As if the extra daily free tokens weren’t enough to make you want to play Pogo Games through Facebook, Pogo has rolled out Mini Rewards on their Pogo Games Facebook app. When you play the Pogo games on Facebook, you will earn experience points (xp) and tokens toward your Pogo account, and now you’ll also earn Mini Reward items as you climb through the 50 levels.

Each time you reach a new level, you earn at least one Mini Reward item, unlock several other mini items, and earn bonus tokens. Most are of the Facebook-exclusive rewards are goodies and every 5th level (5, 10, 15, 20, etc) the item you earn will be animated. The screenshot below shows the “earned” exclusive item on the left:

The rewards you ‘unlock’ are the same as the ones you can purchase on the regular Pogo site at the Mini Mall. For now, if you earn an exclusive item on Facebook and want to save it as a snapshot on your mini on the regular Pogo site, you must add it to your mini from the Facebook Mini Mall and then save the snapshot over on the regular Pogo site. We expect this process to be smoother in the future.

There was quite an uproar over last week’s Mini Mall release, specifically the “Raver’s Night” background. Kat brought it up on last weekend’s open thread and there was a lot of discussion about it! The original animated background contains pacifiers, which are sometimes used to prevent teeth grinding during ecstasy use.

Pogo has decided to change this background — snapshots from the animation are below, before and after. You can see that one of the two pacifiers has been removed.

 

Expect the original to be replaced in the Mini Mall soon.

Part two, with the rest of the signs of the zodiac, should be coming out in a week or two. This release also brings us some long-awaited shorts, just in time for summer.

On 7/29, Pogo removed this item from the Mini Mall. For those of us who purchased it at the price of 18 tokens, it remains in our closet and is marked as “Sold Out”.

Ellen wrote in today to let us know that Pogo has listed an animated Fourth of July background for 18 tokens! This is probably an error, as animated backgrounds are usually 18 gems. You might want to zip over to the Mini Mall and grab “Fourth of July Parade” before its price is changed!

Kiki also wrote in to give us a little hint: if you take a Snapshot of it, you will always be able to access the background from there should Pogo decide to rescind its “kind” offer.
