Weekly Roundup

by BadgeHungry on May 23, 2008

Here are a few things of note that we haven’t had time to cover in a single post this week:

The mini pets are on their way! Pogo’s artists have created two new backgrounds — a pet shop and a dog park.

The Flawless Victory badge in Golf Solitaire is now being awarded.

There were a lot of problems with this week’s patch for Word Riot Deluxe (especially for Windows Vista users). Some Vista users have had luck by running it as administrator, but others have not been so lucky. If you are having problems playing Word Riot after the latest update patch this week, we suggest you contact Oberon directly (support at Pogo will just tell you to contact Oberon, anyway).

The badge is now being properly awarded for the 8th Mix-n-Match album completion. It’s called “Jumpin’ for Joy”. It shows up in your Special Edition album and you will be credited 5,000 tokens. WTG Pogo.

Those of you who wanted to know what it was, Poker Pop is now available for online play.

If you haven’t taken advantage of it yet, we added a new token offer for 3,000 tokens to our free Pogo tokens page. Yay for free tokens!

Pogo is starting to work on the upcoming Hasbro releases Operation and Pictureka. Operation Deluxe will be a downloadable game with badges, ranks, and probably mini items. Pictureka may be called Pictureka Museum and if you’ve never played this fun game, you can check out a game demo off this page.

We know we weren’t the only ones who noticed how (ahem) masculine Amber is! *laugh*

Word Riot Deluxe not due out yet

by BadgeHungry on April 23, 2008

Word Riot Deluxe icon Any appearance of Word Riot Deluxe pages on Pogo’s public site was a total goof. Apparently, the game wasn’t due out until next Tuesday Monday*.

Pogo is still testing it in small groups (there was a group of 14 testing Classic mode games earlier today and a slightly smaller group playing in Rally mode). This explains why you cannot download the game from the Pogo site yet. Until further notice, it’s pretty safe to assume Word Riot will be released next Tuesday (4/29) Monday (4/28)*.

Whatever you do, DO NOT try to purchase the game yet — never mind the fact that you should always try before you buy, Oberon Media isn’t ready to distribute your license key(s) (although they’ll be happy to charge you numerous times for the transaction). Don’t say we didn’t warn you!

* Update: According to this page, Word Riot Deluxe will be available on Monday, April 28th. At that time you will be able to download and play the free demo (and enter into a sweepstakes for $400).

Word Riot Deluxe and Golf Solitaire Released

by BadgeHungry on April 22, 2008

In addition to the April Mix-n-Match challenges, Golf Solitaire was released today. The pages for Word Riot Deluxe are up and in place, but the game file isn’t there yet — when it shows up, it will be on this page. We’ll update this post when the file arrives and you can play Word Riot Deluxe later today.

Update: the file still isn’t there, but we know WRD was at some point supposed to be out today; there’s a sweepstakes listed on the page that states “from April 22…”

Update 2: You are going to have to wait until next Tuesday. Sigh.

Pogo Giveth, and Pogo Taketh Away

by BadgeHungry on April 17, 2008

A little while back, via an “oops”, Pogo gave us all the Robo-Blender 5000.

Now, via a non-”oops”, Pogo has taken it away. Fear not, Robo-Blender fans, the Editor assures us that he’ll be back when Word Riot Deluxe comes out (but you’ll have to win him, which will probably require more time than the free trial will offer).
