This is another case of Pogo not using the clearest descriptions for challenges. What we’ve been told is that you must “complete 21 random puzzles”.

Get 10 or more bonus points in a ‘Payday Scratch’ Bonus Card 20 times this week!

It appears the personal challenge is still lagging behind — expect it to be available at 10am EST/7am PST.

If you’d like to meet up to earn these badges, play in Temporary Members Room 50030 or in a room that starts with B or H! Wear a badge that looks like a “B” to identify yourself and don’t forget to say hi!

  2. January 12th puzzle had a “bonus word” for me, but it was not counted toward the goal. No clue how to do this badge.

  3. Good morning all. Just tried the Word Search Daily badge, and got no credit for the bonus word puzzle. I wish Pogo would be more specific and correct about what to do with some of these challenges.

  4. the word badge is complete 21 random puzzles..thats it.no words have to have missing letters,no need to hide the word list.just 21 “random puzzles”. dont use any dated ones

  5. RANDOM PUZZLES are the ones that count ONLY. Just played 3 and they were all counted towards the badge.

  6. The requirements for the Word Search badge are, at least of the time I’m writing this post, “Win 21 random puzzles.” They do not have to contain a bonus word, you just have to play a random puzzle. I have played 2, only one had a bonus word, and I have gotten credit for all 3. I played a daily puzzle with a bonus word and got no credit.

    This is a new low in clarity for Pogo. =

  10. Jessie #8 the list does not have to be hidden for the puzzle to count. I just did 21 random puzzles and got the badge.

    dontcha love when pogo is so clear in their explanation of things.they might as well have had the instructions in swahili lol

  13. #12 Jessie…I posted that on Facebook (I found out the hard way) but as usual FB has an issue with my posts disappearing. It goes real quick on easy. Already got mine. Good luck to all with badges today!

  15. For Word Search Badge, play on RANDOM Puzzles, there does not have to be a missing letter to receive credit. I play RANDOM and got credit for each one, had the badge in no time at all.

  16. For word search daily, I played on easy and the badge took like 15 minutes.

    For free cell, I kept hitting new game until I had 2 (or more) aces at the bottom of the piles. After that it gets a little harder to explain how to play. I always go through each stack to make sure that a sequence does not play on another pile. Like if I had J of diamonds, 10 spades in one pile … I always check to see if the J of diamonds plays on one of the black queens. I hope that made sense.

    Then just carefully look to see what moves you can open up by moving cards up to the free cells. It took me 6 games to get that badge.

    Oh and FreeCell didn’t mess up at all like it was doing the last few weeks… It appears that pogo fixed whatever the problem was with that game. Also if you right click on a card (or hover the mouse over the card and hit spacebar) you can now see what suit the buried card is. Very helpful.

  17. Thank goodness for Badge Hungry or I would have been clueless on how to obtain this badge! Played Random Puzzles only and got it in no time.

  18. Well, I have to admit I was not looking forward to the Free Cell badge today. I don’t know if I’ll last through it all LOL But I just won my Very First game in 101 moves, and got 2 scratchers towards the badge. There’s hope after all LOL! It’s going to be a long one for me.   19. i was just in doing my puzzle badge. pogo please put in chat you have to do the random for this badge. thank you. when players come in and ask what do they do they get called stupid for asking. i think it’s wrong for the name calling after all it’s pogo’s fault they should have said play random puzzles. these people who think their better and can call names and make fun of others ,well i hate to tell ya this your very disrespectall and have no manners. this is something your parents should have taught ya .you also can close your chat out or just plain ignore it. simple as that!

  20. Payday Freecell IS messing up with this badge. You can’t get more than 2 cards of 10 or more tokens for each game. I got 4 cards of 10 tokens or more, and it only gives me 2 cards each game. What a joke this week’s badges are!

  21. Did they do away with the extra weekly challenge badges? As I tried to choose an old weekly challenge and it wouldn’t let me? 🙁

  22. Word Search Daily was not crediting me consistently in-game (credited about every 3rd game), but once I closed it and refreshed my main Pogo screen, all the random games played were credited on the home page. Just in case anyone had a similar problem.

    The obsolete, foreign, and obscure words in the “random-random” puzzles are a pain. Who culled all the common words out of the OED for that one and left all the weird and useless words? Good thing the themed puzzles count.

  23. Happy badge day! Man, pogo needs to explain things better. I would say half the people in the room I was in were confused. You automatically get the daily and must win that game before you get the “random” choice.

    Now on to one of my worst games – it’s a real challange for me but I will win!!! HGD <3

    I agree. Freecell IS messing up BAD this week. I just played a game and all four of my scratcher cards were over 10 points and I only got credit for 1 of them. Plus, the game IS still slow, cards don’t move as easily as they did with Java and general game performance is still horrible, IMO.

