Once again it is very obvious that the people at Pogo NEVER play the games. getting 30 jackpot spins in Aces up means you have to get a squadron of 8 planes 30 times. In every game you win you will get ONE plane, and if you are very, very lucky 2 or 3. But that means you have to have some 240 planes to get 30 JP spins. Once again Pogo will end up with a number of complaints.
They need someone NOT working for Pogo to test what they consider acceptable for their challenges, why not use the Beta Testers to do this. Look at the backlash they got before with the very hard Quick Quack challenge.
Sometimes I think Pogo really does not care about its customers.

Aces Up is going to take more than several hours unless you’re very lucky. I played for 1 hour and am at 4/30. It is what it is…very long and boring.
Sjaan13 says
I love aces but this badge is not going to be easy if you have to get 240 planes you get one with each win go slow use the undo button a lot *+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+ with pogo lucky dust sprinkled on everyone. one plane per win is going to take time.
Dragon I am going to cover you with *+*+*+*+*+*+ pogo lucky dust so you will get this badge.
It is cold where I live no plans of going outside so I just stay here by my computer
Zerp says
Yes Aces Up will take awhile. I tought his weeks challenges was Aces up and Poppit??
SusieNY says
Dragon, I have to agree with you. It took me at least 45 minutes to get 6 spins and to think I need 5 times more than that makes me shudder. I need most of the extra planes just to win the hand. Oh well, will complaining even help?
butterfliesRfree says
I know Pogo can’t please everyone, but I dont’ think the Aces Up badge is impossible – maybe just more challenging. I like badges that take more than a few minutes to win, but I’m sure there will be tons of complaints. The only suggestion I have for Aces Up is to use the undo button.
Have a great badge day!
beth says
well i will start out with aces isnt my favorite game but i can play it now that said i played for about an hour give or take a lil and i have 10/30, but if adding m&m badges with it and even a pba or 2 along the way will help pass the time and be making accomplishments along the way may help the time pass, but my best guess is it will take around 3 hours mabe less if your very luck and maybe more so if ya see you not having good luck play something else and come back to it a lil late may help also to help change the luck…at any rate GOOD LUCK TO ALL <3 BIG HUGS boop

I just hope everyone is honest in filling out the survey–I don’t want to see any “under 1 hour” or “1-2 Hours” on aces Up Challenge !! I want pogo to see what they were asking us to do !! LOL
dragon7380 says
I truly have to ask this question. Have you noticed that more and more solitaire and card games are making it to the weekly challenges? Have you noticed that if you play these games during the week before they are challenges the games a much, much easier to win. So it is my thought that Pogo changes the difficulty rates on these games once they become a weekly challenge.
What is wrong with so many of the other games available? We have had solitaire games so often it isn’t funny. There are so many other games on Pogo that they could pick for challenges.Maybe the other games can not be altered to make them harder to win like the solitaire games can be altered.
Ang says
For Word Whomp, I used the website: win every game .com (w/o the spaces lol) and had the game on level 3; got the badge in 7 games.
I know the Aces Up badge will be time consuming, but if you use my method for WW, you’ll at least have that out of the way 🙂
Good luck all!

