This has been a totally awesome week here at BadgeHungry, hope it’s been good for you all too! As May winds down and we head into summer, I thought I’d mix things up this weekend and instead of asking a question, I’d let you guys ask the questions…about tough badges! Welcome to my idea of a “Badge Help Bonanza”!

One of the best things about these weekend open threads, at least from my point of view, is the overall helpfulness of everyone who participates. I love seeing someone post about having a hard time with a badge only to get response after response from people willing to help them out. It’s even more exciting for me when that person comes back to thank their helpers. This weekend’s open thread is dedicated to the spirit of helping that so many here seem to have.

If you’re stuck on a badge and need some help, or interested in helping someone else with a badge, post a comment here. If you have any particularly good tips for earning a tough badge or are looking for tips on a tough badge you’re trying to earn, post about it here!

And, of course, because it’s the weekend open thread, you can just talk about anything you’d like — the weather, upcoming games and badges, or maybe you’re still stuck on that whole guestbook privacy thing. Go ahead, chat it up… almost anything goes. 🙂

The badge I will have trouble with is the “underknock” challenge in Gin and the “give token gifts” in Pogo Addiction Solitaire, so any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated.   5. genevieve, you might be happy to know that, according to Badge Central, they’ve reduced the Gin underknocks to four and the PA Sol gifts to 6.

    i’ve found that there is always someone around the card games willing to help on badges. if you ask in the lobby if someone is willing to help, i’ll bet someone says yes. often, folks are even announcing badge help and such-and-such table.

    PA Sol, unfortunately, is just a matter of luck with getting that gift icon to give. luckily, there is no clock ticking and there is that nifty undo button. one tip i can give you in that game is to never move a card if the only card it reveals is a king–no more plays on that and if you leave it, a different play may turn up.

  6. Genevieve for the underknock gin badge I usually play the Oklahoma with the tin man if you keep an ace the tin man will often knock withpts that you often get the underknock pts gl hope it helps

  8. The badges this week were pretty easy, I thought. Rainy Day took a little time, even on easy, but it was still enjoyable. Some of my favorite badges on Pogo are the Spider Solitaire badges. I think Octavia is so adorable despite the fact I’m deathly afraid of spiders. lol

    The Jungle Gin badge for next week should be pretty easy if you set up a table with a friend and one loses to the other on purpose. It shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes for both people to get thier badges if they play quickly.

    The Addiction Solitaire badge is another story. I can win a hand in that game once in a blue moon so I’ve stopped even trying. I get my buddies then hit new game. Plus, I get so tired of all the “ty’s” “yw’s” and “I gave you a gift, why didn’t you thank me?” or “who should I give this to ‘xxx’ or ‘xxx’?” then the room gets to choose who is more worthy. But, I’ll suffer through it. I’ve got to have those badges! lol

    Is anyone else getting really frustrated with the tendency for there to be TWO of the SAME correct answers on some of the UK Trivial Pursuit questions? One of the choices is wrong but the other is right. There’s no pattern to which one to pick. It’s totally random. There was one in there this week. I play that game every day for me, my family and a couple of friends (7 accounts in total). I managed to get the right answer twice, missed it the other seven.

    If Pogo isn’t doing that on purpose to keep people from getting tons of perfect scores they really need to double check those questions and answers before they put them live on the site.

    The Shooting the Moon badge is a toughie!

    It pretty much comes down to luck. If you get dealt a hand with a lot of high hearts (aces, face cards and numeric cards from 10 to 7) and the Queen of Spades, you’ve got it licked. You don’t always need to be dealth the Queen of Spades in that good hand but it sure does help. I swear, the bots know when you’re trying to Shoot the Moon and they will throw a cog in your wheel every time. A really good hand where you can take every single trick comes around once in a blue moon (pun intended, lol).

    It will also help you alot if you can find three friends that will play the game with you and intentionally throw hands your way. That’s a lot easier than sitting there for days on end trying to get just the right deal.

