Christmas is Coming to the Mini Mall!

Get ready to spend some gems and tokens on the upcoming Christmas/Holiday mini release(s). Pogo’s got some great new stuff this year — gorgeous backgrounds (including ones with pets), cold weather clothes, a nutcracker, santa hats for our favorite pets, piles of presents, and a partridge in a pear tree (or two)!

We expect these items to be released shortly after Thanksgiving (but we’re all hoping they’ll be released the week before, right?). And like Pogo always does for major holidays, they’ll be bringing back a few of your favorite holiday favorites from years past.

(Partial) Week in Review

We’re back! On the very first day of our vacation, our darling Badge Fairy Lura came down with an awful sore throat and fever that’s making her cranky and sleepy and generally difficult. Please bear with us as she convalesces.

In other news, while we were gone:

Casual President resigns, EA cuts their Casual Division
President of the EA Casual Division Kathy Vrabeck resigned and shortly thereafter EA announced a reorganization that basically merges the Casual division with the Sims division, as well as merges in their Hasbro partnership. The most interesting thing (for us) about this is that EA is seemingly saying that “casual gamers” don’t exist, that the term “casual gamer” in fact applies to a much more diverse set of gamers, hardcore and non-hardcore alike.

New mini items in the Mini Mall
Pogo has given us another great release of mini items in the Mini Mall, including exotic pets (isn’t that peacock gorgeous?) and Yahtzee items. In addition to some other Autumnal items, there are a few new pieces of clothing to keep your Mini warm as the weather begins to turn to downright chilly in most of the nation.

Pictureka can be added to favorites
You can add Pictureka to your favorites, but you can’t yet download and/or play it. You know where to look for the latest news, of course…right here at BadgeHungry. We wouldn’t keep any secrets from you.

We only posted US answers
You’d think the world was coming to a nuclear end with the amount of email we received about the answers we had (or hadn’t) pre-posted for Trivial Pursuit Daily 20. For the three days we were gone, we got the US answers in advance, but not the UK answers. We decided to post the US answers and list that the UK answers would be posted soon — better half than none at all, right? Well, we received so much email protesting the missing answers we probably can’t respond to all of you, but the UK answers have been back-posted now. You may now remove your foil-lined helmets and come out from your bomb shelters — everything is right with the world (except maybe Badge Fairy’s darned sore throat)!

Dream Vacation Sweepstakes
Play Monopoly from November 7-13 for a chance to win some great prizes. One winner will win the “Dream Vacation”, consisting of two $500 Hyatt gift cards and one $1500 American Airlines Gift Card. Three winners will receive $300 and the Monopoly Here & Now board game. Each time you load the game you’ll be entered to win, so get playing (or, um, loading).

Pogo Bowl is now Turkey Bowl!
Every year, Pogo replaces the pins in Pogo Bowl with gobbling turkeys. It’s quite a sight to see, so go check it out!

Are You Missing a Premium Mini Background?

Several people have written in to inform us that they paid for a mini background (the one released with the Thanksgiving mini items recently) and it’s disappeared from their closet. The missing image was the animated one with the horses and the tipis, called “Native American Dreams” and shown third here:

We’re pretty sure that Pogo is aware of the problem and will return the background to our closets soon, but it probably can’t hurt to contact Pogo.com customer support to ensure you get your item back when the problem is hot-fixed.

Be sure to thank Pogo for the new minis that they’ve released! We can purchase Thanksgiving and Guy Fawkes Day minis too. There’s also a Trivial Pursuit animated background.

Mini Roundup!

There are some pretty spiffy things coming to the Mini Mall in coming weeks!

There will be the yearly no-smoking campaign, which will urge players to play Pogo while trying to kick the habit. (Last year, the event took place on November 16. This will bring free items to the Mini Mall: a crown, two t-shirts, and a serene “Lung Retreat” background.

Do you remember the mini items from last year’s Guy Fawkes’ day? The Bucket O’Works and Penny for the Guy are coming back, if you didn’t grab ‘em last time.

Thanksgiving minis are also coming! A few favorites from last year will return and there will be a new Pilgrim outfit, a Native American outfit and a couple great new backgrounds (one of the animated ones is called Land Ho, and is a gorgeous, stormy, Plymouth Rock view). Something of note, the pilgrim outfit was created with a lot of research and enthusiasm by the talented Julia Lundman. She wrote about it on her blog and frankly, we find the whole process (and her creative abilities) totally fascinating!

Dog lovers can look forward to some new additions to the Pet Store as well: a German Shorthaired Pointer, a Westie, a Sheltie, and a Bichon Frise.

Oh, and did you know Winter’s on its way? Your minis will be glad to know there are some cold-weather items coming soon: a couple sweaters, a long coat, and more!

Rules and Backgrounds for Way to Go! Bowling

As we promised last night, here’s the full text of the rules for Way to Go! Bowling. We’ll let you speculate as to whether or not Pogo would give us a free download. Every time we read over the paragraph (which is in the section entitled “Tokens, Tickets and Prizes”), we are pretty certain the game will be free; let’s just hope that paragraph isn’t removed!

To celebrate, we’re going to show you the never-before-seen mini backgrounds you can win in the game. (The rest of the mini items are here, and the badges are here.)

Well, Hello Halloween!

Today’s mini release brings us a bunch of fun Halloween Minis, a bunch of new pets and pet-related items, as well as a St. George’s Cross t-shirt for the English!

If you were to buy all of the items, they’d set you back 291,160 tokens and 382 gems (gasp).

In addition, some of the pets in the Pet section are FREE! They’re creatures from the video game Littlest Pet Shop, available for Nintendo Wii, DS, and PC.

Halloween Minis Coming Thursday

Get ready, the Halloween items for this year will be out on Thursday! We gave you a few details of what’s coming up in this recent post, but there is a HUGE Halloween release planned and we kept a few of the treats (or tricks?) a secret so you’ll all have something to look forward to. :)

Canadian Thanksgiving Minis

If you check out the What’s New section of the Mini Mall, you may notice a few Thanksgiving items from years past! It’s probably a pretty sad attempt at appeasing the Canadian Pogo players (whose Thanksgiving is this weekend), but you may want to grab them anyway. There’s one goodie (Winston, the Esteemed Turkey) and four backgrounds: Dinner with Relatives, Now THAT was a Thanksgiving Feast!, Pogo Thanksgiving!, and Turkey Diners.

In this screenshot, you can see the items and their prices (but not the “Try” or “Get” links because, well, the Badge Fairy owns them all already):

Halloween Minis are Coming!

Get ready to indulge at the Mini Mall: the Halloween minis are coming soon. This year there are new costumes for guys and girls, new mini items, and great new backgrounds; and a few favorites from past years are coming back too.

This year you can dress up in Masquerade Costumes, a Cocoon, a Ghost Groom or Bride costume, Scarecrow Costumes, and Sumo Wrestler outfits. There’s also a new broom, Pogo carved pumpkin, and a string of lights for above your mini’s head. The new backgrounds are also fantastic, but we won’t give away all of this year’s spooky surprises!

There will also be, for you die-hard pet lovers, a few mini items for your pets that will help them celebrate the season as well.

Look for the new items as well as returning favorites soon, in October!