hi all. i agree that aces up badge will take sometime . i try to leave an empy colomn and keep clicking the cards so i get my aces to the top not too early as someone suggested.. alos i wait and use my planes to shoot down cards toward the end of the game. it a fun solitare game.
word whomp to speed it along.. when you get the spin (or carrot) hit new game….unless you are going for rank…
have a great day
Paris says
I been playing for 2 hours and I haven’t even had one spin yet. Aces isn’t an easy game to win. I’ve done the UNdo botton so many times.
I wonder how Pogo base these challenges. I agree, I strongly doubt Pogo play these challenges. Not everyone is fortunate to be retired or is a stay at home Mom to put endless hours into challenges. My only day off is Wedenesday and Sunday is family time. My husband gets upset if I play Pogo on a weekend.
If People complain , Pogo will give the standard responce. We don’t HAVE to play the challenges.
Pogo said a few times in the news letter they don’t base challenges on their surveys. Then why do they ask?
Good luck everyone….. My the “luck” fairy be with you all
Mrs. Mike Brown says
Pat #8 I totally agree with you. But as always there will be many ‘under an hour’ which I think is impossible. I’m one of the lucky ones who can play Aces Up all day and never tire of it but I know there are many who don’t like it. Pogo needs to stop being so demanding on some of their badges.
Happy Badge Day ALL!
Shawna says
Well, this will give us a great chance to do some ranking up in Aces Up!
sayheykid says
Card games aren’t the only challenges ramped up to make them more difficult. Slots games are insanely ‘tightened’ up for challenges. You can get anything you want if it’s just playing for pleasure or rank. But when they’re badges, the majority of spins are 0’s.
Lura says
Pogo absolutely does not change games for challenges.
Sjaan13 says
I was given a hint by a friend aces has an undo button so you can look at all the cards first then have an idea where they are then use the undo button all the way to the beginning to start hope this helps
sayheykid says
Sure they don’t. Got some prime swamp land to sell ya.
luvshoes says
I agree with everyone who thinks that the Aces Up challenge is an unreasonable badge. I can play the game and currently have 15/30 jackpot spins. But I needed a break because it is SO boring and does take a long time to get as far as I have. I know some players like a challenge that takes longer than a few minutes. I have no problem with a challenge being a challenge. BUT, for a challenge to take hours and hours IS unreasonable. Pogo does this to us quite often. Quick Quack, Tri Peaks etc. I often wonder if those setting the challenges ever play the games themselves. Probably not.
I realize that many people will respond to this comment by saying, “You have all week….”. Wrong! Many of us do not have that much spare time on our hands. We have lives that involve spouses, children and jobs. Our Pogo time is limited. Pogo should remember that when they set a challenge. A fair and reasonable challenge is fine. A marathon challenge that bores us death is unfair.
And what “loner” at Pogo decided that Solitaire is so popular it should be used for so many challenges?. Solitaire in itself is such a boring game, created for anti-social types. It doesn’t matter what type of solitaire it is..one is worse than the next.
I don’t know who’s running Pogo, but I’m starting to question their social skills and their sanity.
Good Luck getting your badges!

yesterday i went in ahead of time and got most of my squadron done so that the first spin went easier. i had much more sucess yesterday with winning and keeping my planes than i have had today. its going to be a long badge, but i actually dont mind the game so will pluck away at it. word whomp went fairly quickly so that helps to balance things a bit.
i tend to agree with the others that notice the games to be a bit more difficult during badge week. tripeaks solitaire is one that stands out in my mind with the wild cards. i never opened so many chests that had only 5 tokens in them than when i needed wild cards. lol. oh well.. thats off topic anyway. gl all with your aces up badge. my only tip is already been said.. undo undo undo.

hate aces up but only took me 5 hours to do so not impossible , won’t venture there till next badge HAA HAA. and as it states weekly so if you get annoyed with it walk away for a day
Pat says
Okay, some who say they are fast, competent players are now racing for the finals, quoting 3 hours, 15 minutes. That is just in my room. I figure triple that, and I will have an approximate of my time. LOL
Mike says
Yeah, Aces Up is a long challenge, but not a big deal to me. It’s not a bad game to play, and you get some nice rank up on it.
LindaKaye49 says
I totally agree with everyone, Aces Up is very time consuming. Food for thought: Remember a while back when Pogo’s challenges could all be done in under a hour or so. Everyone was complaining then. Now Pogo has the badges much harder as I have noticed. I do believe Pogo needs to hit a happy middle on these badges. Good luck to all……
LindaKaye49 says
Sorry to post twice, but thought this is very important for everyone to read. Pogo has a lot of diabled members, alot of which I am friends with as I am also disabled. My heart goes out to the disabled when it comes to the challenges being so hard. I just wish and pray Pogo wakes up to the fact that not all people are alike. Thanks again for listening to me.
Candi says
I like Aces up and even tho I am ranked out, I will still enjoy “the challenge”. I agree with Lura, I don’t think they make the game harder during challenge week. Pogo has a hard enough time keeping things running smoothly, I doubt they would have time to change the game. Just do 6 a day or 5 a day.
Have fun all!

