    Each episode contains 5 scenes, and 2 puzzles at the end. There are 2 or 3 stars hidden in each of the 5 scenes, but never more than 1 hint star, and most times there are no hint stars. The hint star has a “?” on it. The other stars only give you bonus points. The star with the “+” on it gives you 1,000 points, the star with the “++” on it gives you 2,000 points, and the star with the “+++” on it gives you 3,000 points.

    The recharging hint star does NOT count for this badge. You have to find them in the scenes in order for them to count towards the badge. You get 1 free hint per scene, unless you have 1 saved. In that case you do not get a free one. If you see a hint star do NOT click on it until your free 1 lights up, or you lose the recharging one. You can only have a total of 5 hints saved up. Once you get to 5 you will NOT get anymore until you use what you have. The less you have the better your chance of finding one.

    When the M&M for finding 10 hint stars in BCA was released on Jan 15th I found out how difficult (long) this can be. I actually completed entire episodes and never got a hint star. The stars will normally be in the same place, so doing the same episode over and over can make it easier. It doesn’t make it any less time consuming, but at least you know where to look for the stars. The stars are harder to find in the newer episodes. In the beginning they were much easier to see, not hidden so completely like they are now.

    I find in Big City Adventure, that if I use up the last of my hints on the very last item in the scene – I ALWAYS get a hint star in the next scene.

    But BEWARE: Clicking on the question mark too early in the next scene (before the hint has properly reloaded in the bottom right corner) will only give you one hint instead of two.

  5. What was the first city offered for play? My DH says San Francisco and I saw New York. I want to play the first city over since it’s easier to find the hint stars. Thanks for the tips for both badges. Very helpful !!!

  11. Looking for extra badges to play & found M&M badge that looks for “L” words too. Yum Yum badge from Jan 2012. Needs 10 words with 6 letters though.

  13. For BCA I replayed San Francisco Episode 11 – this was the one I used for the PBA badge as well. I played 6 games and got the following in each…

    1 Hint Star
    3 Hint Stars
    3 Hint Stars
    No Hint Stars
    1 Hint Star
    3 Hint Star

    So yes, very random.

    For Tumble Bees there is Mix-n-Match badge from September 1st release which requires you to win 25 bonus games. I figured this weekly badge will be longer than usual, so I saved that particular badge to double it up.

  14. For hint stars: If you see the two or three starts in a scene, and none of them are hint stars, return to the main menu, reselect the case, and reload the scene. The stars will change.

  15. I would have got the BCA in 2 games had my game not frozen at 8/9 and lost all my progress!
    Anyway, I found that you can do a couple of things to make sure you get a hint star in every scene. Once the first scene loads look for a hint star (a star with a ?) if there isn’t one there click menu> main menu> yes> play now (on the one you were playing) then continue. It will re-load the scene and you can look again for the stars.
    I found that the hint star was usually there on the re-load, if so play the scene and use the hint star before the end of the scene. Use the hint before the end of every scene, this increases your chances of the hint star being there immediately in the next scene. If not, do the re-load again following the same steps until a hint star shows up. The most times I had to re-load a scene was 4 but the hint star usually showed up before that many re-loads.
    Note that if you start finding items then realise the hint star isn’t there and do a re-load it will reset the scene and you have to find all the items again.

    Play on hard level
    If you don’t see L on letter drop hit new game
    If you get get one or two words, instead of waiting hit new game
    Using a star for an L usually will not work

  19. I want to thank you all for the hints and words on tumblebees. While I find this game to be cute, I don’t enjoy it so much, and I just did two rather long album badges for it yesterday, without bothering to see if a badge was coming up first 😉 (I know, my fault, I should have checked haha)
    Anyway, I had to laugh at myself when I saw another lengthy badge for this particular game this morning. I appreciate the hints! Good luck everyone!

  21. back again lol.. im having a problem with Pogo and personal badges and was wondering if anyone else is having this same problem. for example it happened this morning and its happened a few times before, when i look i can set 2 personal badges but then i set one like today which was a tumble bees badge and i only have that one! help!!!

  23. I’ve completed all 5 challenges for the autumn breeze badge, but it’s not showing in my album. trust pogo!! I think I’ll wait it out to see if they rectify the error for everyone before trying to contact support. (I don’t fancy doing the BCA again!!!!!)

  25. In Tumblebees, I get to the bonus round and make short words and average 6 – 8 L words per round, plus whatever I got in the main game.

  26. BTW, With any of the HOGS and the embedded games generally, they always tend to show that you have made no progress whatsoever, but the badges are in your album. I wish Pogo could rectify that glitch. Another, c’est la vie!

  27. BCA: I kept hitting menu if i did not see a ? in the first puzzle; once i saw a ? , i finished the puzzle, moved onto 2nd part; & did the same; kept hitting menu, then replayed that 2nd part, this i saw another ?…so far 6/9 & in only 15 minutes; I’m redoing London, parts 1 and 2. GL all.

