Kathy says
Well I love the book except for the QA was thrown in there. So I won`t be buying it. If QA wasn`t included, I would of gotten it in a heartbeat. But I`ll pass.
Jan the third says
yes…me too..was so looking forward to this album…but am not going to buy it just because the QA is in it..I’m at the point that now I only do the games I really enjoy and have fun doing…and only buy badges for the games I love to do.
meowmeow3 says
My thoughts exactly Kathy. I won’t even purchase the album if/when it goes on sale.
nznuts says
Kathy you said it all! QA = NO
Cher says
I completely agree Kathy! Quinns ruined the whole album. Not for me. GL to all who purchase it.
Cher π
BafflingBarnacles says
Since the QA badge isn’t god awful… 20 shell matches isn’t bad really, I’ll buy it.
I like the rest of the games. Glad to see they are including Aces Up more. Now they need to remember Turbo 21 lol
Judi says
The Quinn’s Aquarium IS awful if you’re stuck on a level and can’t do it without power-ups since they don’t give credit for games you lose. Unlike all other games, you can’t redo any level you’ve already done if you’re still in the first fish tank. I think there would be a lot less complaining if you could go back and choose a level like you can in MahJong Escape, Cookie Connect, Jewel Academy, Jet Set Solitaire, etc. Sometimes I actually think that Pogo is trying to drive players away.
tiggerlicious196 says
I will enjoy this album, nice choice of games! =D Good luck to those who will purchase this
jimmiejim says
So what is a carriage in Aces Up? And what is considered a final attraction in Jet Set?
Cindy4764 says
Good grief, carriages? They must mean planes for your squadron.
I like this album, will probably buy it but not right now, waiting to see what else will show up this month.
I even like Quinn’s. π I don’t do Jet Set anymore except for badges and this won’t be hard, the final attraction is the plane, the last puzzle in each city. I’ll just go all the way back to the first San Francisco and do that plane.
Not crazy about Stack Em but I guess I can do 500 sheep fairly quickly. I like all the rest and the badges are fun.
MomsBassetHound says
I’m going to guess that a carriage is a plane in Aces Up π
For Jet Set the final attraction is the last puzzle in a city, the one with plane on top.
Good Luck!
Suz
RyzandShyn says
I think a carriage is part of the “train” which we add to as we eliminate a certain amount of cards – is it 4 or 5?
MomsBassetHound says
I try and not even look to the left, so would never have had a shot at the correct answer π
Thanks for figuring this out!
Suz
RyzandShyn says
No problem – I thought it interesting that someone on the Pogo staff is familiar enough with the term to call them “carriage”. Also, there hasn’t been an Aces Up badge that has had that as criteria (that I can recall or find in my collection) and the train has always been part of the game.
RyzandShyn says
oops…I didn’t look in the right place – I have two badges where we needed to add “carriages”
Lura says
Those requirements most likely have been updated with the conversion to HD. They were probably to earn tokens before. Do a search here on the badge names to see.
Cindy4764 says
Ditto, I never even notice the train, Iβm just trying to get the cards. π
WCurry5990 says
Hi “All”;
Yes, the “carriages” are what you add to the train. I have just activated the Aces Up! HD challenge and the first game I added “4” train “connections” and when the game was over, I had completed “4 of 40” carriages. Sorry, I didn’t noticed how many “discarded” cards creates the carriages. Good Luck “Yall”!
sirron1957 says
And I’m going to guess it the train cars where the cards go when you select them.
sirron1957
Madeforlovingguy says
My first thought was planes but then I remembered the train. Is it 4 or 5 matches in a row that adds a carriage to it which is the multiplier? Could they mean that? I haven’t got the album yet so can’t answer.
Biscuitssis says
Great album. Love the badges.
Cyndy says
I don’t get it, why do they keep making the badges with Flash? Do they plan on converting them all when Flash dies or what? Ugh, I want the album but won’t buy it or any other flash badges/albums that come out because they haven’t mentioned what they plan on doing with our purchased badges in the future when Flash is gone.