    I can tolerate the poor performance of the game if Pogo would count badge progression correctly so I don’t have to play this horrid Flash game longer than necessary.

    Word Search Daily goes pretty fast and smoothly as long as you don’t forget to hit the random puzzles.

  26. I just played Pay Day, completed the game with all 4 bonus cards over 10 and only got credit for 2. I’m going to wait till later to play and see if POGO fixes this.

  28. Its interesting looking at the stats that after 3 random puzzles. Only 1 of them “technically” was a bonus puzzle. But they all counted towards the badge lol.

  29. I’m with mspatmac on playing FreeCell. I’m the world’s worst scracher, seems I always get the 5’s in there. But I will just keep on going until I get my badge. Takes me about 4 games to win one so will be a long day. Word Seach should go fairly fast. TY all for info on that.

  30. Considering all the past “issues” with freecell you would think pogo would leave it off their challenges until it’s fixed. Pogo has SO many games why do we always seem to be rotating through the same ol’ same ol’ set of games for the weeklies?

    Laziness on their part maybe?

    Thanks for explaining WS because pogo sure didn’t. I used to love freecell but can’t stand playing it now since the ‘change’. So I proceeded to write a nice (wasnt so nice) little letter to pogo telling them how much we all dislike the change. I told them nothing was wrong with it so why did they need to make the changes. We’ll see where that goes. Anyway the badges are easy this week. Wahooo!

  32. well i just done the payday freecell on my friends account and got credit for all of the 10 or over 10 scratchers i got mostly got 4 per game but did get the dreaded 5 few games but it ran smoothly and i got credit, so maybe they have it working now GL to ALL boop…. ooops that was 11 am my time now almost 12 so got it in less than an hour as i took 10 or 15 min break came back and read these post and posted…so all in all wasnt too bad

  33. pogo need a google translater. or, something to make what they are trying to communicate clear for the rest of us so that we understand what we are trying to do 🙂 from badge art to badge requirements, they just have issues. here i was saving up my word searches to have 21 for this badge and it turns out to be 21 random puzzles!
    on another unclear badge requirement, i sent pogo customer service an e-mail about the world class solitaire level 50 badge which is still missing and i have yet to have a response!

  34. had no problems doing wsd after playing on pogo almost 8 yrs knew wat had to be done,payday went well to.just get one where aces are at bottom i find u can win game then

  35. Hi ev1 🙂 Payday was easy, Word search was easy, except I wish Pogo would learn how to word the challenge, only RANDOM counts in WSD. hagd ev1!

  36. I read about payday, here first of course, before starting badges and was able to help others in the room with clear instructions. It took longer than I would have liked but others were getting it in about 1/2 hour so it is possible.

    Off subject but may go through since it is a shout out to BH. I have just started using badge tracker and I can tell you that I am in LOVE. I used to have to go into numerous game rooms to look and see where I was rank wise and if I was close to getting another rank badge. It was such a hassle. This badge tracker is so easy to set up and tells you about every game and your progress level in every game. All in one convenient place. You do have to do some research to find out where you are in games to properly put your data in. Rank badges here I come.

  37. Seriously? I JUST ranked out in Word Search and was looking forward to not playing that game for a long, long time! lol

  38. I really wish pogo would stop with the challenges (and even mix n match and PBA ones) that are based on “random” games that earn you no progress towards ranks (especially TP)

  39. I must have gotten kicked out of the Payday rooms at least 20 times and I tried with different browsers. Finally got the badge, but very frustrating to say the least. Anyone else have this problem?

  40. Thankfully I bribed my Dad into playing my Payday Freecell. He did mention my tokens were resetting and some cards would move on their own. But I did get the badge!

  41. I got both badges really fast and played a mandm for each the payday fc badge was win 10 games with under 150 moves and was surprised i finished it in less than a hour!!!

  42. #40 susie: yes,i got kicked out..i’d say a good 15 times,both using IE and firefox.and when i actually won games and got the scratchers,i didnt get credit for it.not gonna even bother trying it again.too frustrating to even get angry over lol

  43. For WSD, I wasn’t surprised by the wording since I tested it out over a week ago when it was asked in the BH Answers section.
    I totally agree that Pogo really needs to get their wording straightened out since “Bonus” has multiple meanings in that game (and most others). One thing of note, though, is the Pogo finally did start putting the announcement that it’s Random puzzles which are required for the badge, so hopefully that’ll help clear it up for anyone still going for the badge.

    For Payday Free Cell, another member posted that they weren’t getting full credit for scratch cards which led me to pay attention and, sure enough, there were times I only got credit for 2 scrathers for the round even though I had 3 or 4 at 10 or more but what I found more interesting is that there times when I did only get 5 on a scratcher(s) but I got credit for 4 cards on those games too. So it all averaged out in the end and I got the badge in 6 games but I think Pogo has a problem with accurately recording the scratch card results.
    On another side note for payday, I also got some pretty good JP spins which is always nice.