  29. I got my badge in 15 minutes by rehitting menu & resetting the puzzle in the LONDON series…the first 2 episodes…plus I used ONE hint button so I did no accumulate 5 stars as I found by resetting the puzzle a ? would NOT show up.

  30. i loved the big city challenge was very easy,i used london piccidily circus as it the eaiest to do.tumble bees be easy too u can find alot when in bonus section and remember u can use 3 letter words so it will go fast

  33. Ok, this is my last post on this! (I promise 😉

    I contacted support, who told me at first that I had to re-do the BCA badge, even though that weekly is already in my album. Anyway, I asked him firmly to go look in my account to check that I wasn’t joshing about the number of badges I had done (5), so he did, and when he saw I wasn’t lying, he placed the Autumn Dragon in my albums for me. PHEW!!

    Hope no one else has the trouble I had with it. Good luck to all 🙂 (And a big thanks to SUZ 🙂 What would we do without you, girl? 🙂

  35. Bea #36 – No, it’s better to use them when you find them b/c you can only keep a maximum of 5 hints. The free hint does not count towards the badge, only the ones you find.

  36. I do not know if this will help but in Big City Adventure played in Sydney the free play I choose it since I know a couple of Pogo Players from there and decided why not. I played it and got my badge first time. I found some of the scenes have more than one star.

  38. Anna #35 – Are you sure they have added the correct badge? You said the Autumn Dragon Badge, the above is the Autumn Breeze Badge. The Autumn Dragon Badge was a Super Badge which was released in September 2008.

  40. I got both, plus two personals in TumbleBees. I hope the iOS badge will get me the SE badge, but if not, I’ll think of something….

  41. i might be showing my dumbness here but in Tumble Bees what do you all mean by “STAR” tiles? I tried using the “stars” as an “L” and it always makes another word never starting with an “L” for me at least, so I am lost here. Or is it just the chance you take? Can anyone fill me in? Thanks!

  43. When doing Tumble Bees, I play on hard. I look for the L words and only them. I do not wait for them to drop. I hit new game and click till I see L’s.

  44. if you do not see yourself getting in game progress for big city and it isn’t appearing on the pogo home page, check the badge page. my progress was not showing and i checked the badge page to see next week’s challenges. big city was done!!!

  45. I did as Bobby (# 29 & 31) suggested and kept hitting menu to reset the episode till it showed a question mark (?). It’s much like Word Search Search daily & the gift words (hitting new game till a gift word appears). U must finish out the episode to get credit for the ??, More importantly, I used 2 ?’s when I had 5 stored as 5 is the maximum; Got my BCA badge in 10 minutes; I didn’t care what my score was.

  46. hi all, i got my BCA badges.. i played London… usually the first scene and then hit menu.
    go the next day and see if i can fnd the hint stars… be sure to use the hint stars and wait for the hint stars to completely charged so you can find the next scene…. i usually found the hint stars in the first or second scene.. gl i just took time… i know it just random too…

    I also now have a bad headache.
    Have been playing London. Is there particular ones episodes that might speed this along?

  49. Bev #50 – Are you using them? You can only have a maximum of 5 hints and then you won’t get any until you start using them.

  50. took me 12 games to complete tumble bees. I didn’t hit new game after getting just 1. most the L’s are in the bonus round. if you just make the 4 lettered words you can stay in the game longer. took me an hour to get badge. I was getting between 7 -12 words per game. on easy of course. took me 1 and a half episodes to get the ? badge in bca.

    It was a Tumble Bee’s 2003 that I did along with todays !!!

  55. I wish I’d read this before I played Big City…it took me forever because I had had already 5 saved up, so figuring it out, I started using them because each game I played rarely gave me a hint star. I was shocked and tired it took me as long as it did…,I was faster at
    Tumblebees than this one which I thought would take 30 min at most.

  56. I discovered that you can do the free trial episodes. Just keeping looking at the first stop in the city.If there’s a hint star grab it. I finished the puzzles, but I don’t know if you need to.

  60. My BCA badge did not show and even in my Badge Collection Page it still showed as being “in progress” Also didn’t show that I had received my Autumn Breeze badge witch the BCA should have completed it.
    Now for the rest of the story! I was discouraged to contact Pogo support but thought I would give it a try. I actually got through to a representative in less than 5 minutes on “Live Chat” The agent was very pleasant and helpful and corrected my problem.
    I must say that I have very little to complain about with Pogo. Most of my experiences have been quite positive.

    Anna #4 and ~shelly~ #16. I reloaded the scene if there were no hint stars showing, but found if I used my last hint on the last item in a scene that I usually got a hint star in the next scene.

  63. Why does it have to be San Francisco for the badge? I’ve been trying to do this and am getting nowhere. I haven’t purchased any episodes; only using the free ones. Not much luck getting the stars though… I get some but none of them seem to be the ones the badge wants… I think this is confusing and might not be worth the time it takes to get it.. sorry… just a bit frustrated…
