I hope today I can get into one of the rooms (it’s 70ΒΊ here today)….if you can’t get in? Go to your messages, send the invite to YOURSELF, pick the room you want, select the time 30 minuntes before the current time — send it to yourself and click the link — even if the room is full it will let you in, gla!

The ‘chess badge’ isn’t going to be fun. π

No credit if you resign? Is that saying what I think it is saying – we actually have to complete the chess games? ruh roh & ugh lol

I just did the chess badge and offering a draw gives badge credit.

Here 47 moves where you capture all computer’s pieces + win the game.
You need to set the table to start with white and no changing sides each game.
Using this you get badge in 4 games.

The Chess badge can be won by following the chess moves listed on the side bar – you only capture two pieces per game but it’s a sure thing. Make sure you select the room to play in and don’t select the box that says to switch sides after each game, thereby always being the one to start with the white pieces. Good luck everyone.
Rick says
Sorry guys, I didn’t check the date of the invitation. Invited myself tomorrow.
What’s everyone average of bingos per game in Lottso? Just wondering about how many games it’s going to take to get it.
Debra says
Just finished up the chess badge – only took about 15 minutes using the chess moves from the side board.
Michele says
Rick —> out of time for the moment, but have played two rounds of Lottso and have 121 bingos so far. So, 4 or 5 games ought to do it for most folks.
Cookie says
Rick – I just played one game of lottso express the way I normally do, and I got 72 bingos. So it should take me 3 games to get the badge. not bad if you ask me
evanka11 says
I got the lottso badge in about an hour — doing one side of the board at a time, and then the other — went pretty fast, i thought.

These moves give you 4 captures and a win in Chess. You have to be the white pieces, don’t switch sides and you can win in 15 seconds.
Elizabeth says
Not knowing how to play and not using any tips, I did the Chess badge in under an hour. In each game I captured about 8 pieces.
AMM says
Even if you know nothing about Chess (like me!!) the badge is not too bad. If you play against the computer, when you click a piece it shows you where you can move. I have picked up 3 to 7 pieces each game, just moving pieces around and following the computers moves. I may never win a game, but at least I’ll get my badge! π
Thanks for all your hard work, Lura!! I check your page every day before I go play at Pogo!!
Sal says
If you only need a few more bingos to get 200 you do not have to complete another whole game. Just get as many bingos as you need and click new game. You will get credit.
Most get it in 3 to 4 games.
kathe. says
I’m finished with both! I used the chess moves, but since you only take two pieces with each win… I started with the moves and then just moved pieces around and took pieces whenever I could. I never one, but I got a lot of pieces… haha!
Mia says
Happy badge day all!! I’m in the chess room now and don’t see any BH’s.. anyone playing?? .. I have never played Chess before and do not know how to play! Hopefully I will get the badge.. My 5yr old godchild learned to play chess and loves to play it.. So it can’t be that hard right!?.. Lottos should be easy.. so that will give me room to work on my m&m’s and pba’s.. It’s 75 here in GA… Finally nice out!! Hope all is having a great day!!
beth says
well with the chess badge i wasnt worrying about winning so…
i played the red side every time (no swapping sides) and i mimicked the other computers moves till i captured 3 men, then i just moved pieces randomly and usually got 7 to 11 pieces each game so the badge took me about 30 mins…..*sighs* not as bad as i thought it would be, but didnt win but 1 game had many draw games so worked out pretty well….
now as for the UCKY badge for me this week lottso exp… plan on doing it @ lil @ a time… dont really care for the game and am dreading it lol….hagd all and gl with badges….
SooZen says
it took me 4 games to get the Lottso badge. It was fairly quick I think
ELL says
Hi all chess is easy if you can play with a friend. You cant resign but you can each take most of pieces then offer a draw when you are just dancing around. Pieces taken count when you offer a draw. Have a great day all.
Hoser says
Using the How to Win at Chess moves as a starting point, here are some moves to capture all opponent’s pieces and win the game. There are probably quicker ways to do it, but once you’ve done it a few times, you learn the moves and it goes pretty fast. You capture most of the pieces from move 24 to 33. Be sure to play as white all the time.

If you go to YouTube and type in pogo chess, you can watch a video of how to checkmate very quickly and easily, while capturing nearly all the pieces. Works every time.

Ty Hoser #23.. Your tips really helped me out and I got my badge in less than 30 mins.. Starting to understand chess a lil.. but I don’t think its a game I will play very often! ty for the help.. Now on to lottso…

No problem. I forgot to mention you should play in a Beginner room. I don’t know if it’ll work in a higher difficulty room.

Ty Ty so much Hoser #23….got the badge using your list….Will never play Chess again unless it is a challenge and then maybe not. Good Luck everyone.

ty for the chess tips. no way I could have gotten this badge without working all day and night for the week.. LOL This is a great site

Hello all, just getting around to Pogo so will take all the advice given here on chess and hopefully be done in no time at all. Thanks to all who gave tips for chess~you’re simply the BEST!!! Where would we all be without Lura who’s the BESTEST!!!
evanka11 says
thanks for all the chess tips — old and new!
I got it very quickly using them.
Jenn22690 says
thanks for the tips guys!!! I tried to follow them as best I could, but the computer wouldn’t cooperate .. LoL .. still only took about half an hour for the chess badge, which isn’t too bad. As for the Lottso badge, I got it in about 20 minutes and 3 games (I’m pretty good at the game and I enjoy it, so that might have helped me .. LoL)
Off to my PC badge now .. *waves*

