Happy Weekend Everyone!

It’s been a badge-filled week, with the Yahtzee badge that seems to be more time-consuming (and probably more frustrating for most people) than other weekly badges plus the personal challenge marathon — things might be a little quiet around here with all of you working to get all five badges done! If you’re still working on your badges, there are some good hints and tips in the weekly challenge thread.

Pogo has just brought their Pogo Arcade web site into a more public beta. We’ve been aware of it since around October, but now Pogo’s asking for their members to give feedback*. The site features various flash-based games and is free to everyone: no sign ups, no memberships. Pogo’s been delving into Flash games for a while now, with games like Beaker Creatures and Puck’s Peak, but these games are more like homebrewed games. They’re quick, casual arcade games that are fun and addictive. You’ll have to check ‘em out!

Thanks Austin for the heads-up on this one, we’d almost forgotten about it entirely.

*We love this. The site states “Let us know what you think! What games do you love, which games could be better? We welcome and encourage any feedback you might have.” However, there’s no link to contact them near that paragraph or anywhere else on the site. After some minor technical problems this morning, Pogo has released Flower Daze! This game has five rank badges and three in-game special badges, you can view them here. There are also 3 in-game mini awards to be won. If you run into trouble, don’t forget to read the How to Play!

Just a quick note: Flower Daze is scheduled to be released today. Pogo’s having a few issues getting it out this morning so please have patience with them. We’ll post here once the game is ready to play — whether it’s today or tomorrow or next week — so keep an eye on this spot for the latest details!

In the meantime, you can get your computer ready to play Flower Daze. Like Puck’s Peak, it has a larger game window than the rest of Pogo games. You’ll want to make sure your screen resolution is set to at least 1024×768 — there are details on how to do that at Pogo’s help site.