WW : Use any word scrambler web to help you out
Aces : Okay this is challenging…No strategy because it depends on your strategy where’s the best place to put the aces removing cards, shooting, blah blah blah and so on. But still i manage it. I don’t get. Sometimes you ppl argue and comment this week is easy, but when it goes to a lil bit challenging u all argue this is impossible or something like that…Seriously this week is so so. WW is easy (by using the word scrambler web), Aces on the other hand is challenging…Anyway no offense, GL to all of you for getting the badge 😀
starrynight says
I don’t mind Aces Up, but I agree that 30 spins is too much, 10 should have been enough, especially when so many people have trouble playing it. Best of luck to everyone!
P.S. I thought Poppit was supposed to be the other weekly challenge, too?? Guess they changed their mind??
Mrs. Mike Brown says
#19 luvshoes : I can understand that some people don’t like solitaire but it was not invented for ‘anti-social types’. I have a such a super hectic and full social life that I LOVE solitaire so I can be alone and unwind. If you don’t feel like being alone you can go into a full room and just make a comment about the badge, you will get plenty of talkers then. LOL
Kat8mouse says
You have 5 days to complete the badge so for the Aces Up one you could stretch that one out. I will probably try to get 10 JPS each day and knock it out by Friday. No biggie.
Happy badge day all.

Thank you for a bit of sanity. There is absolutely no point in Pogio”toughening up” games just when challenges come along. I have never believed it. It’s all a matter of perception. Because we have a target or a time constraint we feel that we’re a bit under pressure, so things seem harder, and we probably don’t play as relaxedly as normal, and therefore play less well. This week I have only today available for challenges (I normally have every day) so I’m going to have to knuckle down and get my last 9 Aces Up spins. BTW Word Whomp is my favourite game. That took 6 games.
soup54nz says
I have found that if I am having a hard time winning in any card game, that if I leave for awhile & come back, that its usually easier to win. But then, I’ve ranked out in all of the solitaire type games.

I figured I would come here and use up one of my complaints for the year, and low and behold I am not the only one! I apologize in advance, but I do need to let off a little steam at Pogo here:
I am in the agonizing process of looking for a permanent job, realistically, I have a lot of extra time on my hands and more than enough worry about life and stress to work through by playing Pogo. However, unless somehow they add more hours to the day, there is no way I will finish the Aces badge! I already am frustrated that I was not able to complete the Freecell badge, so does this mean this will be my first year (well, since becoming a club member) that I will not complete my album? Sure, I can pick up the ones I miss as personals later, but I do not know about you guys, but with how laggy bowling was last week I didn’t even do any personals – and it was a marathon! I am not saying that we should go back to the challenges that only take 15 mins, but on the other hand I believe it is better customer service to err on the side of making the challenges too short (and we all can work on M&Ms or a new PBA) than too long where we do not bother. I mean, it even makes better financial sense for Pogo – to get us to buy more stuff to do. Of course, blah blah blah, it is our choice to do badges, but isn’t it pretty much badges the only thing really left to be club exclusive?
Ok, thanks, rant over. Take care guys, hope to see you in the rooms!
MomsBassetHound says
There’s only 885 votes in the weekly poll, but 21% have said that they aren’t even trying to do the Aces Up badge.
But there are 9% that are saying that they got the badge in under an hour. I don’t even think that someone running an auto could get it that fast…LOL
I really think that people just enter their answers before they start to see how long the badge is taking people. That would be fine if they put some thought into it first.
I’ve done the Word Whomp on both accounts and now I’m working on the personal badges. I’m going to wait until later tonight to start the Aces Up. I figure I can play it before I go to bed and use it as a sedative 🙂
Good Luck Everyone!!

im not a fan of aces up,but it is relatively easy.already got 14/30,will most likely finish it off later, playing 3,4,5 games here and there.its tedious,to say the least lol. word whomp was too easy,so most likely pogo balanced it out with aces up.and FYI,the poppit was scheduled orginally for next week.another nightmare with flash lol.
gl to all!!!! :):)

i agree with everything being said about this challenges this week. i do think aces up is a bit unreasonable although doable. what i have noticed is that since the start of this year it seems like there is one marathon badge like aces up this week and one that can be done much faster, like word whomp especially with a word scrambler 😉 i am wondering if this is pogo’s way to try to appease the masses? it also seems like they are trying to bunch up badges into new games and old games for challenges. again, trying to appeal to more of us but backfiring because it seems like they are going down a checklist instead of thinking through the challenges in terms of variety and difficulty levels?
eagles227_98 says
i got both done. aces up took the longest, maybe 4 hours.
A tip that I found on Aces Up that helped me:–when game starts, take and put all 12 draws on the board so you can see where the big cards are, then hit the undo button till all cards are back in pile and start the game. This really helped me ALOT!!! GL to all. It is a very hard challenge. And I agree totally, 30 jp spins is way too many. Love & Ptayers to all.