    I admit that I’m kind of slow in catches on to some things (the games are not some of them) but for the life of me, I can’t figure out why the “Guest book” was necessary. However, I’m very happy that I can prevent one of my rivals from viewing my accomplishments because she uses “AUTO” and I can’t compete with that. The downside to that is it blocks other people from seeing my stats and I’m not happy about that.
    I am also very willing to help with any of the games(including Pewter Golf). Anyone can leave me a message in my Pogo box, same name as here.

  12. having a Lot of trouble with the pebble beach golf PC from 2004. need two spins. Cant shoot under par to save my life. Can anyone help with this?

  13. If you get annoyed with Pogo Add. Sol. like I do, realize that if you aren’t in it for the tokens, you don’t have to finish the game! Just move all the gold cards (to collect your buddies for your rank, or see if you have a token gift up) and then hit “New Game.” You do have to complete a game (it stays game after game until you win, I believe) to give the token gift, but why bother hanging around if you don’t have one up? That’s my advice for next week.

    I think I’m the official help giver on DD:Family Style. I’m only on the third restaurant and been at it two weeks, but I’m always helping people who ask in chat. (PS, the answer is always ‘don’t seat the elderly until closing time.’) I hope someone comes along and helps me soon! I’m about to be over my head in that game, but I want to unlock all the locations!

    I have to say I love this website for advice – thanks for letting me jump right in a few weeks ago. I’ve gotten some good tips here. I guess, as in all aspects of live, the hardest part is asking for help! When you ask, you are bound to get something! Good luck all!

    I always have trouble with Canasta!! 🙁 boo hiss, boo hiss! I play the bots because I don’t have a partner and I’ve beat them a few times and have a few badges to prove it. But it was miserable, even went down to the wire on time too!

    But attempting another? I don’t think so!! Someone would have to approach ME!! lol Then I’d give it some serious thought, lol

    I do have one thing I’d like to ask this little community—Has anyone wondered WHEN Pgo is going to allow us to activate MORE than one M&M Badge at the same time? Afterall, alot of us have several M&M Albums….WHY COULDN’T WE BE ALLOWED TO ACTIVATE ONE FROM EACH ALBUM?? That’s my question??

    We spend alot of money at Pogo on these extra Badges! Isn’t it fair and about time for a little give and take here? Just would like some other opinions on this idea….would you be interested in this? If so would you post so I’d know what you think?

    I’m going to write the Pogo Editor and EA too and ASK THEM WHEN THEY ARE GOING TO LET US START DOING THIS!!! WELL??? WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK??

    LET ME KNOW?? THAT IS, IF LURA DOESN’T MIND–Do you mind Lura? Because I’d really like to know if it’s just me being greedy or not! ROFL But there are SO many times I’m working on the Weekly Challenges and sure would like to use my M&M BADGES, plural! I did buy them to use, didn’t you?? Especially during the TRIPLE Weekly Challenges, WOW, that would be super, wouldn’t it??

Hi everyone I was wondering if anyone can tell me if you can use bots in a rated game, I need 2 badges for album 2004 ..Spades win 3 rated games. and Euchre win 5 rated games . i cant get anyone to play till i get the badges. thats why im wondering if these games can be set up to play with bots. thank you.   19. Vin, I too had problems with the Pebble Golf badge. I finally gave up and emailed pogo. They told me the scoring had a technical problem, and they don’t plan on fixing it. I gathered when they fixed the glitch, they caused another problem. They told me we all have ONE chance to get a freebie badge, but we have to request it. I did, and a few others did, and they gave us the badge. You have to request it via EA help.

Vin: I read in another weekend post that someone simply wrote to pogo saying how they have tried and tried to do that badge with no success because of some possible glitch in the game and that Pogo should just delete that challenge. After a few emails back and forth, the poster found that the badge was indeed given to her for free. I can’t remember the poster’s name, my apologies. Give it a shot, it just might work for you!

