Quinn’s Aquarium: New Tilesets

Quinn's Aquarium (thumbnail)Pogo has added five new tile sets to Quinn’s Aquarium today. In addition to the Classic tile set that launched with the game, you can now choose Aquarium, Jolly Bear Games, Accessible, Mahjong Garden Nature, or Mahjong Garden Animals.

Along with these tiles, Pogo has also increased the size of the tiles on the puzzle board and they’re easier to see overall.

Note: to change your tile set, you must be working on a puzzle to access the correct settings menu. To get to this menu, click the gear icon in the upper right hand corner of the puzzle screen. From there, choose “Tile Sets”.

Fun fact: while the Aquarium tile set is new, the other tile sets will look familiar because they’re all sets used in other games. However, the Jolly Bear tile set is the same one that was created for Mahjong Escape in 2015 but was never added to that game.

  4. Yayy for the accessible tiles!!I got used to the ones we were using but I do love variety and ones I can see- When I play the game next week(I’m trying very hard to wait, haha!) I may try the others as well just to see how I like them, but probably will stick with the accessible

  7. Should I have any hope on them making the gem tile set from mahjong garden available? Or is this likely it?

    • I also use the gem style tiles 😄
      I too would prefer those, but I wouldn’t hold your breath.

    • The gem tiles are the only ones that I play with. So I am still not going to bother with this game.

      • I had always used the gem tiles set for Mahjong Gardens and was so pleased to be able to use it on Mahjong Escape. Later on people here in BH recommended the accessible set. I looked at it — and saw some numbers had circles, some had squares, and they came in different colors. So I decided to stick with the gem set that I was familiar with.So, for the longest time I ignored it. When people still raved about it I gave it another try. Boy, talk about not seeing the forest for the trees! It is absolutely the simplest to use. The set is ALL NUMBERS, Yes the green numbers have squares — so they are readily identified by not only their number, but also the square, and a also their color. The red numbers have circles, the blue numbers have just great big visible numbers, and the seasons are orange with the big capital letters : AUT WIN SPR & SUM. The flowers have their name and a picture on them. I no longer had to identify the objects by the pet names I had assigned to them. such as: yellow ring (because when my daughter was little and dime stores existed, the toy rings I bough her always had that big square stone in them,l lol).

        Anyway, that “accessible” set was a tremendous help to me. I see many others here were also hoping it would be included with the tile additions. I just wanted to share what other shared with me, and suggest you give it a try..

  8. Oh, I’m so very glad that Pogo did this for us, now I won’t have nightmares about the weekly! :) I like the animals because I’ve used them before. :)

  10. TY TY Pogo!!! these changes on tiles and size make the game so enjoyable.. no more mistaking 5 for S or by accident hitting the wrong tile because they are too close!!

  12. I like the looks of the Aquarium tiles but I’ll probably still use the Pogo animal tiles, I use them on every other Mahjong game, I’ve been using them a long time, they are nice and bright and you can swap the animals out (at the other Mahjong games).

    Thanks, Pogo, this will be much more enjoyable now. :)

  13. I do believe our comment sessions are taking effect on Pogo.

    We have more Super Secret Badges, and We have new tiles in Quinn this week.

    They might already be seeing a drop in sales. It is going to take a little more effort for me but at least I am seeing some changes.

    Pogo you really don’t want to lose us old people do you?

  16. While I am pleased for new tile sets as my eyes age, the thing that bothers me about this game is that it lacks the ability to go back and play easy games to get a weekly challenge. I dread the challenge next week. I will try, but I have already decided that I will not purchase power ups and I won’t re-play 100 times. I don’t want frustration. I just want to have fun.

    I am one of those that has played Jet Set over 250 times trying for a 3 stars and finally gave up. I am stuck on lots of new HTML levels. This game just brought my anger to the forefront.

    Oh I am very intrigued by the downloads mentioned in an earlier post. I haven’t downloaded since that Big Fish Story London Adventure. That was a game I loved. It was so nice ’cause I could even play it when my cable went out! I actually wrote to the developers asking for more games just like that one. But all I have seen are more skull and crossbones type games which are a little too dark for me.

