  3. Linda, who couldn’t be online at the time this post was made but wanted to make sure her tip got in as soon as possible, sent in this tip early:

    “When you play the Solitaire game, there is a teeny circle bottom left….tap it and it gives you constant hints. This helped me learn the game!”

  4. Never heard of Pyramid Solitaire either. Do you have to complete a game in either Pyramid Solitaire or Mahjong Safari to get credit?

  5. Nancy #6 – There are 2 weekly badges…..1 in Pyramid Solitaire & 1 in Mahjong Safari and both need to be completed to get credit.

  6. In addition to the 5 and Thick Spiral games on hard for MJS, I also like the Crossroads and Lightbulb puzzles for getting animal combos.

  7. Perfect Pair Solitaire is derived from Pyramid Solitaire.
    So if have played Perfect Pair you have a very good idea
    how to play Pyramid Solitaire.

  8. For Mahjong Safari – I like the Thick Spiral. I don’t watch the clock & make all the combos I can first. I also look for the ones that don’t have a combo (in this puzzle there are 11 animals with only 2 tiles). You can get 14 combos in one game. After I make all the combos and singles I can, I’ll either use the long line to clear out a single match (don’t use this to try for a combo) or I’ll use the shuffle to get new matches. Strange as it sounds, this is how I always play this puzzle – it’s a challenge for myself to see if I can get the 14 combos that are there.

  9. I agree with Moms.. and that was one of my favorite solitaire games! Should be easy!

  10. Pyramid solitaire–I remember when this group of games was introduced here. So many players posted “no rank badges–no play”. I am not surprised players have not heard of the game! But here we are having to play a game with no jackpot spins, ranks, or badges if we want the weekly badge. Light & Fun? I don’t think so. 🙁

  11. I didn’t know Pyramid Solitaire was on Pogo until I saw it here and I tried it out. It is an easy game and reminds me of Perfect Pair Solitaire. Only downfall is that it does not have ranks or badges so I will be only playing it for a badge. It’s in the Solitaire Category for those looking for it. I like the game but won’t be playing it regularly. I like my ranks and badges. Without them there is no motivation.

    I enjoy Mahong Safari. For those that don’t have the Mother’s Day Limited Edition badge done you can do it along with this one. You need 55 combos for that. I have it done as I didn’t know at the time we were having a badge in Mahong Safari so soon. I knew it was game of the month but wasn’t thinking at that time.

  12. Catherine #13 – For Mahjong Safari they are 2 totally different combos, the M&M is for speed combos, the weekly badge is for animal combos.

  13. On Mahjong Safari, I never noticed the clock before. And when I went in to test the game to look for it, it doesn’t come up until you make the first combo of two pairs, then it clicks in and counts upward in time. I don’t understand what the clock is telling me. It doesn’t show up when I just click on the single pairs to clear out space to get to the doubles.

    So…what is the clock telling me?

  15. kachina #15 – It tells you how long it has taken you to do the puzzle. There are badges that require you to complete a puzzle in 4 minutes or less, and at least one badge that required so many puzzles be completed in 2 minutes or less.

  18. snstlvr #19 – No, no ranks being added. But we had badges in Hearts for over 10 years and that never had ranks, or tokens.

  19. Suz & Catherine L #14 and #16 –
    Even though the two badges do have different criteria, Suz’s tip/hint about playing on hard and using the Thick Spiral or 5 puzzles works for both.
    I did the M&M for 55 5X combos using only both those puzzles and was done in a jiffy!
    And while playing for that, I did notice the number of animal combos available in both of those puzzles too. I tried to get fancy and do both….5x combos that also had animal combos in them, but that got exhausting…lol.

  20. Make 70 Animal Combos this week! (Match a pair of the same animal tiles then quickly match another pair) I have read what you guys say here, but if they want us to get ALL FOUR of the SAME animals why not say that. It says match another pair, not the same pair. Guess we will find out on Wednesday. JMO.

  21. Sharon #22 – That’s what an animal combo is, 2 pair of the same animal, one right after the other. They use this criteria for daily challenges all the time.

    Matching 2 different pair, one right after the other, is what gives you speed combos of 5X, 10X, etc.

    Pogo lacks a gift for wording, I’ll grant you that.
    However, they have used this exact wording through the years for this badge criteria –
    when they want us to match two pairs of the same animal consecutively
    (polar bear & polar bear then polar bear & polar bear again)
    They couldn’t say “match 4” because the game only allows a match of 2 at time.
    There are different ways they could phrase this that would (probably) be more clear, but they’ve stuck with this wording…..they must like it 🙂

  23. Sharon #22- From the “How to Play”…….

    During the puzzle game, if you make an animal-specific combo, you’ll earn an extra 30 tokens per animal combo. For instance, match two pandas, then quickly match two pandas again, and you’ll earn a Panda combo.

  24. When will they start the game of the month? Do you think that will be Wednesday when we have the badge to get?? The month is going away fast……only 22 days left.

  25. Lizz #26 – Pogo announced that the new ranks would be added on the 10th. That’s why some of us are waiting to complete the 2 new M&M Badges.
