Someone asked a question in the original Beaker Creatures release post this morning and I ended up searching Pogo’s support site to try to give them some answers. Of course I didn’t find anything to help them (am I the only who gets totally random search results there?) but I did stumble across this interesting piece of information related to the secret badge:

Unfortunately, there is a rumor going around regarding a secret badge for Beaker Creatures. Beaker Creatures currently does not have any secret badges available, and there are no plans of releasing any secret Beaker Creatures badges in the near future.

The reason there was a rumor in the first place is because an extra badge graphic was created for the game and added to Pogo’s live web servers (see our original post containing the six badge graphics). Usually when Pogo creates and uploads extra badges for a game they end up as “special” or “secret” badges that can be earned by completing an in-game achievement (a lot of recent games have these, like Crossword Cove and Thousand Island Solitaire and others).

I guess this badge isn’t ever going to make it to our badge albums, considering Pogo claims they have no plans of releasing any secret badges in the near future.

Rest in peace, cute little secret badge that could have been.

July 2009′s Mix-n-Match badges have been released. They cost 16 gems each.

Rumor has it that the requirement for the special, in-game award badge in Beaker Creatures is 25,000 perfect sets. Nobody we know has come close to that yet, but we’d love to hear from someone who has! Just drop us an email with your Pogo screenname so we can look up your awesome accomplishment!

Beaker Creatures Secret/Special badge

Update: Several people have written in to let us know they’ve reached 25,000 perfect sets and not received a badge. Next rumor? :P

Beaker Creatures has been released. It’s also Pogo’s first game in Flash (as opposed to the previous games which were all created in Java).

Don’t fret, you probably already have Flash installed in order to see the animated badges, but if you don’t you can download it from Adobe.

This game has 50 ranks and six total badges (ranks 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50; and a special in-game badge). If you have any hints or tips on how to rank up fast or get the special badge, post it in the comments below. Thanks!

According to this week’s Letters to the Editor UK edition, Beaker Creatures will be released next week. There’s no staggering details here, but check it out:

Oh, go on then….

We have a new Club Pogo exclusive game launching next week! It’s a super little puzzle game called Beaker Creatures and, as always, your very own Pogo News will have full details when the game’s launched.

This is, however, great news since the last new release we saw was Sock Hop Slots, back on December 2! Look for it on Tuesday of next week, here’s a tour of the game to tide you over.

The more we read about this game, the more excited we get! In addition to all of the great images and information we’ve gathered, we can now show you how to play Beaker Creatures.

The How to Play text seems a little sparse right now, so take it as a work-in-progress. We’ll be sure to update the rules if they are changed before release or if there are any additional sections posted.

And here is the artwork that will be used for the badges in the game:

These badges are for ranks 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 and one special in-game badge.

Here’s some more information on the upcoming Pogo release Beaker Creatures, which will be available to only Club Pogo members.