  21. Hiya…another weekend! Hi Lura…hope it was a good week!

    Ok I have a question….this is in regards to Mini items. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my mini!! But then again I love SIMS. So I was looking on another site of some past mini items…and was wondering…why do they even expire clothes…if they made them…why don’t they just keep them available for us to get? Why not let us all get a chance to get them? And why oh why can’t women have more than a pair of orange shorts or boxers? Women get hot too and want shorts!! Last question…why can’t they make more androgynous clothes. Like make purses as extra’s and shoes as extra’s. I like the suit…but not the pumps that go with it. I like the leather jacket sort of…but not the purse. I saw really nice stuff they used to have….I WANT THEM!!

    Ok…vent over….I just want more mini stuff…PERIOD! (And not all girly stuff either!)

    Go to help on home page and write them and tell them you are having trouble with Pebble Beach Golf. They know there is a glitch in it. You are allowed 1 free badge and this could be it…Good Luck…I did and they helped me…

  24. First of all, Lura, this is a great site. I would be lost without it. I just wish I could come to this page from the Badge Tracker without getting logged out.

    Bobby – for the Shoot the Moon badge, try playing against the bots on the Master Tab. They’re much smarter on that tab and won’t take hearts by accident like on the other tabs. Also, throw your low cards as early in the hand as possible. For this badge, you want to be taking tricks at the end of the hand when the bots are ducking hearts. Also try to hold on to any long suits you have. With the right suit, if you get the lead you can take the rest of the tricks pretty easily.

    I spent several weeks trying for this badge. Once I switched to the Master tab I got in in 1 game and about 10 minutes. And then spent half an hour kicking myself for not trying it sooner lol.
    Oh and be sure to uncheck about having to take the 10 of diamonds to shoot the moon in the options.

  25. I just had the best help in getting the Canasta badge. I would like to thank all the Pogo “buddies” who help everytime there is a badge out there that I can’t get on my own. There is always someone willing to help. There are very few Pogo people that I have met that I don’t like. Everyone is a winner in Pogo Land.

I can get the badge for hard, but it takes me a while – like 3-4 days, since I need rbreaks from the game on that level..LOL. Also, can help with most word games.   30. ok…..i’ve hesitated long enough about posting this complaint, so here it is. i thought boardwalk sea ball was an interesting game at first, but then i noticed that if i am in a room with 4 players or more, the same person (or 2 people) constantly wins the game. it doesn’t matter if they have won 1 round or all 5; they always come in first place at the end of the game. not only that, but that have outrageously high scores. i finally started playing in rooms where i am the only one and even playing perfect rounds i barely break 3,000; how are people getting 4500 to 5000 points??? is there a secret to this game?

  32. I seem to be having a problem getting the Jigsaw treasure hunter badge in gift of fun album. I cannot do the puzzle in 8 minutes .I don’t know what to do this is the last badge I need to complete the album. any help will be appreciated.

  33. Kat F. – I’m with you, why can’t we use more than one M&M Badge at a time? After all we do get to do at least 3 badges each week and I like to jump around for my badges, if I stay in one game till it’s gotten it seems more like a job than fun – lol.

    Jennifer – I find that in Trivial Pursuit when there are 2 answers the same I ALWAYS pick the wrong one!!! Very frustrating cause that messes up the tokens and stats in the game.

    Lura – Love this site!!!! I keep recommending this site to Trivial Pursuit players who do not have all perfect games in their stats, both UK and US, especially those with under 1 million tokens – please keep this site running. If you ever need some kind of assistance in that, and I can do it, I’m in!! Just let me know.

  34. rdeanna – I can do that in less than 8 minutes with no problem. Pogo mail me at this name – TommiRB and let me know temporary password and I’ll activate and do it. There is a trick where you bring center pieces to others and they automatically “click” to come together.

  35. I thought June’s Mix ‘n’ Match badges would’ve been out this week, as they are normally out in the last week of the previous month.

    This weeks badges were easy and fun. I found the peeps in The Pub (UK) room in Rainy Day Sol very helpful and made playing the game fun.

