOSE the game. With customer levels, just leave one customer un-served.
      Step 2: Click to NOT use extra moves.
      Step 3: Let the game score add up, rank progress count, etc–DO NOT CLICK ANYTHING until all of that has completely finished.
      Step 4: Click the orange X on the top right of the scoring area.
      Step 5: Your rank and badge progress will then double.

  12. Forgot to ask….the tutorial in Phlinx II doesn’t work for me. It does for a friend of mine so what in the heck am I doing wrong? She said do the tutorial twice and then play. Well, I’ve done that and pffftttt on a ton of stones falling. Then in chat someone said to do the tutorial every other game. Did that as well. And pffttttt again. Could someone explain exactly how best to utilize the tutorial? I mean, must you do everything by the letter, even down to clicking on the ” i ” regarding the explanation of the power ups? And I’ve done both, clicking everything or just whizzing through the steps. I’d appreciate an explanation if someone cares to help.

    • I just whiz through all the steps — just click away for all the info they give. After playing the tutorial all the way through, I press “play” on the right side of the screen, and I don’t try to get any stones to fall, I just shoot stones up kind of in a row coming down, until the entire page of stones curl up and come down. Check the “B” on the right side of your screen and see how many you got from one tutorial. I usually get around 75-100 total. Most of the time, I do 3 tutorials, before hitting the “Play” button. I have gotten over 500 doing it that way. Good luck, and if there’s anything I left out, I’m sorry. It’s hard to explain in typing, I wish I could show you in person!

    • After you play however many rounds of the tutorial you want, you need to play a regular game from the map (Pyramid, Gate, Temple, or Celestial). You don’t actually have to play, clicking on New Game will give you credit for however many of whatever you did in the tutorial.

    • Did you click on new game after you started to play the regular game? you have to do that and then the cannon ok and your score should come up. I was playing the tutorial 4 times and getting a lot finished in no time

    • I don’t know if my explanation would help but here it is:

      After Tutorial is done (the question mark on bottom), l see Horus Temple (you may see a different name of the game).

      Click on Play (you will see instructions about stones), click on Next (arrow). After that look for NEW GAME on the Bottom Left Side, click on that.

      It will say Restart? You click yes. Then click Continue (located under the words You gave up!).

      • I can’t thank you enough. It’s not giving me anything close to 500, but it’s better than playing. Here I’ve actually been playing the game after doing the tutorial. What a maroon. 😉

        • Glad my explanation helped. What I didn’t know (I already finished that badge) was that others did the Tutorial 2 or 3 times in a row before clicking the PLAY button for an actual game. If I had known that (duh!) I think the badge would have went faster.

    • on Phlinx II when playing the tutorial … first of all I do one tutorial, click play on the page to start a regular game but I just click new game, done with that, click on the “B” and find out how many stones or whatever color stones I am going for … divide that into what the challenge is … then I play the tutorial for however long, say like 30 or so rounds, whatever it is going to take to do the challenge, then click on the page to start a regular game, hit new game and I get the badge …. easy weasy … all have a good weekend … legit

      • I do 5 rounds then the regular game. I would hate to do 29 rounds and have the game freeze on me and no credit. 😫

  14. i have had one friend on pogo try and explain that treasure game – still beyond me guess she figured out the clues as to what games to play – pogo just putting too many badge games up at once

    • If you are still trying to figure out the treasure hunt I suggest scrolling through the topics here via the main page, you’ll see a topic for this last week and you’ll find the list of games there =)

I reached rank 21 in First Class Solitaire before I finally noticed that I wasn’t getting full credit for the piles because I put the multiplier card on after several cards were already in the foundation piles. I wish I would have noticed that a whole lot sooner cuz then I’d be farther in that game than what I am. Now its time to go back to Quinns. Hopefully next week I will have the time to make 3500 matches in Bejeweled 2 so then I will be at rank 60. All these marathons haven’t allowed me the time to finish the game, especially with my mom being laid up and not able to do anything on her account. Why couldn’t Pogo have had the 60 QA levels in the first week??!!

  17. My big ah ha moment came when I discovered Badge Hungry…I googled some help for pogo and came upon this site…lo and behold there were trivial pursuit answers….how amazing…and tips and tricks from everyone. Now BH is one of the first sites I pull up in the morning…..thank you….

  18. My aha moment came in Hearts when I learned that you could pass across the board instead of to your right every time. If you had a partner, this made is SO MUCH EASIER to shoot the moon. because you didn’t get a low heart from the bot

    Hope we get back to normal and only two weekly challenges, LOL.

    Many of the tips I’ve been using for the games have come from this site. Thank you Lura!!!

    I had not seen the tip for Zuma’s Revenge where you can move the frog back and forth in level 5. But I did find it by accident. LOL I have also noticed that if your timing is right, and you have the right combination of ball colors, if you can eliminate enough balls as they emerge from a tunnel, the line will retreat back into the tunnel and be shorter when it emerges. And if a Power Up appears in a gap at that point, the line will usually retreat back into the tunnel, also.

    Another tip I got from this site (a while back) may be helpful for anyone doing a Badge for Quick Finds in Mahjong Escape. The tip is to use the Byzantine level and play level 16. All the tiles are in a single layer. I got between 50 and 60 each game.

  21. Thanks all for such a great subject this weekend AND for all of the tips – some I knew, but others I had no idea about.
    I have added a few more notes in my “Pogo Folder”. I keep the folder with all kinds of help and other issues in the games. I cannot think of anything at the moment, but if I do, I will definitely share with all of you.
    Having a Pogo Folder is a great way for me to stay organized. I also have a small spiral notebook with Match and Match Album numbers along with the last badge needed to complete an album and a blank space for the “Completion Badge” that we get when completing an album.

