Here’s a look at the upcoming Mix-n-Match badges for August 2009. As usual, each of these will cost 16 gems and they’ll most likely be released on the evening of July 31st. The challenges themselves are subject to change before release — last month there were many challenges that had their objectives changed between the sneak peek and the actual release.

Today, we posted the rules for Mini Golf Madness. There are a lot of special features and power-ups to this game — it looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun. Even more fun for the most Badge Hungry among us, we’ll be able to earn 19 total badges in this game.

There are the five rank badges and two in-game achievement badges, but there are also twelve “Course” badges. (Kudos to BadgeAddicts for finding these badges!)

If you look closely, these badges are still a work in progress — the small text on some of them reads “Course Icon Here”. According to the How to Play, you can earn by completing each Standard course in the game at or below Par.

Have a look at these six new backgrounds slated to be Mini Awards in the future. The surprise in this one is the first item, which is clearly for Boardwalk Sea Ball! The other backgrounds will be awarded in KenoPop!, one of the Monopoly Games (the board game Monopoly Here & Now or Monopoly Slots), World Class Solitaire, Dice City Roller, and Word Craft.

As far as a timeline goes, these are still probably a little ways off. However, it looks like the Mini Awards for Lottso and Hog Heaven Slots should be ready soon! Here’s a first look at the MiniGolf Madness badges. There are 7 badges in total and we’ll update you with the badge requirements for both the rank badges and in-game achievement badges when more information is available.

Once again, Fairy Godmother Tycoon Premium (formerly Fairy Godmother Tycoon 2) has gotten a new name: Fairy Godmother Tycoon Unlocked. We’ve also got names and requirements for the six badges and good news: as with all of Pogo’s deluxe-style games, you’ll be able to earn a free badge just for trying the free trial of the game.

Crossword Cove is shaping up nicely to be a daily crossword diversion for everyone on Pogo (it’ll be available to both Club Pogo and regular members). For the most part, it’s a regular daily crossword puzzle with a few Pogo twists.

There will be a few powerups, in the form of stars that you earn, that will reveal common letters in the puzzle if you’re stuck. Also, you can get hints and eventually a solution to a tricky word, but at a price: you won’t receive points for using the solve feature. This game is going to be very user-friendly, you don’t even have to finish the puzzle to earn points, you’ll just earn less of them.