  36. Great topic this weekend! I’ve finished my badges for the week and can help anyone with theirs, with the exception of the golf one and spider solitaire on hard…I can win 99% of the time on easy, have already ranked out in that game. I love canasta and I did the badge this week playing the tinheads 4 player game. If anyone needs help, send me a pogo mail. My username is phantomreaderx .

    I can’t do that M&M dominoes one, where you have to get 60 points on one turn…I’ve given up on getting that one.

  37. OK I can help with the Canasta badge….Here goes!!

    I got this weeks badge in three hands playing this way so first play a bot. The first 9 cards in the pile the bot will not pick up the pile at all. After the 10th card you want to throw a deuce or joker to freeze the deck. Then if you follow every card the bot plays, 99% of the time it will not pick up the pile. Just keep throwing the cards that it throws down untill you get to about 25 in the pile. Then when the bot throws down a card that you can pick up to meld with, do it. Playing this way will always allow you to be the first one to pick up the pile. After that I am sure you can figure it out.
    usually get over 3000 points in one hand playing this way and you get a lot of melds with no wilds. Fast way to make tokens, get your badge, AND climb ranks.

  38. The trick to make Addiction go faster is just play until you have all of the gold cards gone.

    Gin usually goes faster if you have to game on Oklahoma and play on a level higher than social or beginner.

    camcell7: Unfortunately you can’t play rated games with bots. It’s not so bad in a two player game where you can get a friend to help. It’s the four player games that are such a pain! I’m not big on ratings, so if you need help, or anyone else needs help, with a rated game, let me know. My pogo sn is cherie23694. Well…unless it’s spades…then you’re on your own!

    As for doing more than one M&M at a time, it doesn’t bother me at all. I’m at the point where if I’m not doing a badge, then Pogo has become rather boring. So the longer I can draw out the badges, the better. I’ve ranked out in most of the games that interest me so now I’m working on my fiance’s games lol.

    I love this site, Lura! It’s always full of useful information and I enjoy reading all the different opinions…most of the time. You do a great job of keeping everyone up to date. Thanks so much!!!

  40. Hi. I chose a Rated Spades game for my personal this week, not realizing I needed 3 actual humans playing with me instead of computers. Is anyone interested in helping me get my badge? I have to win 3 250-pt rated games. I will be on tonight (fri), most of Saturday but night time would be better, and sunday night.

  43. Dilly, I see the same thing (everything shifted over) when I go to the badges page to change an icon. I initially wrote Pogo a few days ago AND included a screenshot of it to show them and tonight got the worst giggles when they replied with the “Please send a screenshot” step by step message. DOH! I’ll leave this one up to them to figure out. Eventually they’ll get the hint when more mail rolls in about it.

    By the way, I love this site! Keep up the great work! I pass by all the time 🙂 Very nice people as well posting the threads.

  49. I do both the US and the UK Trivial Pursuit each day. (Thank you Lura, for the help!) A few times I have started on the UK, only to discover it is the game for the next day. I don’t know the time difference between the east coast here and the UK. What would be the latest time I could play to get the game in before they are on the next day. Or what is the EST here when it is midnight there. Anyone else have this happen to you…gives you sort of a panicked feeling doesn’t it? lol

    rdeanna5: about Jigsaw. I can’t remember who said it and I haven’t tried it, but the advice was to complete all but a couple pieces of the puzzle, then go activate the badge, then come back and finish the puzzle. Hope it works for you.