Kat F. says
Hello everyone,
THIRTY JACKPOT SPINS IN ACES UP?? YIKES and OH DREAD 🙁 But is that gonna be as bad as 12 in Trivial Pursuit in a coupla weeks? Not sure!! Hoping/praying it’s a typo, rofl
But I’ll tell ya all something, I too used to think that Pogo “tweaked” the games during Badge Week…would have sworn on it. Have since kinda revised my thoughts on that. Mainly because I’ve noticed the more people playing a game the HARDER it is to get a good hand or jp spin or even to win a game. I see this happen MOST when the game is a weekly Badge Game.
Here’s a little list of the things I’ve noticed lately that’s caused me to change my mind. NOW I notice these “events” or have developed these “habits” during Badge Week:
1. More people in the rooms, of course.
2. More Rooms open, naturally.
3. Less “good” deals w/games like Solitaire.
4. JP spins are usually “pathetic”, not worth the energy to click OK to continue the game, LOL
5. If I leave and go to a smaller loaded room, usually do better.
6. Wait until there is not as many people playing the Badge Game I want to play.
7. MUST switch rooms more frequently to keep any sort of win going
8. Log out and clean files, etc. ALOT during Badge Week!!!
9. I’m much more sentitive to the time of day and the amount of people actually playing on the site or in a room than I EVER was during Badge Week, particularly the game I want to work the badge for.
These have helped me while trying for any Weekly Badge and like I said, have caused a “little” mindset change too. Doesn’t it make sense that if 100,000 more people than usual, are ALL trying to play the SAME game, the results are gonna be different than if only 25,000 that usually play, are going at it? lol (Numbers are just as an example)
I truly do understand everyone’s frustration!! Do NOT mean to discount what you’re feeling at all!! Please know that. 🙂 It’s just that when I started to notice some of the things I did, well, my mindset kinda changed a little too. Not always and not all the time, mind you.
I STILL feel the frustration too, but sometimes it helps me to look at it all a little differently, gives me a little more hope that I’m gonna get thru the game and win that badge!! Ya know?
So in the end, guess I’m hoping this might help some of you . 🙂
Take care, be safe. Go win that Badge!! <3

I know I’m going to be in the minority, but I enjoyed the Aces Up badge. I think it was really nice to see a game that I would have to use my mind a bit and wasn’t going to take 5 minutes to do. I finished it in 5 hours (on and off all day) and I really enjoyed it. That being said, I’m also pretty good at the game, and managed to finish most hands with 2-3 aces, a few times getting 5.
My suggestion for play it is to move the aces to the foundation as soon as possible and hold the aces you collect on the side until the last cards are drawn – they you can see what Aces you can move, what cards you can blast away. Of course, this game has an unlimited undo button, and it can be you best friend.
Best of luck to everyone! ^_^

Ahhhh karma. I know I asked for challenges that take more than 3 minutes but seriously this was ridiculous overcompensation lol. This aces up is going to take hours upon hours. Whole ranks take less spins than that! Best pull up a space heater and some oreos.
Hels says
Oh, come on, this is a long challenge, but unlike that infamous Tri-Peaks one, it is a question of skill, not random dumb luck, and therefore I believe it is fair. There have been a number of complaints in the last year or so (including from yours truly) about challenges being far too easy. Most of the weeklies from the last six months took less than two hours. There are five days given to complete challenges, so if every weekly challenge was as easy as a daily one – what’s the point?
I have two jobs and I go to school in addition to that, plus do all the work around my apartment, so I am not exactly sitting on Pogo all day long, but I still believe most people can find an hour a day to play – and if they can’t, they usually aren’t playing anyway, especially not as paid members.
Not to mention Word Whomp challenge is super-quick and easy, took me less than 15 minutes (and if you aren’t good at that game, www. wineverygame .com will help you win in in less than 20 minutes for sure). So it is essentially one challenge to do this week. Difficult? Yes. Doable? Definitely.
Hels says
Oh, forgot to say I am working on 2003 album for my personals now. Compared to the “get to the speed round in Pop Fu 150 times” (which means at least 750 individual rounds) 30 jackpot spins on Aces Up (which will require about 120 games) doesn’t look so bad. 🙂
ECAmerman says
I’m finding that I’m saving time with the Aces Up badge by just bailing out of games that seem hopeless early. I could use the undo button a thousand times to try to get that one plane, but it’s quicker to just click new game and hope for a better deal the next time. This way I’m getting 2-3 planes per game (plus the extra one) and not wasting time on games that I will either lose or get only the extra plane. Now the trick has been figuring out which games are hopeless. The criteria I use are: if there are several stacks of cards with no free plane (i.e., none of the aces are “up”), if the kings are all buried under their own aces, and if you are nearing the end of the game and you can clearly see that you will have to use all of your planes to shoot the remaining cards.
This is definitely a long one. Good luck to everyone!
P.S. Thank you to everyone who welcomed me to Badge Hungry on the weekend open thread!

