O’h what a lovely surprise to see my mini in top spot – thank you so much for your votes – but my goodness there were so many great entries yesterday.
My eldest son told me a wonderful story about how Canada got its name – and the entries yesterday brought it all flooding back. The story goes that when they came to decide what to call that great land, they decided to pull letters out of a bag, so the person given the task of picking put his hand in the bag and came up with a letter and said
C “E’h”
N “E’h”
D “E’h”
and thats how Canada got its name!

Eggfarmer That’s not the version we were taught re name of country.
The one we were taught is the explorers were communicating with the Indian Chief and he asked them to come to the lodge which was called a canada and the intrerpreter told the explorers that the name of the country/place was CANADA.