  50. Son got my golf badge after many tries. Sis said she got the badge by not scoring and pogo feeling sorry for her… hit the ball out of bounds. Keep hitting it out of bounds (or at least away from the hole) and after several bad strokes you’ll advance to the next hole. Your score will add up but fear not: it will reset to zero towards the end of the game. Finish the last few holes in the same way, never hitting your ball into the hole, and you’ll get a spin. Note there’s no guarantee this glitch will continue to work. Hope the glitch is still working

    was reading your thread when i caught your comment about Ms. Netiquette you caused me to spray my keyboard with soda, giggling like hell!!! thought i was gonna the only 1 who noticed the lame response.
    what i don’t get, is i totally disabled the guest book yet i got comments from the ficticious Spike as well as dear ole’ Nettie, go figure.
    to joann aout Jigsaw Hunter, the trick is to NOT activate the badge until you know your close enough to finish, then pause, go to your badge & activate, then go back & finish up, gl i hope this helps, it did for me : )

    The trick to the jigsaw timed puzzle badges is to not activate the badge until you only have a couple of pieces left to put together. Activate the badge then, and finish it! That’s all it takes!

  53. I look at what everyone wrote and its sad. Can you do this badge i dont know how etc . As far as im concern its 100 % WRONG !!! If you dont know how to play the game you dont get the badge . Did the word cheat ever cross anyones brain. What are adults teaching children if you dont know how to do something get it done by cheating ???

  54. I am also having trouble with the jigsaw treasure hunter badge, solving a normal puzzle in 8 minutes. I tried the suggestion of activating the badge when I only had a few pieces left but it did not work for me so I tried it again and same thing, nothing happened. Are there any other tips for solving faster?

  55. re: Jennifer and the problem at UK Trivial Pursuit with two correct answers….the same thing happen a few days ago with the US version. The question was “What is the only female animal to have antlers?” Two of the answers were ‘caribou’ and ‘reindeer’. They happen to be the exact same animal. But if you chose ‘reindeer’, the answer was considered incorrect.

  57. I am also reading that some are having problems with their mini’s…..I am, too, but mine is with the mini mall as well….I cannot see anything that moves on the premium purchases. Pogo has been of no help. Am also having problems when playing in a private room against the computer……nearly every time I am about to win the game, the window closes and another one opens to say ‘sorry for the inconvenience’. I never had any problems until the very day that non-members were allowed greater access. That’s the day when all the problems started.

    was rainy here in st. louis, but now sunshine today.

    The glitch in pebble beach no longer works…
    Thank you Faith and I wrote last weekend, but not sure it was seen, so am repeating…I wrote to pogo and after a couple of back and forths, they did give me the badge. Didn’t beg, just told them I thought it was unfair to have a glitch where thousands got their badge and we late-comers had to work for an impossible one. And they agreed.

    Love the site Lura.
    Love the answers for Triv Pur, but, do it for a couple of people and it is really becoming a pain…lol. Sooo boring, I can hardly stand it anymore. The only reason i’m continuing is the 30,000 plus tokens one gets on Sunday.

  60. Many badges have a fast or trick way to get versus playing the regular way. Use your chat. I go in and ask “any quick way to get badge” or
    “any tips or hint for badge” and will generally get some positive responses. Seasoned players know the tricks of the trade and are willing to share. Often when I go into a room I will spit out the “helper” in chat if I know one.

    A busy chat room is usually a friendly room… Shop around til you find one. I am game ranking in Tri Peaks and Finders/Keepers is a great room – we go all caps when 4 members enter who need all caps to participate in chat. If someone comes in and gets upset we let them know they can join us in caps, leave or keep quiet and stay (they usually either join us or never come back).

    Lobbies are a great place for help – usually there are seasoned players chatting “help with badge table ??” These players are generally willing to “lose” the game to help you get your difficult badge.

    I have learned and shared alot of “tricks of the trade” not only for badges but for playing the game and advancing in rank by participating and reading chats.

    Often I will see a pogo “newbie” (low tokes/badges) and share with them how to acces their profile for badges/stats, use emotions, and give hints for playing games and getting badges.

    A good chat room is a real jewel.

  62. dilly and dallie (lol)–i believe the badge/icon scramble can be corrected by updating or reinstalling your java. that’s what i had to do and now it’s fine.

    as far as doing more than one MM at one time, i’m betting it’s something with programming–the current system doesn’t recognize individual albums.

    and those high scores in boardwalk, well, i’ve had a few 5000s. a friend of mine is outrageously good at that game and will win every time she’s in the room. there are lots of ways to rack up points besides the perfect rounds–check out the Gameplay and Scoring & Winning sections in the game’s How to Play for some tips.

