Pogo’s artists have been hard at work creating the next Mix-n-Match badges. The good news is that there are fifteen new badges (that look especially great in our opinion), including ones for some new games like KenoPop! and Sudoku Puzzle Blast, and maybe even (a hopefully made-over) Ali Baba Slots. We desperately want to tell you that these will all be for April, but they may very well be spread across two months of Mix-n-Match challenges. We’ll post more details as they become available, of course!

If you’re like us and have almost completed KenoPop! a mere 48 hours after its release, you’ll be pleased to read this week’s Letters to the Editor in which a member describes the disappointment in finding a new game to be fun, but entirely too short and quick. The response? KenoPop!’s producer stated that they’ll be adding new ranks “as soon as possible”. Of course, ASAP is an entirely subjective amount of time, but we’re all eagerly awaiting more poppin’ action.

KenoPop! has been released. It is available to Club Pogo members only, but it did not replace the original Keno. It seems to rank up fast, especially at lower levels, and would be a fine choice of game to play when you can’t devote your full attention. We really like it so far, especially the shared number bonuses and the usual updates across the bottom of the screen that tell you how your roommates are doing.

Pogo has put up a page on their site for KenoPop!. This page tells us that it’s going to be a Club Pogo game, so it’s safe to assume that KenoPop! won’t replace the current Keno, so the non-Club members will still have a Keno to play. And if the release of this page is any indication, we expect this speedy version of keno to be out pretty soon, probably before the end of January (our source says the 22nd or 29th). For what it’s worth, a similar page for Thousand Island Solitaire was put up only 8 days prior to its release.

At the end of November we reported that there was a possibility that Word Riot may be coming back. Well, it is, and it’ll be in the form of Word Riot Deluxe. We’ve seen mini outfits (described earlier) and mini backgrounds so far. There will be six badges, ranks, and 3 different modes: Classic, Rally, and Advanced.
As far as KenoPop! goes, a little more information has come out since we originally mentioned it. We know the game will have a shared bonus (500 tokens) and we’ve put up a page with the KenoPop! rules and pay tables for anyone interested.

Perhaps “Speed Keno” conjured up too many images of cracked-out players gambling away their paychecks, because the new Keno game is now going to be called “KenoPop!” instead. We can only hope this new version is still going to be faster than the current, sleep-inducing Keno!

Those five badges we saw a week ago were for Keno afterall! They’re going to be part of “Speed Keno”, which will have 50 ranks and 5 badges. We aren’t sure yet if this will replace the existing Keno (which is currently available to non-Club Pogo members) or if it’ll be an addition, or if it’ll be a replacement available to both paid and non-paid members of Pogo. Badges will be at ranks 10 (Big Baller Badge), 20 (Big Popper Badge), 30 (Keno Supremo Badge), 40 (Keno-It-All! Badge), and 50 (Super Baller Badge).

We’ve seen five new badges, all including balls of some sort. These give us a pretty good idea that the next game Pogo will be overhauling is Keno. Badges and ranks ahoy!