Brenda M. says
I’m confused, I don’t see a flash badge in this collection! Which one is it?
Cyndy says
I was talking about the badges themselves, not the games. If you right click on the badges, they are made with Flash.
MomsBassetHound says
Every badge in this PBA is for a game that has already been converted to HTML. There are no Flash games included.
Suz
nznuts says
I think he means the badge itself is flash not talking about the game.
Beverly (BBrown0316) says
Yes, they are HTML games. So why do we have to “Click to enable Adobe Flash Player” to even see the badges? β both on the Pogo game pages (challenges tab), in the albums themselves, (and here on BH). It would seem that the badges are being designed using Flash.
Brenda M. says
You must be using Chrome, IE doesn’t require that.
Beverly (BBrown0316) says
I know that. I have both Chrome and IE 11. It is the fact that the badges for HTML games are still being designed in Flash. Why? That doesn’t make sense. Will we even be able to see them when Flash is no more?
Madeforlovingguy says
Ugggh decisions. Really want the album but QA puts me off. Will still likely get it though.
Good luck all
RyzandShyn says
Me too! I really like the badges and I really like the icon too. But I don’t play Quinn’s, so I am undecided.
okladyplayer says
From the beginning of my membership I bought all the Albums. But not in the last 3 or 4 years. Pogo has employees with Tunnel Vision.. Same games over and over. I bet none of them have ever played these games. Spending less and less money every year. What a bummer this is with Quinn in it. π
BafflingBarnacles says
Same games? There’s lots of games in here we have very little badges for their HD versions. You realize the list of games they can use is very small? I prefer their current method of trying to include HD games compared to using HOGs and Mahjongs every other week/album! (Quinns could definitely be left out of this album though)
WCurry5990 says
Thanks “Lura” for posting this PBA was released. Personally, I’m not a fan of Quinn’s Aquarium, but I do plan on buying the album. My main concern is that of late, all of Pogo’s challenges, to me, are tough and very time consuming. I’m now starting to get behind in re completing badges and I’m not happy. GOOD LUCK to those of you who have or plan to acquire the PBA.
shelnick9293 says
I was so looking forward to this album but with QA in it I guess I am going to have to pass. I still have the QA album which has never been finished but at least that was free so don’t care . Will all the other HD games that are available why QA again. Could have put Tri-Peaks Solitaire in it and I would have bought it in a heartbeat. The only way I would get this one if for some reason it was offered free.
Susan says
I’m getting the album! I don’t care for Quinn’s, but the badge is do-able. I’m more worried about getting a straight or better in Double Deuce Poker!! = )
Beverly (BBrown0316) says
Well, I like Quinn’s Aquarium (I think one gets better at it the more you play it). But what makes me hesitant to buy this album is Double Deuce Poker… 24 hands with a “straight” or better! I’ll have to think about it, but will probably go for it. The badges are cute.
WCurry5990 says
Hi “Susan” and “Beverly”;
I have been playing Double Deuce Poker for over “2” hours and have only gotten “1” straight or better. The “1” hand I won was a straight that was originally dealt to me. When I need “1” cards, I never get it. When I need “2” cards, I only get “1” and when I need “3” cards I usually get “2”. I’m starting to really regret having bought this PBA and I’m getting tired of all these tough challenges Pogo is now releasing. I have lost so many hands that when I play again, I’m only going to bet “1” chip instead of the “max.”. If “dueces” were wild or “Win 3 of a Kind or better” was the case, this would be a very doable challenge. I really hope that those of you who have acquired this PBA have much, much better luck than I am.
RyzandShyn says
Sorry it’s going so poorly, WC, but thanks for posting about how it’s going for you to help the rest of us decide what to do.
Hoping your luck in the game changes!
WCurry5990 says
Hi “RyzandShyn”;
Thanks for wishing me lucck because I did earn the badge and it took about another hour and a half. What I found to be the best hands to go for were –
1.__Flushes;
2.__Straights; and
3.__Full Houses.