  64. Kaye – Here in Michigan I have to do the UK Trivial Pursuit before 7pm or I’m into the next day. I went to MSN and asked the time in UK right now, it was 5 hours earlier there than here so now I make sure to do UK TP by 7pm. Hope that helps.

I use badgehungry because I love the comments and especially the Trivial Pursuit answers, but have to switch to another site to get the rank info. Thank you for this wonderful site and for the TP answers.

    Robin, I look for a puzzle with three different main colors, like a field, trees and sky or water, boat and sky and do those when I have to do a puzzle under 8 minutes. Hope this helps you.

    • Hi Terri: no, I haven’t added the game ranks to this site, but as each weekend goes by (and someone asks where they are or why the site doesn’t have them) I’m realizing I need to take a few days and add them to the site. 🙂 So, for everyone asking — just have patience, I’ve got a rough couple of weeks coming up but by mid to late June I should have some time to devote to this task! (Then again, maybe this would be the perfect distraction for the next few weeks. We’ll see.)

  67. I found a great place to find the ranks for each game. I print them out per game and, if a game is 50 ranks, I can get each game on one page. The site is 5427.com.

Kaye – It can be so confusing as to what day it is when trying to play the UK’s version of Trivial Pursuit, huh? lol I’m on the west coast and have discovered their midnight switchover is at 5:00pm here, so I can only assume that would be 2:00pm for you. Watch out with daylight savings time, you’ll have to remember to adjust the time.

    For those of you having trouble with the Jigsaw Treasure Hunter badge, try this out… First, do all of the edge pieces (if you pay close attention, you’ll notice the pieces are always in the same location and once you’ve learned the pattern, you can almost do it blindfolded… I can assemble the edges in under a minute, on elite! (see below for step-by-step) Second, move all the inner pieces off the tray and place them across the top of the game (as high as they’ll go). Try to keep them spread out as much as possible, clumping tends to force them to ‘jump’ down a bit. Next, pick up a piece and start ‘bouncing’ it back and forth across the top in incrementally small bounces… the pieces will auto click into place for that row. Once you’ve gathered all eight, place it in the puzzle and start a new row.

    Hint: I’ve found playing a puzzle with a landscape and sky are usually a lot easier.

    Step-by-step edge piece placement: (I start by finding the bottom left corner and working my way up and around.) This works for Jigsaw Detective, too.
    – 1. Very top left piece goes in bottom left corner
    – 2. Very top right piece goes above placed piece
    – 3. Very bottom center piece (slighly to the right)
    – 4. Very top furthest left piece
    – 5. Very bottom left center piece
    – 6. Third piece down on the far left
    – 7. Very far right top piece
    – 8. Second ‘row’ down, second piece from right is top corner piece
    – 9. Second piece down on far left
    – 10. Very bottom right corner
    – 11. Very center, just below middle of board
    – 12. Top piece closest to last piece placed
    – 13. Very bottom left corner
    – 14. Third piece down in second ‘column’ from the right
    – 15. Topmost piece just left of center on the board
    – 16. Very bottom, third piece from left
    – 17. Middle piece on far right is top right corner
    – 18. Very top right (may be hiding under placed pieces)
    – 19. Furthest bottom piece in center of board
    – 20. Farthest right, top piece (closest to last placed)
    – 21. Top right corner (just up and to the left of last piece grabbed)
    – 22. Farthest left bottom, move up and to the right to grab the…
    – 23. Second piece from the bottom on the left, move up and to the right to grab the…
    – 24. Slightly left and down of the centerpoint of the board (this is bottom right corner)

    – 26. Bottom right corner, lowest of the two pieces together
    – 27. Farthest top left piece

    When you’ve learned the pattern, you’ll find yourself ‘stopping’ on the way and picking up the next piece like I showed you in 22-24. I do it regularly, the easiest being 5-6, 10-11, 14-15, 29-30, and 31-32.