  44. No problems with challenges once I came to BH and got the WSD clarification. Had to laugh at Payday Free Cell, clicked on an ace twice to send it to discard pile–got a message that it was an invalid move–LOL–had to click and drag it. Other than that, only got one spontaneous reset that I did not request, so glitch is practically gone. Gotta give some props to pogo for that. Still pausing and jerky and freezing, but, I did get my credit. So glad I ranked out in payday free cell long ago, as I would NOT have the patience now.

  45. Payday Freecell is messing up for me too. I have the Drawbridge M&M activated along with this one, which is to get 50+ on a card 10 times. ALL THREE GAMES I got a 25, two 50s, and a 75 from the scratchers. First game I got 4 for the weekly and 3 for the M&M, which is correct. For the second game I got no credit at all for either. After the third game it said I’m up to 7 for the weekly and 4 for the M&M. What the heck.

    This kind of stuff is why I’m so ticked about all the sites like Big Fish going under. They don’t seem to give a hoot anymore because hey, where else am I supposed to go.

  46. With all the issues Payday Freecell has why would pogo make it a weekly badge. I had such a hard time getting the badge with Flash crashing every second. Talked to pogo and they said it was me, they had no trouble at there end. Finally after a long time i did get the badge, but walked away frazzeled. Hope you all all doing better then i did.

  47. Hi all…I rarely post on Wed. thread, but just wanted to say that Payday is way easier if you play the game on FB, but I too, got shortchanged on the score cards. WS was really easy here (did a total of 3)…good luck all.

  49. stupid idiotic badge. play word search and puzzle doesn’t count towards badge?!? waste of time having to sort through umpteen puzzles just to get the badge. c’mon pogo get with it and smarten up…want the badge and puzzles don’t count…fail to see the logic

  50. Thanks to the folks who said Payday was easier at FB, you are right, I am winning more games and faster. Unfortunately I’m still not getting all the credits, I’ve missed at least 6 between yesterday and today. GRRRRR!

  51. I think Payday might be the first game I don’t finish. Ug. Between the difficulty (not only having to win the game, but scratch correctly for 20 games) and the instability of the darn game. I did notice the voting section for How Long Did it Take You, also included an option of Couldn’t Play the Game! Oh boy!

  52. Wish I would have read this before I finished the word search badge. I hid all the words and took me forever lol. Lesson learned from now on I will be checking on here before I do any weekly badges. Still working on the payday one am at 16 ..will try it on fb later.

  53. Oh boy, I think they’re going to get lots of nasty letters about the challenges this week. I lost 4 more card credits on Payday, I’ve lost 4 more credits, twice I only got 1 out of 4 that I should have had. I just had 17 credits and got all 4 cards according to their challenge but only got credit for 1. Thats a total of 10 credits I’ve lost and I’m still not quite done yet. So annoying!!!

Naturally I had to come here AFTER I’d had one game of PDFC mess up…I’d get 4 cards, all over 10 pts and get credit for 1…or 2… I will say however, that when I did this game for my main name and 3 other people on Wednesday, I got credit for EVERY bonus card, even those that were 5 points! I just thought they’d corrected it, and then over corrected it…but I see I must have just gotten lucky on those first 3 names I played for.

  55. Does anyone have any type of strategy for Payday? The how to play section says that the odds of losing the game are a mere .01% I for one am in that percentile! I think that in all the years I have tried to play that game that I may have won twice. (could be an exaggeration on my part) I seriously doubt that I will finish this challenge although I will still keep plugging away. I do not have Facebook and have no intentions of signing up, but any other advice, hints would be appreciated. Thanks

I thought the freecell game to get the badge was horrible!!!it took me almost 3 days while others came and went I heard many complaints from many other players regarding the same thing!!!The only reason I stuck it out was to get the col badge,but I will never go back to tha game again,and others have said the same!!thanks,JO

  58. Hi all
    Probably a bit late now to add tips – but just spoke to plum and noone seems to have clicked onto it here.Yes pogo is stuffing up with counting scratcher amounts – but it works both ways ie 10s and above that are not counted to total but 5s that ARE counted to total – what a joke.
    But heres a tip – assuming counting is correct.Start a game – if you have scratchers readliy accessible – then scratch first.If you get a 5 then hit new game – then replay hand – those scratchers will be in same position again and you scratch again – do this until you scratch all readily accessible scratchers with 10 + pts then hopefully finish the game and get credit.If at start of gm – scratchers are all blocked then consider hitting new gm until at least say 2 scratchers are relatively easy to free up.Hope this tip helps ya,
