Just FYI, the original requirements for this badge were “Spin the reels to get 3 Spiders 5 times in 1 day!” Thankfully Pogo decided to loosen up a little bit and make this based on the free spin bonus and not 3 spiders which probably would have been near impossible!

Thanks to Smarty59 for emailing us this morning to let us all know that our favorite holiday game Spooky Slots is back for the season! You can find it by adding it to your favorites or simply going to the Spooky Slots page. They haven’t added any new badges or ranks, so this is exactly the same game as the last two years since they upgraded it — the Spooky Slots ranks are the same too, 10 ranks with 1 badge at rank 10. It’ll be here ’til shortly after Halloween, so if you haven’t ranked out and gotten your badge, go for it!

You can look forward to the 2009 Halloween Limited Edition badge, though — we’ve given details in our Halloween Preview post.

Halloween is just around the corner (5 weeks or so left) and Pogo is busy working behind the scenes to prepare!

First of all, Spooky Slots is coming back again this year but we don’t know when, or if they’ll be adding more ranks and badges yet. (Check out the current 10 ranks and 1 badge for Spooky Slots.) We’re scouring our sources to find out, and we’ll let you know if we hear anything at all.

They’ve got the 2009 Halloween Limited Edition Badge ready to go — it’ll cost 28 gems and will be available sometime in October until November 1st.

New ranks for Spooky Slots?

Good afternoon, Ed,

I’m so glad to see the return of Spooky Slots, it really makes Halloween feel Halloweeny. I’m just puzzled about one thing – the ranks. Do you know if anymore ranks are going to be added this year, or is it just the game being returned to us? I know we have the Mix & Match due out shortly, but I know myself, and a lot of other players were eagerly awaiting the ranks.

Thanks for writing in, it’s nice to see Spooky Slots being welcomed back so warmly! To answer your question, I’m afraid I’m not aware of any plans to add new ranks to the game this year. I have seen a few requests for more ranks from UK players, which have been duly noted and passed on to the Club Pogo team.

Now, we can’t find anywhere on Pogo that said for certain that they’d add more ranks to the game; but it was a common thought among all of the fan sites (this site included). But still, we’re all pretty disappointed.

(We’re still digging through the recesses of Pogo’s site to find proof…somewhere… that they did say we’d get 10 ranks a year.)

There will, however, be a mix-n-match badge released in October for Spooky Slots. It will be available when the rest of the October M&M’s are released.

Spooky Slots has been put back up for the Halloween season! However, we’d all expected it to have 10 more ranks and one more badge, but they’re not there! Don’t bother playing yet if you’re already rank 10 — we’ll post more information on whether or not there will be ranks and a game award badge added this year. (Next month, though, look for a Spooky Slots Mix-n-Match challenge.)

This is the third Thursday of the month, so you know that means it’s Casino Night. Play Blackjack Carnival, Spooky Slots,
and Double Deuce Poker for 2000 free tokens each.