I wouldn’t worry about badges and ranks – think we all know a different site that maintains this and can go there when we need to. Maintenance of badges and ranks has to be a never ending nightmare. I would much rather look forward to the daily crossword answers in the near future.

    For a wee-end thread how about comments on what we do in chat to help other players and “newbies” i.e. chatting how a newbit can view their stats, hints or tricks for the current challenge badge etc.

  70. For the Jigsaw Treasure Hunter badge on hard: I sorted all the edge pieces and moved them to their appropriate sides. Make sure they are lined up straight( doesnt have to be in a pile but along the edges of the screen with the magnet). Take 1 piece, move it up and down on top of the other pieces to build each side. ( Usually takes about 2 minutes or less to complete outer edges) Use magnet and pull all pieces out of the tray and line them up at the top of the screen. Try to spread them out so they are lined up straight. Take 1 piece and move it back and forth across the top of the screen until the pieces attach to it..I can complete Hard puzzles between 5 and 7 minutes doing it this way.

  73. Hi all, I play the Fairy Godmother Tycoon but I dont get the badge just for playing, someone else had the same problem? Or do I something wrong?

    For the people who have troubles wih Jigsaw Treasure Hunter: play the game so far as you can and left about 4 pieces, then activate your badge and you can do every game in less then a few minutes 😉 So dont worry, everybody can solve a puzzle in a few minutes, just activate if before you are almost done, and it counts and you get your badge!

    Its realy the truth, I tried it and it works for me, so it will works for everybody and for every game I think, when you have to do something on time 😉

    • Snowyjoke: the original Fairy Godmother Tycoon doesn’t give badges, it just gives tokens. The one that will give badges is the “Unlocked” one, which will be a deluxe game released in the future from Pogo.

Hi, this my first post. but i really need help. my computer crashed a couple of moths ago and after it was all fixed i reinstalled DD, i open the game, click on play now and it doesnt open or anything, got no idea what is wrong, i emailed EA and got the run around, did everything they said and nothing worked. has anyone got any ideas how i can fix this problem so i can play this game as i enjoy playing it but cant till i can work out why it cant be played on my comp. thanks in advance

  80. Hi CAMCELL7… I just helped 2 ppl from this thread a couple of weeks ago win rated games.. I have another friend who will be willing to help as well. Look me up I can help u with that badge. My friend Jan and I play spades nightly. I also can play Euchre as well. And have helped a few with this badge. I don’t worry bout ratings in any game and I am willing to lose rank to help a fellow pogo player.. Which brings me to a conversation the other day in one of the spades intermediate lobbies. 2 ppl were talking about playing spades and if a blue joined there tble what would u say to that person.. The 1 said I would tell them to leave and go back to the beginner room until they learned to play.. And the other said I choose who I play with by character and not by rating. I then piped up and said to the 1 guy knocking blues and being blue for inexperience and said to him I am blue and I can tell u I can play spades. I beat the bots 99% of the time. I am blue because I choose to help ppl win rated games for their badges.. and the other guy popped up and said Now there is a player with character… And I left it at that. I am rank 41, almost 42 in spades and play it nightly. In fact out of 14 games my friend and I played last night we lost 1 so I think I have the game down pat.. I just choose to not worry bout the ratings. I found a very wonderful friend who helped teach me euchre and helped me with that win 5 rated game badge. I asked for help in that lobby

    Pat I can help u with both of them games I infact just did both of those for a friend of mine and completed his 07 album for him… There is really no hints for either other than getting a player to help you win.

    For jigsaw treasure hunter u can also have the badge page underneath and u can set that badge when u are 1/2 way done the puzzle too and then u have lots of time. I have not done that badge yet but told a friend to do it that way and it worked for her cause she could never get under 22 minutes. You don’t have to set the badge before u start.. So anyone having trouble can try that..