Hi all
Whilst I agree aces is a toughie I do have the whole week to do it in. 5 spins a day is all I can manage without getting a headache!!
Jan#36 made a good point one easy challenge and one more difficult or more time consuming challenge seems to be the way its going. The trouble being by trying to please everybody Pogo might end up pleasing no-one.
I have also read comment concerning people with disability having trouble with certain games and I would think that Pogo customer services would be happy to award a badge to anyone who is unable to complete the challenge.
In Pogoland we are all individuals with different abilities, time constraints and commitments. What for one is an enjoyable challenge for others its a tedious hell. I do think its important that we remain open to other peoples opinions rather than just try to enforce out own.
Have fun all.

Hi everyone!
Long time lurker, first time poster, but I wanted to say that I have to agree with Hels in the observation that the Aces Up challenge is based on skill, not random dumb luck, and will go much faster for those who are particularly good at the game.
When Aces Up first debuted on Pogo, I absolutely hated it. No matter how many times I looked at the “how-to-play”, it simply wasn’t sinking in. I whined my way through the first few weeklies and then all of a sudden, out of nowhere, one day it just clicked! Of course, it became my favorite game for a while once I finally understood it and had a strategy!
I played for fifteen minutes last night and got 5/30, granted I only needed three planes to finish the first one. I averaged 3-5 planes per game, most games I got four, and I didn’t hesitate to hit ‘new game’ only three or four draws into a game if it already looked bad. I figure this badge should take me about an hour and a half to complete in it’s entirety.
You have a great site here, Lura! I’ve enjoyed reading along for about two years now. Thanks for all your hard work!

I am sure you all know this tip in Aces Up, but I will share it anyway.
You can’t shoot down an Ace, but you can move each Ace up to once per game to any column. You lose the plane for that Ace, but you may need to do this to clear the board. At least if you clear the board, you get the one ace for winning the game.
pastorpapabear says
Oh, sorry, one exception to that tip. You can only move the Aces if they are not in the “Aces Up” position.

this game is definately not for people that have jobs, cause the whole time your home you have to work on this stupid badge and can’t do or play anything else! I do enjoy other games this is way off the charts.

I don’t particularly care for it being a challenge. Life itself with the economy, crime, and hate going on is challenge enough. I believe most people including myself just play for the badges. Why not call it weekly badges and be done with it? It only irritates people when some little nerd puts something out there that takes multiple hours of play for a blob of ink made to look similar to a face.
Cogerly says
I am usually somewhat disgusted with members that constantly complain about Pogo. I look forward to the weekly challenges and have for several years. I hope the person(s) at Pogo that decide on the weekly challenges will reconsider making them so time consuming. Pogo has previously responded to complaints about the degree of difficulty or the length of time required by saying some are easy and some are not and that nobody is forced to do them. Although true, it seems that a paying customer is just that and all of us should be able to complete the challenges and win the worthless little badges we all strive to get without spending endless hours getting one badge. Many of us do not have the opportunity to spend several hours a day on Pogo. I wish Pogo would consider all of its members and make challenges where all members can earn the badges on easy skill level and those that want to play on a higher skill level can, where the challenge isn’t pure chance (e.g. Keno Pop shared bonus) and not make some challenges so easy that they are completed in a few minutes and others so time consuming that players dislike the game by the time they get it done. The Quick Quack (often referred to as Duckies) challenge has stayed in the minds of members for a very long time but I think the Aces Up challenge this week has now replaced “Duckies” as the most negatively memorable to date. I wish Pogo would listen to its members (a.k.a. paying customers), take their comments seriously and adjust their thinking just a little.
Cyrabi says
Gah, the Aces Up challenge took longer than I thought but I was able to get it done. 🙂 I actually got two badges in Aces Up, the weekly and the Rank 5 badge. Good Luck to all who are still working on the weeklies.