Like I said above, I only betted “1” coin per game and I went from level #20 to #21. Again, GOOD LUCK “Everyone”!
Susan says
Thank you for the encouragement, WC!! And WTG!! = )
Beverly (BBrown0316) says
You encouraged me to go ahead and get the album. I decided to go after the Double Deuce first (and get it GONE). It wasn’t bad, and I got the badge.
WCurry5990 says
You are quite welcome “Susan” and thank you for your congratulations. Have a great and safe weekend.
swirrrly says
It’s not Halloween without a Spooky Slots badge. I’m boycotting buying any gems and therefore badges too. Thankful they have been giving us so many free ones….. I have tons of badges still to do.
dottiedeedee says
Spooky Slots is JA VA. I’ve tried playing it (Using Pale Moon, 32-bit (64-bit doesn’t work, even on my 64-bit computer). In an attempt to rank out. The wheels spun and everything seemed to work. But I did not receive any credits towards advancing..
jhazeleyes says
I bought it, I like the games.
WCurry5990 says
Hi “All”;
In re Jewel Academy for those of you who need a level to work on, checkout level #35. After only “4” games, I have removed “360” Yellow gems which is an average of “90” per game. The advantage of level #35 is that it has “80” moves. so one can focus on setting up and removing Yellow gems. Also be advised that you do “not” have to win the level(s) you play in order to get credit for the Yellow tiles you remove. GOOD LUCK!
lewie2011 says
Thank you so very much for the tip WC, cuz i was trying to find a good level to play…gl to all!!
Lizz says
I guess if gems are about 5 cents each (on sale) This badge album will cost me about 3.60. If I consider what I do waste some money on, this is not too bad…….
playcody06 says
I am passing on this also ,qa not for me ,also I fine that the badges are harder and longer too
legit says
WELL, I will purchase it, as usual, lol ….. now that I have been reading a lot of comments about the difficulty of challenges ….don’t trust me on the dates, lol, might be off .. I think back to 2003 thru 2008 … those were some very difficult challenges, tho some where pretty easy, that fact is that during that time we didn’t have power-ups to help most of the games, i think we did have some in some games ….
then from 2009 through 2017, Pogo sort of slack off in the difficulty of challenges, provided us with plenty power-ups, gems to buy them and so forth …. then 2018 came along and the first part was ok, but then Pogo started making challenges again with higher difficulty levels ….
Anyways, what I am trying to say … we all started complaining about the easy/medium level of difficulty in the challenges from 2009 . 2017 … we would reminiscence about the hard difficulty of prior years’ challenges …. Now we are complaining about the hard difficulty of challenges … so … here we are …
all have a great weekend and enjoy, legit
MomsBassetHound says
You are absolutely correct. The weekly challenges the first few years took most of the week to complete. But back then there weren’t any other badges, other than rank badges to work on, so it didn’t seem as bad as it does now.
And when Pogo started putting out premium badges they started making the weekly badges easier. And the majority of the members liked the easier badges so they could play the games they liked the most.
But there have always been members who said that they were too easy. I wasn’t one of them the majority of the time, but I’ve seen the comments in the forums. And we’ve done it on BH also.
But that doesn’t have anything to do with what Pogo is trying to do now. For some reason they are trying to increase the number of players on the site. If it was on the free side I would say it was to increase the income from ads, but we don’t have ads on the Club Pogo side.
Every time we turn around we are getting free badges, free albums, marathons going almost non-stop. You almost have to plan every minute on Pogo so that you get everything done on time. I know that this week I had to make sure that I got done with all my weekly badges before starting the ME challenge. Once that is done then I can work on the new PBA and the ME challenge until the Halloween Marathon starts on Sunday. Once I get done with the Halloween Marathon I will go back to the ME challenge.
But Pogo is not listening to the majority now. Most are saying it’s too much, and too often. Hopefully they will start to listen before it’s too late.