    Well I have said enough lol and can’t answer to all but I am here to help if u need it. I play pretty much every game except stellar sweeper.I hated minesweeper and I absolutely don’t play that either. My friend does that game for me as I have ranked out in word whomp, whomp whackdown and word craft for her as she hates word games lol.

Grrr my toddler distracted me and I forgot to finish my comment on asking for help in the Euchre lobby… I asked for help on many diff days in diff lobbies and always got this response: I will help but not for a badge.. or go read the tutorial… Well I read that but some ppl need more than reading a tutorial.. Some ppl need to learn by doing and playing.. I have taught a few since I learned how to play it. I only usually play Euchre for a badge but I do understand and enjoy the game but its just that pogo has so many other fun games too…

    The badge I’m stuck on is the power putter badge in pebble each golf from the 2004 weekly badge album. 🙁 I’ve tried the tip from pogotips.com without success.
    I don’t know if I’m screwing it up or if pogo has “fixed” the glitch that allows you to use pogotips.com’s solution. lol I’ve tried to get this one at least a dozen times at this point and its one of the last I need for ’04. lol While I usually prefer to “tough it out” this one has got me stumped. lmao Any help with this one would be greatly appreciated. I’m Steppes9 in pogoland.

  86. Steve: This has been brought up in previous weekend threads and even this week. Vin had the same issue and it seems there’s a problem with the badge in general, that contacting Pogo’s support about it has resulted in them just giving the badge to you. Keep reading above. 🙂

    I realize you probably would like to “tough it out” but in this case, the game is an old one so Pogo may never fix the problem that’s causing people not to get the badge. You may just want to take this one as a freebie and be done with it.

  96. tankian thank you for the tips on jigsaw treasure hunter badge in the cookbook prem badge album. I did what u had mentioned and got it on the first attempt. I did not do as well as u do but it was in 9 minutes so i think for me that is exellent. I do enjoy exchanging game ideas and hints. I play most games in pogo and right now am trying to rank out in first class sol. I am getting soo close but am so far far away yet it seems. If i can see a light it is sooo dim. lol

    IIRC the easiest way to change 30 checkers into kings is to play with a friend and get them to throw the game so you can get a checker changed to a king quickly. Soon as you have changed it to a king, undo the move. Keep making and undoing the move 30 times and it *should* count for the badge.
    I’m sure it worked that way when the challenge first came out and hopefully Pogo haven’t changed it.

I realize this hasn’t been mentioned in a little while now, but I’m still stoked over the pogo hand-held games being released in …is it July?…I thought about it the other day and realized that if I could play away and pogo would later give me my tokens or special badges, I think it will be as common place in my purse as my wallet. Now isn’t it silly, it made me smile thinking about that. 🙂

    • ketzra: I’m excited about the pocket games too. So far through the pre-orders it looks like Solitaire and Scrabble are the top sellers (and it may be too early to tell anyway), but I’ve already figured out that I couldn’t possibly decide between them, so I think I’m going to just splurge and get one of each. PS: I’m putting up another post tonight about them, just more badge info. 🙂

  101. I have been playing the new game, Boardwalk Sea Ball and I am unable to score at all on the Squid Squishers game. It says to shoot the squid before they reach the pearl. I do. No score at all. I just did a rated Cribbage that took forever and now I see I have a rated Euchre that has to be done. So can I write to Pogo and ask them to give me credit for that one? There are other places people can get that. Your site has another purpose we appreciate and that is the blogging and other info. If you want to add to your plate….get ready for daily crosswords like walla said…that would be more beneficial.

    Lura-my response to Ms. Nettiquets article…I think they can make everyone’s life easier by just saying…look…we F’ed up…we are pulling it down while until we can fix what needs to be fixed. That would be better than their stupid solutions and be patient…it will be sorted load of crap. If it is causing this much distress…something that is what they think is a better way to “bring the pogo community together” is tearing it apart…its time to pull it down and put their big boy/girl pants on and fix it.
