Happy Weekend Everyone!
Hope you’re all finding a way to enjoy one of the last bits of summer we’ve got left, whether you’re out and about or inside working on this week’s Monopoly badge!
I have been digging through the weekend open thread category I created recently and we’ve had some great topics in the past. We haven’t talked about our token amounts about a year so let’s do that again!
How many tokens do you have now? What do you do with all of them? Those of you who participated in the last discussion, how many have you netted in the past year?
See you in the comments!

Here’s a sneak peek at an upcoming Clue episode: Undercover in the Underworld Part 2. It will contain new cities, Pompeii and Las Vegas. This episode will be 20 gems for Club Pogo members, or 40 gems for non-members.

Continue your undercover adventure and travel from the glitz of Las Vegas to the subterranean ruins of the ancient city of Pompeii. Can you unravel the mystery of Project Hades, or will C.L.U.E. fulfill their dark plan of destruction?
This should be the episode released for October. The game’s developer has stated that they plan to release a new episode each month, and one out of every three releases will be free for Club players.
Incidentally, today Pogo accidentally ‘released’ the badges for this and the first Undercover in the Underworld into the badge system even though the episodes are not available yet in the episode store or in game. They’re just a reminder of another Pogo goof to ignore until the episodes are released in September and October!

It’s Tuesday again and that means it’s Tips Day! Each Tuesday we’ll be showcasing one of Pogo.com’s games and collecting your tips, insights, and hints for playing the games, earning more tokens in them, and earning their badges more easily.
Crazy Cakes is one of Pogo’s time management games. Your job is to serve patrons various baked goods as they arrive at your shop. There are 50 Crazy Cakes ranks to earn and along the way to max rank you’ll earn five rank badges. The premium, weekly, and mix-n-match badges for this game are often like these:
* Use X power-ups
* Meet the goal for X rounds without wasting any desserts
* Meet the goal for X rounds without losing any customers
* Serve X desserts
* Serve X (type of patron, ex: Dwarves)
We’d love to hear your thoughts on what level is easiest for you and when you think power-ups should be used. If you have any hints or tips for ranking up faster, earning the badges listed above, or for earning maximum tokens in Crazy Cakes, leave a comment below! Thanks!

There was quite an uproar over last week’s Mini Mall release, specifically the “Raver’s Night” background. Kat brought it up on last weekend’s open thread and there was a lot of discussion about it! The original animated background contains pacifiers, which are sometimes used to prevent teeth grinding during ecstasy use.
Pogo has decided to change this background — snapshots from the animation are below, before and after. You can see that one of the two pacifiers has been removed.
Expect the original to be replaced in the Mini Mall soon.

Pogo has redesigned their Gem purchase pages! Along with general flow and design changes, Pogo has added the Wallie Card as a payment option for Gems.
The Wallie Card at its simplest is a prepaid card for making purchases on the internet. Most notably, it’s an anonymous and safe way to make micropayments online. A ton of game sites are already using it, they’ve got retailers in 76 countries, and here in the U.S. you can get them at convenience stores and gas stations.
More information on Wallie Cards is available at the Wallie Card web site.
You can still purchase Gems with credit card/debit card and PayPal as well. Feel free to discuss the new pages and changes below.

Happy Weekend Everyone!
Three cheers to Pat for coming up with this weekend’s topic. We usually talk about the online aspects of Pogo here, but what about your offline world? Here’s what she came up with:
If there were a spy cam on you as you play Pogo, what would your environment look like? What room in the house is your computer? Or where do you play Pogo most often? Are you casually dressed or ready to greet the neighbors? Eating, drinking or keeping keyboard pristine? T.V. or music? What other items do you keep nearby? Children or pets?
Give us a glimpse into your world and tell us about all about where and how you play Pogo!
As usual, you don’t have to stick to just this discussion topic, you can chat about anything in the Pogoverse or ask any questions you may have. We’re here to help.
See you in the comments!

Pogo is planning to make scoring changes to some more games, in addition to the planned changes to Mahjong Safari and Sweet Tooth 2. The proposed changes to Poppit! and Word Whomp are listed below. Keep in mind these token and scoring updates are currently being tested and may not be the final changes.
Word Whomp
Scoring:
- Normal (non-bonus) words are worth their number of letters * 10. For example, a 4 letter word is worth 40 points.
- The Bonus Word is worth 100 points.
- Any extra time on the clock after spelling all the words is worth 10/20/50 points on Easy/Medium/Hard.
Tokens:
- Score converts to Tokens at 10:1. Example: A score of 1500 pays 150 tokens plus the bonuses for the carrot and turnip.
- For reaching the carrot, the player earns a spin and 20/30/40 tokens on Easy/Medium/Hard.
- For reaching the turnip, the player gets 50/75/100 tokens on Easy/Medium/Hard, which is in addition to the score bonus for time remaining on the clock.
Poppit!
Scoring:
- Score is the value reported on-screen
- Prize value based on height = 70, 65, 50, 45, 30, 25, 20, 0, 0, 0
- Each Superpop = 0,0,0,0,0,50,50,100,100,150,150,200 (increases based on number of balloons in the super pop)
- Complete Game Bonus (5 or fewer balloons) = 750, 500, 400, 300, 200, 100 (No balloons left to 5 balloons left)
- Unused Power ups = 25 pts each
Tokens:
- There is a 5:1 ratio of score to tokens.
Don’t be surprised if we see more scoring changes coming down the pike. Pogo appears to be making the token payouts more uniform across their classic games. At this point we’re not sure why, but they have hinted that there’s “something fun” related to these changes coming soon.
