Update: Jigsaw Detective is coming to an end!
I’m buried under an absolute landslide of emails and comments asking about June’s Jigsaw Detective case which is now over 36 hours late. I had been waiting for an official response from Pogo about the missing case, but since the emails and comments are still flowing in and I have yet to receive a word from my contacts, I am going to share with you what I do know so far. I’m sorry I wasn’t able to do this sooner.
As most of you know, the monthly Jigsaw Detective cases are usually loaded on Pogo’s web site on the evening of the last day of each month, but that didn’t happen on Monday. In the Jigsaw Detective game, there is usually a “coming soon” case at the end of the case list, but there wasn’t one for June. This has led to some unsubstantiated rumors that Jigsaw Detective is going to be shelved. I do not believe this to be true.
What I do believe is another rumor I’ve heard, that there was a problem on Pogo’s end with getting the puzzle out and the Jigsaw Detective puzzle is ready to go but it’s going to take a few days to load. It’s not official and it’s not for sure, but it’s the best I’ve got at this point.
As usual, stay tuned here for any updates — I’ll post them as I receive any news.
I’m sorry I am unable to respond individually to all of the emails and comments I have received inquiring about this latest Pogo fiasco. If you’d like to discuss the missing Jigsaw Detective case or share any rumors or insights you’ve heard, please do so in a comment on this thread below.

thanks for the update , waaaaaaaaaa

PS: no news on the new/June Clue episode yet either. I think there was never a promise of what specific day in June the new puzzle would be released, so I’m less concerned about its release than I am for Jigsaw Detective’s June case.

ty.it prob down to memorial day too cause mix and match badges were late being released

Thank you for your input. When I couldn’t bring up a new case either on the evening of the 31st or the next day, I figured it was a glitch since there was no prior announcement from Pogo that the game was being eliminated. Normally they post something when a game is being removed in their news section. My dismay is that Pogo could have at least let the players know that there is an issue with that game.
Genevieve says
Lura, I appreciate your update and I apologize for what you go through when there is a Pogo problem. I agree, Pogo could at least give us some type of update somewhere on there site or when people go into Jigsaw Detective. If nothing else I think they owe us updates on this type of situation,, it would lessen the burden on you Lura. Again, thank you and I apologize for you having to go through all of this for US!!! Maybe Pogo should take a page out of your book and show the concern and understanding that you show Lura.
Sandy says
Thanks for the update Lura! You definitely go above and beyond when it comes to keeping us informed.
Kat8mouse says
Let’s hope the Detective has a June wedding and then more mysteries will be in store for the married couple so we can have puzzles for a long time to come. I sure hope that Pogo does not discontinue Jigsaw Detective. I truly enjoy playing this game.
Ban says
You know people are addicted when they cry over something being a couple days late. *blank stare*..
Just go to a new game? My only suggestion.
Ardenwolfe says
I wondered what was going on as well. Thank you for the posting on this.

On the Pogo Forums, a Pogo rep mentioned that CLUE would be out later this month. It was never specified that it would come out on the first of the month as the other serial games are.
As for Jigsaw, I wouldn’t have noticed a missing case for another two years… 😉

Thanks for the update.

Thank You SOOOOOOOOO much Lura!! Sorry I was one of the ones bugging you about it. Will keep my eyes pealed for any information. THANK YOU for the special thread on this.

Thank You for the update on jigsaw for jume much appreciated

Ugh, I had such high hopes that the monthly cases had been discontinued. A few years ago, I plowed through and got all caught up because there was such a huge hole in my Game Award album. Now, the new case is like a chore I have to do at the beginning of the month because I worked so hard to get caught up lol.
I thought, for sure, when they released Treasure Hunter, it was their way of putting Detective to bed. No such luck…. and this looked even more promising!
Jennifer says
Thanks Lura for the update. I was wondering why a new case wasn’t up yet. Much appreciated.

Hi all
I had a conversation with Pogo Andy yesterday on live chat, according to him there are technical problems, it could take 3-4 days ( but with pogo anything is possible) but even they have had no updates, so what does that tell you
loz
Kendra says
I thought possibly they had decided to give us new puzzles (I know – VERY wishful thinking) 😉 and that is what could be taking so long. But I don’t think I’ll hold my breath on that one. Thank you Lura for the update! 🙂

I’m a Beta tester and there is NO badge past the May case on the Beta server.
This causes me to wonder greatly about the future of Jigsaw Detective.
The badges are always on Beta, even when there are problems moving the program over to Reg. Pogo.
I’ve Beta tested almost every session with my multiple club accounts, and have NEVER seen the JD puzzle for the next month be missing at the end of the previous month.
So, yes, I am concerned. Not seriously worried, but somewhat concerned for the reasons stated above. Thank you for allowing me to post my opinion.

Just wish to thank you for the up date. Also wish you would put on some different pictures to slove. those buildings and bathrooms are getting pretty gaggy. Have a good week.

Jancye – This is not Pogo and Lura is not the one that picks the puzzles. If you really want new puzzles I would suggest emailing Pogo. Sooner or later they will get enough emails and do something.