      I agree with you about Quinn’s. All the same nonsense that “got” to you also “got” to me. I have that free M&M that I stupidly opened, so I’ll play enough for that.

    • Amen to your statement on Jet Set! Pogo’s demand of 3 stars on all games in order to proceed is the most overt demand of power-ups yet. I will now play the game only for weeklies and albums.

      • Well you don’t have to have 3 stars on all to proceed on every location…I was able to progress on all new ones without each level having 3 stars =)

        • In the second new set I have gotten to Bali where I am told to get 3 stars on all 9 levels to proceed to next location.

          • That’s odd because I certainly didn’t get all 3 stars on all of them o_O

          • I did the 3 new levels and got the first badge for each. I didn’t get all 3 stars in any of them and was able to proceed.

      • You don’t need 3 stars on all games to advance. The only city I have 3 stars in all games is SF, the first city, and I’ve advanced to the end of the game except for the last new one, haven’t done that one yet.

        If I get only one star on a level I’ll go back when I’ve finished the city and try to get 2 stars, that’s just “my thing”, but I’m not doing levels 250 times to get 3 stars, I don’t do that in SG and I’m not doing it in Jet Set.

  18. Has anyone had problems with IE or Edge browser in trying to run Quinn’s? When trying to open it says browser or video card driver out of date, try another browser? It works fine on chrome and firefox but not in IE or edge? Other games work fine but seemingly only in Quinn;s/ I have windows 10 and drivers update automatically> Thanks for any advise.

    • Microsoft doesn’t fully support html5 in IE. Some people have problems with the html5 games working properly in IE, and others don’t.

      Personally I use Torch for the htlm5 and Flash games and Pale Moon/Firefox ESR for Java games.

    • I can’t play most HTML games on Chrome at all and have better luck on IE but at the same time Quinn’s and a few of the others lag so badly no matter which browser I use. I won’t put a 3rd one in my computer. Really shouldn’t have to do so or switch between browsers just to play games. Its silly. It does seem though for all its hit and miss on browsers no matter what we all do.

      While I am glad they did this with the tiles for those that needed it…as well as giving options for more appealing looking ones. I won’t touch the game until its time for the weekly. I will see then if its still giving me the bad lag or not.

  21. If Quinn’s aquarium is a challenge next week I only have 16 left
    I should of looked ahead for weekly challenges as you can not redo a level
    Ant ideas

    • You can keep playing because even if you have finished all levels you will get random levels after that and those will count =)

  23. So not sure if this was mentioned but there is a Sand Dollar limit. I ran up against this today. Not sure if it’s a daily or total (i’m at 2000). Rank still goes up however.

  24. i just have a comment on this game – you cannot go back and play levels you have already played – especially if you are trying to get a badge – this game gives me a headache because i can not afford the gems that pogo wants you to buy to play this game like 10 shuffles are 40 gems – thats like $5 almost – i want pogo to go back and let us play levels we have already played to get the badge – a lot of people on pogo are angry about this – all the other games including solitaire gardens and mahjong escape you can go back and replay games to get a badge so dont know why the change on this game – many friends are leaving pogo because it seems all that ea games is interested in is making money –

    • Pogo made a concession and once you get though all 3 Parts of the Tropical Tank you can always play the random puzzles. I think that’s the best we are going to get. Using gems I got on sale it cost me almost $12 to get thru Part 3, and I’m not happy about it, but it was my choice to finish the Marathon. But it still took me 4 days and my time is more valuable to me than what I spent once I caved in and used power ups.

      • I was thankful for at least that concession when I finally finished the first tank. I bought both Shuffles and Extras in order to finally finish out the last 5-10 puzzles in the Tropical tank, there were some doozies there. When I was done I didn’t have the 350 sand dollars needed to complete the tank but as I was still working on Lap #3 the sand dollar count went up really fast using the much easier random puzzles.

        The PBA was free and while buying the two power ups cost more than the PBA would have, I didn’t use them all so it was an OK trade off for me. I still have some left but now that I’m in random I think I’ll be able to do Laps 4 & 5 without using any power ups.
