The “Clue hidden object game” that Dan F. mentioned in his interview looks like it’ll be Pogo’s very own version of Clue: Secrets and Spies, a board game that Hasbro is currently marketing. In this spy-themed version of Clue, you are one of a team of international spies hired to travel to various locations around the world to stop Agent Black. It appears the game-play of this board game may be similar to the original clue, just with a spy theme and worldwide setting. If you’re interested, check out the Clue: Secrets and Spies board game from Hasbro, which implements text messaging (Pogo’s version probably won’t do this, but who knows). It’ll be interesting to see how Pogo turns all of this into a hidden object game for their site.
Can you prove yourself as the world’s ultimate spy? Agent Black – CLUE’s most notorious spy – is plotting, and it’s up to you to stop him! Go undercover as an international agent to foil his schemes by completing missions and attending secret meetings. Scan with your spy light to uncover a secret, or check your cell phone for a Spy Text that could help or hinder your game. Your assignments will take you all over the world, so stay ahead of the other agents and earn the title of Ultimate Spy!
We’re working to get more details on this game, so keep an eye on BadgeHungry for the latest news.

Puck’s Peak is currently in the testing phase and we are starting to receive tons and tons of information on this unique, new game!

Puck’s Peak is a tower-building game with unlockable characters and levels where your goal is to stack blocks of different shapes and sizes to certain heights (500m, 1000m, et cetera). Each time a block falls, you earn a strike — so many strikes and you have to start over! Once you build a pile of blocks to the required height, it must stay standing for 3 seconds.

Check out this cool new Premium Badge Album that Pogo is creating for us! It’s got ten badges and challenges — all in solitaire games — with an album completion badge, as usual. When it’s released, it will cost $5.99 or 86 gems.

The graphic artists at Pogo have been busy creating a lot of artwork for our minis. Recently, the following images were created.
Please note: while sometimes game-related mini items may mean a game is going to be deluxe, this is not a deluxe game. In addition, these are not mini awards that will be awarded in game. Right now, they appear to be mini items that will be released either in coordination or shortly after the release of the game. (Pogo did this with Trivial Pursuit last year.)
Puck’s Peak-related Mini items: background, goodie, and costume:

These images may give us a hint to gameplay as well. What do you think?

We’re still waiting on the actual badge graphics, but we can tell you that Battleship will have 50 ranks, 5 rank badges, and 2 “secret” in-game achievement badges. There’s also been a little bit of information leaked about how we’ll be earning those badges, ranks, and powerups. This, from the Ranks section of the How to Play:
BATTLESHIP has 50 ranks that you can earn as you progress through the game. For Club Pogo players, your rank is shown on the upper left. Also, at ranks 5, 15, 25, and 35, you unlock access to a new powerup, which are only available to Club Pogo players. You earn rank progress by firing shots. You can play in any game mode, win or lose, and make rank progress at approximately the same speed, so play using whatever mode you like best.
There are 5 rank badges you can win in BATTLESHIP. The badges are given out when you achieve ranks 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50. There are also two secret badges, which we won’t write about here, because then they wouldn’t be secret!
Note: To make rank progress, you do not need to win the game. You simply need fire shots.
There’s also some information on a marketing page at Pogo: Battleship is Coming Soon!
Big thanks to the little birdies who whispered in our ear about this news! We’ll be sure to show you as soon as we get our hands on Battleship’s seven badges and their requirements.

Earlier this week, Pogo launched the latest redesign of their free home page. (If you’re a Club Pogo member and want to check it out, just sign out for a little bit and browse around. It’s pretty spiffy.) They’ve also posted an overview to explain the basics of the new site and a detailed look at some of the new tabs and features.
This doesn’t affect most of you, as the majority of BadgeHungry readers are Club Pogo members, but there is something you should be aware of. From this week’s UK Letters to the Editor:
our new Free Pogo homepage is the first stage of an enormous project to give the free site – and, eventually, Club Pogo – a serious make-over. Club Pogo is probably the most important to get absolutely perfect, so comes in the latter stages of the project, which runs well into next year. The emphasis is really on making Pogo as user-friendly and visually pleasing as possible, so we’ve spent a lot of time collecting feedback and ideas from Pogo players.
Sometime next year Club Pogo will be getting a makeover too. Most likely it’ll coordinate and fall in line with the free Pogo homepage and accompanying pages. (Think: similar colors and layout, no ads, and more focus on badges.)
What do you think of the redesigned free homepage? Do you think Club Pogo will benefit from a similar organization scheme?
Whether or not you’re a free or Club Pogo member, feel free to chime in on these changes in a comment below.

According to the interview with Dan F., Pogo’s got a bunch of new games and features in the works, including two new games!
Gosh, there’s so much I don’t know where to begin. We have loads of great games coming out, including a really fun game called Flower Daze with a hilarious hippy character in it and a really cool Clue hidden object game. We’re also going to make it so that you can give all kinds of goodies to your friends on Pogo, which should be lots of fun. There’s lots more that I shouldn’t talk about, but let’s just say we’re adding tons of cool stuff that will be included in your Club Pogo subscription.
These two games will probably be a long time in the making, as we’ve still got Battleship, Risk, and Block Builder that are considerably farther along in the development cycle.
We’ll keep you posted as we find more news on both the upcoming changes to Pogo as well as Flower Daze and the yet-unnamed Clue hidden object game. Stay tuned!
Big thanks to Jessica who scoped out the newsworthy bits in the interview!

Battleship is coming along nicely and should be released by the end of this month! The game is scheduled to be featured in the next game night (after tomorrow’s) on November 6th, so it should be released before then or Pogo’s going to have to change up their promotion! Thanks Chadd for pointing this out! It’s worth mentioning that we are assuming at least a week of “sneak peek” mode where the game is “out” but not generally released — ie linked on the Pogo home page — before the game would be used for a promotion or event.
The graphics in the game are coming along nicely, everything is very shiny and sharp. Behold a loading image:

Here are some details about the powerups you’ll be playing with while you battle to sink your opponent’s ships (thanks John2!):
Some powerups are always available:
* Heavy Shot
* Counter-Attack
* Reinforcements
* Sinking Shots
* Torpedoes
Some powerups are unlocked at certain ranks:
* Rank 5 – Skipper Powerup
* Rank 15 – Harpoon Powerup
* Rank 25 – Attack Squadron
* Rank 35 – Tomahawk Powerup (Only Active if you have very few ships remaining!)
We’re still waiting on the badge graphics and requirements for Battleship, but they should be out soon. As usual, stay tuned to BadgeHungry for the latest information, and look for this game near the end of the month!