Something you may find intriguing. I started Jigsaw Detective after the midnight hour, and it showed that I was working towards completing
Case #70. The puzzle picture was CRAPS (DICE).
More than halfway through, the game froze. I exited, re-entered, and then discovered that I was now on Case #1.
It is all so hilarious, and gives us something to talk about. Doesn’t everyone agree?
gbpack says
I e-mailed Pogo, & was told it was a problem on their end, & should be ok in a few days. I asked if game was being terminated, & was told no, it wasn’t. Dave
Richard K. says
Lura,
Interesting on pogo. They must really be having problems posting thing. I looked on BADGE page to see next weeks challenges and they are not listed. Maybe that also explains no Jigsaw. Wanted to let everyone know.
Jennifer says
Thanks for the info, Lura.
I am so far behind on Jigsaw Detective that I don’t believe I’ll ever catch up. Like Joe (#15), I was really hoping Pogo might have decided to stop doing monthly Jigsaw cases and just leave the game up on the servers for people to catch up or do old cases over and over again. That’s about the only way I think I’ll ever get caught up. lol
noremmy says
Thank for the update and all your hard work Lura, it’s truly appreciated!!

hopefully pogo is fixing the glitch where you don’t get credit sometimes if you play cases on “hard” difficulty!

Coming Soon!Coming Soon: Final Puzzle in Jigsaw Detective!
June 2, 2010 | Staff
After nearly six years of new monthly puzzles in Jigsaw Detective, the story is coming to a dramatic conclusion. If you’ve been following the various cases in Jigsaw Detective, then you’re familiar with the gritty theme and our hard-boiled hero, the Jigsaw Detective. Big city, big mysteries. You’ve been helping him solve them for years now.
Well, like any great series, it’s time for this one to come to an end. The game itself will remain available, but our Jigsaw Detective will be retiring… maybe in Florida. Maybe in Cancun. It’s likely he’ll need to keep it a secret after everything he’s experienced. We can’t give anything away, so stay tuned…
Catch up on any missed puzzles for Jigsaw Detective.
Ro says
Well….there will be a finale puzzle & then Jigsaw is done…at least the ‘editor’ clarified it.
Editor: Well… all things must come to an end, I’m afraid, but not without a dramatic conclusion. For those of you who’ve been following our hero for all these years, we’ll be releasing a final puzzle before he officially retires.
After the finale, Jigsaw Detective – after nearly six years – will no longer be updated with new puzzles. Of course, you’ll still be able to play the plethora of puzzles available.

According to Pogo’s Letters to the Editor, there will be no new Jigsaw Detective cases.

According to Pogo staff, Jigsaw Detective is coming to a “dramatic conclusion” – Why couldn’t they just have stated that in the first place? Pogo needs to work on their communication. Just my opinion.

Well, it looks like Joe #15 will get his wish after all. In all honesty, I myself am feeling king of relieved. Essentially, I guess Jigsaw Detective will be replaced with Clue – as far as monthly episodic mystery cases go.
I guess, in that case, Jigsaw Detective will have a grand total of 70 ranks.
PepperGlenwood says
I just read Pogo News, and this is the headline: Coming Soon: Final Puzzle in Jigsaw Detective! No explicit details on if there will be any final puzzle, or if it is just done. True to Pogo fashion, the last sentence of the article is “We can’t give anything away, so stay tuned… “
Kelly 🙂

Ack!! Just read this weeks Letters to the Editor, and he states that there will be one last puzzle, but doesn’t say when. Should of done all my research before posting the first comment.

I just saw in Pogo News that they are retiring Jigsaw Detective. It says they will keep the game up. So I don’t know if that means that we will still be able to get past badges we haven’t gotten or if those will be retired also. Anyway…I suggest everyone go to Pogo News and read what Pogo has written about it.

Looks like Pogo will be dropping the final curtain for our beloved Jigsaw Detective according to the weeks LttE. I know some of you are happy about it, but I am sorry to see it go. That was one of the games I looked forward to playing every month. Unlike Clue, I guess Pogo saw no revenue in it <—yep my ever jaded attitude comes creeping back through *sigh*

This was also asked in the Letters to the Editor with the response:
Who’s on the Case of The Mysteriously Missing Jigsaw Puzzle?
Hello,
I have enjoyed every one of the 69 Jigsaw Detective puzzles to date, and look forward to the last evening of the month when the new case puzzles are usually out.
This month ( June), there is no new puzzle, not even the white envelope that says ” Coming June 8th” or whatever date they usually have every month.
Please tell us what the status of the game is. People are filling up the rooms, and trying/ wanting to play. I know I’ve checked the game numerous times hoping and looking for June’s puzzle.
If this is something that had to be pushed back due to the holiday in the USA, then my apologies for saying anything at all. Memorial Day is a holiday close to my heart.
Please help those of us who are die-hard sleuthers solve the mystery of the missing Jigsaw Detective June case. 🙂
Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
Amanda
