During the normal course of the game, you’ll travel around the board buying properties that aren’t owned and paying rent on properties that are owned by other people. As you start to collect properties (and trade for ones that you want), you’ll eventually be able to collect complete color groups. That’s where the fun starts — when you get yourself a complete color group, you can start building houses on them. Houses might be expensive at first, but the more houses you build, the more you’re able to charge for rent. If you can wheel and deal and build up your properties enough to take all of your opponents cash, you’ll win the game!

Rank progress in Monopoly is based on the number of times you pass go.
There are many strategies posted on how to rank up fast. One way is to play against three bots with the following settings: 3 bankruptcies till game over, no turn or time limit, no limit on houses or hotels.
Try to get one property from each group as quickly as possible. This makes sure that no bot can get a Monopoly.
As you start to gain money, work on getting monopolies in the cheaper colors by buying the properties from the bots (through the trading feature). Continue to pile up the properties, Monopolies and start building houses and hotels.
Your goal is to bankrupt two of the bots and leave one standing. When this happens, immediately remove all of your houses and hotels (through the mortgage feature.) Now you are left on a clear board with one bot, and you can run around the board very quickly with no trade offers or other things to make the game lag. When you’re ready to finish the game, build your hotels again and buy any properties that the remaining bot has left. That way you can put a hotel on every property.
- Early in the game, pay to get out of jail, so you can grab any unowned spots. Late in the game, it might be worth staying in jail to avoid paying money on another player’s monopoly.
- You should start building houses on the last property of your color group, since the rent is worth more there. Except in the orange color group, where you want to build on Rome and Shanghai first.