  23. Does any one have any tips on how to win at Mahjong Garden using the temple tiles??? I cant even win on easy game, and they want you to play medium level ??? Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks

    • There is a hint button on the right which say “Show all”. When hit it will show all available matches. Take a photo. You can to this 3 x’sl

    • First off, it’s not the temple tiles. You must change the puzzle layout from animals to temples.

      You can use whatever tiles you like. I used the ones they call “simple”.

  24. Does anyone know why I finished all weekly challenges and badge marathon and Treasure Chase and it still says I have 71/72 done in Album.

    • I love MG but I do not like the Temple tiles, I guess partly because I’m not familiar with them. All I can say is that a couple of times I had a tough time doing one of the Temple,/Medium puzzles so switched back to the Animal puzzles to get it done. Once I even switched back to Animal/Easy to get it finished. Of course that puzzle won’t count against the badge but at least it will allow you to move forward.

    • I have the same problem. I have done every weekly this year and today it shows 71/72. On the other hand, earlier this week it showed 67/72. I guess Pogo is aware of the problem. Weird, though. Nice to see it’s not just me. Have a great weekend everyone.

      • Have you completed all 12 of the Treasure Chase Badges? Those 12 Badges are included in the 2019 Album count.

  25. For those of us that send novella’s , only to have them disappear once you hit send.

    I use ONLY Goggle Chrome to type such long winded notes. Simply press the black BACK arrow on your upper left hand screen. 99.9 % you’ll be able to recover your novella 🙂

    Hope this helps many people/ of course you could always copy/paste before you hit send.

  26. I didn’t know until the second week that the Treasure Chase was counting as weekly badges, so I had to make up the badges on the second week. I found out when I checked my weekly badge albums. I finished everything today. 🙂

  27. Mahjong Garden and Quinn’s Aquarium are my two weakest “Mahjong” type games. Last month for the first time I did not complete a Marathon because I did not earn “2 QA” badges. Today to my surprise I earned the Mahjong Garden Coral Cup #5 badge and the “QA” Coral Cup #7 badge and therefore completed this month’s Coral Cup Marathon, :-). I multi-activated the “QA” M-n-M with this months “QA” Treasure Chest weekly which requires completing “60” games in “20” minutes. I completed “10 of 60” games and then I multi-activated last month’s Marathon M-n-M which requires winning “40” games under “15” minutes. I have now completed “30 of 60” and “19 of 40” and I’m going to try and earn both badges tomorrow as well as complete this month’s Treasure Chest challenge. Hang-in there and earn your badges “yall”!

    • Good luck with your QA badge. I now have 55/60. It has been slow going since I didn’t buy one power-up. It took a lot of restarting or new random puzzles. I tried to pick the smaller random puzzles thinking they would be easier. Sometimes it didn’t work.

      • Since my comment earlier I have now finished the QA Treasure Chase badge. It took that length of time to complete it. Now I don’t want to see another QA badge for awhile.

        I have the Treasure Chase now complete and Ella has arrived home. I noticed the 4 power-up packs we get for completing the Chase are for QA. I hope the animated badge we get is not for QA.

            I just finished my QA, now I have to do it on my other account. The entire 60 games took me about 7 to 8 hours, without a single power up. I finished 2 M&M and I’m almost done the Fairy M&M for the 6 sets of shells twenty time. I may finish that tonight before I go over to my 2nd account.

  28. When I first joined Pogo, a friend at that time showed me how to play Kenopop. I enjoyed the game but was wondering what those bins were for at the bottom right corner and I didn’t know what was going into them. That part of the game wasn’t explained to me. I was ranked out when I decided to find out for myself. They were power-ups and helped you to get a few more hits if the ball landed in one or more of them plus you got extra tokens. Sometimes you do learn something when you are well on in the game or in my case ranked out. lol

  29. just one i use in bingo lau – pick an empty room cover all the numbers on the cards as the game starts then sit back and wait till they are all called then call bingo! result lol lol quick badge!

  30. Combo Meter in Claire Hart Secrets & Spies

    This “Aha” moment was given to me by my daughter. Just recently we were both struggling fiercely burt unable to get the combo meter to 6X fast enough to make matches to fulfill the weekly challenge requirements Then she called me excitedly to point out that — on the game page just to the left of the combo meter was a little white clock icon. This enabled me to buy a power-up that immediately placed the meter on X6, allowing me to collect all the objects in the scene. FOR ONE GEM!

    I had never even noticed this before — I never even considered buying gems to play hogs.
    I avoid buying any power-ups as much as possible, but do use them on a few games..

    But this was a true “AhA” for me. We both then finished that challenge in short time.

  31. All this time I thought Quick Find like in the challenge now in Mahjong Escape, was getting pairs quickly like in Pogo Addiction Solitaire. But I can see that I am wrong. By playing this way I am not getting nearly the credit I expect. Can someone explain Quick Find to me?

  32. I just finished my Coral Cup marathon (Mahjong Garden was the hardest for me, but I did better as time went on). Only because of my dear husband finishing my Quinn’s in the Treasure Chase marathon, I am now finished with it, too! I feel so relieved right now — but I can’t rest for long — I have a few badges to do for my hubby in his Coral Cup marathon. Thankfully, I like games he doesn’t, and he likes games I don’t. Works out great! Enjoy your Sunday, all!

    Has anyone every noticed on Claire Hart Secret Shadows that the typewriter in Episode 1 (freebie) only has like 6 keys? It makes me laugh every time I click on it!
