Subscribers to the BadgeHungry Insider newsletter already know about this (well, as of exactly four hours ago, hah), and now Pogo has publicly announced in the news that they’re creating a mobile version of the Pogo web site for use on iOS and Android tablet devices.
What they appear to be developing will be a full interface to Pogo’s features and games. They’ve mentioned racking up badges, working on Site-Wide challenges, and activating daily and Wednesday challenges from the mobile interface. It’s likely that when using your device’s built-in browser — not something like Puffin that can play Pogo’s Flash games — the mobile interface will only allow you to access their HTML5 games (and maybe Flash games if you’re on a version of the Android OS that supports it).
The mobile site is currently in testing — Pogo sent out a survey recently to select players to find potential recruits for early access — and hopefully more details will surface. In the meantime, they have stated that Club Pogo members will get initial access within the next few months.
According to the testing site, “Pogo’s mobile web experience is where new games will roll out — games that work on smartphones, tablets and desktops alike. It’s a great complement to the existing Pogo site.”