Suz
WCurry5990 says
Thank you “legit” and “Suz” for providing a history of Club Pogo’s challenges. and their difficulty. I joined Pogo in “2002” via a AOL ad but I didn’t join Club Pogo because there were so many games I had never played or never heard of. From “2010” to “2011”, I took advantage of “3” Club Pogo temporary memberships that were offered by BadgeHungry. After my “3rd” temporary membership expired in May / June , 2011, Pogo had a great membership promotion in which I took advantage of. Mainly due to BadgeHungry, but also Pogo’s forum and friends, I have been taught how to play alot of games.
In closing, I again want to thank “legit” and “Suz” because now I’m hoping that in the future, Pogo will again start releasing challenges I think are fair. I also want to thank “Lura” and BadgeHungry’s great members for helping me earn the “10,159” badges I have completed as of this post.
Judi says
It seems to me that their plan is to make money on the people who choose to buy power-ups to complete the “free” challenges.Notice how many of the games they pick to give us offer them. And look at the outrageous cost of some of the power-ups.:
Cookie Connect – 5 moves, 5 gems, Star Gate Opener-10 gems etc.
Quinn’s Aquarium – 10 extra slots, 30 gems, 10 jokers, 32 gems, 10 magnets, 32 gems etc.
Jet Set- Jet Wash, 10 gems, VIP Ticket, 5 gems, X-ray, 5 gems, Upgrade, 6 gems etc.
MahJong Escape- 10 jokers, 32 gems, 10 magnets, 32 gems, 25 shuffles, 100 gems etc.
Phlinx 2- 10 Fireball Stones, 40 gems, 5 Balance Stones, 28 gems etc.
Solitaire Gardens- 10 wilds, 32 gems, 10 shuffles, 40 gems etc.
Jewel Academy- 60 seconds for 6 gems
Do the math. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out how much they can make if someone buys just a few power-ups for an album, especially one like the Solitaire Gardens or Quinn’s Aquarium. Or if they buy even a couple of power-ups for the “free” mix&match badge sor if someone buys just one mix&match badge for 50 gems instead of doing the “free” Autumn Quest one. I think Pogo is laughing all the way to the bank.
MomsBassetHound says
But in all honesty this PBA can be done without power ups. Every game, except QA, gives you the option of redoing an earlier level. And unless you are stuck in Part 3 of the Tropical Tank, even QA can be done without power ups. And there are plenty of members (not me) that have even completed that without power ups.
And the Autumn Quest does not contain any QA, so everyone can earn the 30 gem Christmas LE Badge for free, if they want to put in the work. There are a few time machine puzzles in ME that can be done without power ups, plenty of suggestions in that thread.
I’m not thrilled with a lot of the recent changes on Pogo, and probably won’t be thrilled with whatever’s coming up either. But the sale of gems has kept the annual membership fee the same for 9 years now. And that has allowed a lot of members to keep their account.
And Pogo has given everyone so much the last few years that even buying a few power ups won’t hurt that much.
Suz

I’m in the “you can give me all the Free you want” group. If it’s something I don’t like I don’t have to do it but free is free, bring ’em on. π
Yes, indeedy, some of those early challenges were long and hard. I don’t have any yearly albums completed but at times I’ll go back and look through for a personal weekly to do and when I get back in the early years I look at some of those challenges and think “i’m not doing that one”.

I HATE this album & refuse 2 do Quinn’s period….will NOT buy gl 2 those that like the album..God bless u & yours & happy Halloweenie 2 ev1…Loretta π

Hi “ALL”;
I just earned the “QA” Spooktacular PBA badge in “4” games using the strategy below. I know you all have your own way of completing “QA” challenges, but I hope the below helps –
1.__I did play “Random” puzzles only;
2.__I kept hitting the “quit” tab until I got a puzzle that had tiles that were only “2” columns deep; and
3.__Be advised that the puzzle will cover the whole board, but making matches is alot “easier”. Also in all “4” games, I was able to match all “6” Shell tiles.
GOOD LUCK Everyone