I am quite illiterate at Chess. How does one get to choose the White as one’s pieces? Don’t even know what each piece is called, so the Letters are not helping me. I really need someone to help me. PLEASE!!!!
gbpack says
Hoser #23..GREAT HELP !!! TYVM, got it in 10 min. Great to see e1’s hints & helps, makes getting badges so easy. Thanks again, Hoser, & gl all
jaredph says
Vivienne (#37): the white side is the seat on the left. The letters refer to the spaces on the board. Look for the letters and numbers on the sides of the board.
I used the original “how to win at chess” because i didn’t look at the posts until now, oops lol. It’s not that bad though, took me about 1-2 mins. per game, so i got it in much less than an hour.
The lottso express badge shouldn’t be that hard either. It helps if you go for the mega lottso cards (Fill all the cards in the center first, and then scratch them). There are 14 bingos possible on the board at one time, so it shouldn’t take that long.
Anjail says
ViviennePC
the white is the left side of the table
gjb1443 says
ViviennePC #37 to choose white you pick the seat on the left of the table.
The tips in Hoser #23 refers to the spots on the board so you don’t need to know what pieces are what. The board is marked with letters across the bottom and #s on the side. Just move which ever piece is in the first square to the 2nd square on hoser’s list. So for step 1 just move piece on E2 to E4.
Hope that helps you ViviennePC
MomsBassetHound says
Vivienne – When you go to sit down at a table you want to sit in the seat that is to the top/left…that makes you the player with the white pieces.
The numbers/letters do not have anything to do with the name of the pieces. They refer to the position of the pieces on the board. There are letters along the bottom of the board and the numbers are on the sides of the board.
If this doesn’t help you then maybe you will want to look at the video that someone mentioned in an earlier post.

# 37
for the answer if your white pieces or not when u sit down u will know white from red if u r red stand up sit n other side ( far side of table is white )
and has for the numbers and letters they r pretty easy letters r left to right .
numbers r up and down
so say if it was e2to e4 u would move it up 2 places hope this helps
gl i didnt need help cas i luv to play chess / if need help holler back
KathySNJ says
I am in no way a chess player. I use the published moves to play. The letters and numbers given are on the side and bottom of the board. Where you sit determines what color you are. If you end up black, leave the table and sit in the other seat. Good Luck!! I will need it. : )
Shelly says
Vivienne # 37.
When you first click ‘play’ to sit at a table, choose the top seat, that’s the white seat (if you look at the table top before you sit there is a white mark above the board and a red mark below it)
Then when setting up your table make sure there isn’t a check in the box that says ‘players switch sides after every game’, that way you will stay white every game.
Once you are in your game you will see the board has letters running along the bottom edge and numbers running along the left hand side, these are the letters and numbers the moves are refering to so you move your first piece from E2 to E4.
Hope that helps.
Also not wanting to sound rude but am I the only one who didn’t understand Docs post # 7 at all?!? lol
Indy says
Hoser, DocSimplyDoc and all – you are the best. Sharing the chess information made this challenge (and others to come in the future) stress-free. A huge thanks to everyone who offered tips. Absolutely super. A lot of us could never begin to do some of these badges without the sharing of info and tips. And, as always, a great bunch of people coming together in a great website. Thanks very much.
don says
Sounds like some great tips this week. For those of u familiar with double browsing (there is a how to link above) it worked fine for me. Got done in about 10 minutes. I should also be helpful in jungle gin, which is part of the new PBA. If you are not set up for it, the tips here will work very well.
ellen520 says
DON’T STRESS ABOUT CHESS!! Here’s what to do…go into the lobby of any room and ask if anyone is willing to help you with your badge. Then just move/capture pieces and then ask for a DRAW (but do not resign). You will get your badge in just a few games. Then go back into the lobby and pay it forward…offer to help someone else who is struggling, surely we can all spare 15 or 20 minutes! People on POGO are being very helpful and gracious with this badge, in my experience today. Anyone needing help is free to pogo-mail me and I will help you.
Thankfully, Lottso only took 4 games to get the badge (not one of my favorites, but very, very doable).
Thanks to Lura for encouraging everyone to help each other out!!
Mamabear says
Thanks so very much for the tips, I got my badge and a friend’s too b/c she’s without her PC for a few days. Had both of them in less than 45 mins. No way could I have done it without the chess guru’s tips. And duhmmy that I can be at time had a time trying to figure out how to get white, but after 3 tries I hit self in noggin and clicked on right seat. Off to work on Lottso Express~good thing I like this game and can use it to rank up a bit closer LOL. Good luck everyone.

they light up to tell you which way they can only move too also
NLinda says
Post #45 Shelly, I too was confused by Doc’s Post #7 until I saw how the puter keeps track of the moves while playing chess, then it all came clear. Once again thanks to all who have shared their chess tips, made getting the badge SO much less painful!

l3ear's Mrs says
Well since I have no idea what I’m doing playing chess, other than the fact that Pogo chose it for a challenge this week. So to kill 2 birds with 1 stone, played it while double browsing with l3ear’s name, still had a PBA to do for both of us too.
I tried to follow along with the tips offered in # 7’s post, sorry DocS I had no idea what the heck you were talking about, I tried to crack your code, but so appreciate the work you put into. So then I noticed that when you click on any piece others light up, and I captured it, was like a found treasure, each one made me laugh. For each game I was getting 15 to 13 pieces per game. It took 2 games to get the PBA-Night’s Knights Badge for both of us and maybe 30 minutes to complete both challenges.
Sorry #14 badge was done way before your posting. You are all awesome for sharing your knowledge of this game. I still don’t like chess, will only play it when there is a challenge for it.
Lottso Express was a piece of cake to win, took maybe 15 minutes each to get. — (mann!, I miss a decent piece of cake)
As always: Have a great day/night everyone and stay safe.
Enjoy your game playing.
